Gratefulness
“The Japanese are not the enemy. The Americans are not the enemy. The enemy is War.”
August 9, 2015 commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki. This quote is from the film, “Rhapsody in August,” by director Akira Kurosawa, which we highly recommend seeing at this time.
Also, please see the review of this book, Nagasaki: Life After Nuclear War,’ by Susan Southard, and this article Nagasaki, The Forgotten City.
You can read about this and other films screened at Br. David and Francis Lu’s Esalen 2003 Film Retreat, Learning to Forgive.
