Gratefulness
“Love and compassion are necessities. Not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” – His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
It is with humble and full-hearted pleasure that A Network for Grateful Living has joined thousands of organizations working towards a more peaceful, sustainable, and compassionate world, as partners of Charter for Compassion. In joining this “network of networks,” we express and fulfill our commitment to bringing “an awareness of compassion and compassionate action to everything we do as we interact with other people and with our environment.”
As we witness or directly experience the effects of war, mass migrations, racial tensions, political polarization, and the impact (both current and anticipated) of climate change, we, as a global family, are called upon to more fully and boldly embody our convictions that “a compassionate world is a peaceful world;” not as a feel-good exercise, but as a “necessity.”
In signing the Charter for Compassion we join over 2 million people around the globe in asserting that:
“We believe that a compassionate world is possible when every man, woman and child treats others as they wish to be treated–with dignity, equity and respect. We believe that all human beings are born with the capacity for compassion, and that it must be cultivated for human beings to survive and thrive.”

Please join us in signing the Charter for Compassion here. Or sign up as an organizational partner of The Charter.
We encourage you to explore the Charter for Compassion’s website which is filled with excellent, practical, actionable, and inspiring resources.
With much political rhetoric about different visions for our world being bantered about these days, we invite you to join us in doing everything we can to ensure that the luminous, dynamic force of compassion is held as a centerpiece in our polarized world.
Embrace a compassion revolution!

I am so very pleased to see Gratefulness both acknowledge and choose to partner with such a movement. It is a quite natural fit. I signed the Charter a few years ago after having seen Karen Armstrong's TED talk. It is quite encouraging to see that a sincere movement towards unity and interdependence is gaining momentum. I signed the Charter a few years ago after having seen Karen Armstrong’s TED talk. It is quite encouraging to see that a sincere movement towards unity and interdependence is gaining momentum. My most deep seeded source of gratefulness comes from the awareness that the Great Mystery of life is the simple connectedness that is our web of existence. It is the most powerful force is we only embrace it with compassion and grace.
Thank you, Drew, for sharing your gratitude and experience. I so resonate with your comment “My most deep seeded source of gratefulness comes from the awareness that the Great Mystery of life is the simple connectedness that is our web of existence.” And, yes, it is indeed a “powerful force.” Here’s to the acknowledgement of our connectedness and the potential and possibilities that grow from cultivating that awareness.
Very moving and brings joy to my soul as the need for compassion is linked to peace for everyone everywhere. Thank you for sharing this video and the Charter for Compassion. I will share. Namaste.
Thank you! We are grateful and happy to be part of such a bold, powerful and hopeful movement. We appreciate your sharing.
