Gratefulness
… and remember how as a child your arms could rise and your palms turn out to bless the world. (Tobar Phadraic, David Whyte)
Thoughts of limitation, of “can not.”
Many thanks to all of you, dear gratefulness friends, for your openness and sharing, as well as your kindness and support, throughout 2017. I have looked forward to seeing familiar and new names here upon each visit. Although I have not written much lately due to a medical situation, and then a wonderful visit from my daughter and her partner for the holidays, “I carry your heart in my heart” (ee cummings), and bless you daily. I have looked forward to seeing familiar and new names here upon each visit. Although I have not written much lately due to a medical situation, and then a wonderful visit from my daughter and her partner for the holidays, “I carry your heart in my heart” (ee cummings), and bless you daily. Thank you for sharing your places in the world here, your own struggles and perspectives, and always your welcome and wisdom. Peace to you and to this world in the New Year.
I am waiting for the route to bravery to reveal herself.
When it comes to “stuff”, I ask myself this question frequently since moving to a small space. So I am constantly clearing and donating. Not that I ever needed it in the first place, but I would like to let go once and for all of self-judgment and denigration. I would love to rediscover my humor bone in the process! I seem to have lost my light-hearted perspective.

I have a smile that I can give freely, and eyes that can meet another’s with openness.
Lately, there are some who post on the Gratitude Lounge who bravely and openly share their stories with much grace. They have been inspiring me a lot in the areas of truth and awareness, often in the midst of significant struggle. They find gratefulness in the midst of it all. There is something about being invited into their stories that helps me to ponder my own in truth. So I thank you Manda, Aine, Anna, Diane, Ursula, and others who visit there. There is something about being invited into their stories that helps me to ponder my own in truth. So I thank you Manda, Aine, Anna, Diane, Ursula, and others who visit there. Others throughout my time on this site have also gifted their stories. I bow before all of you who daily walk this walk of truth, openness, and perseverance. Namaste.
The voice of intuition which has never failed me. The “voices” of those who SAW me, quite a few of whom were teachers.
Life fully lived.
So beautiful, Manda – thank you for sharing! Many blessings as you look for another job, perhaps more akin to the person you are. And dating, as well. So brave! Be well, my friend.
Dear Aine, we think similarly – I have The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe next to my tv, ready to watch! St. Anthony is looked to as the saint of lost thing. As a young girl I learned this little prayer: “St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please look around. Something is missing and cannot be found.” And where I live, some folks are known to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the garden to help them sell their house. Interesting, the traditions that rise up! It is quite frigid outdoor...

It is quite frigid outdoors here, also, and makes me antsy not to be able to run my errands. The small things, not so much, but trying to get gas or groceries when I am running out is quite the challenge. I do not always do so with a graceful heart. May you be well, dear friend.
Thank you, dear friend. Happy New Year to you!
Thank you so much, Diane. Blessings in the year ahead.
Happy New Year to you, as well, grateful sea!
A wonderful definition of kindness, Kevin. Thanks!
Dear Ose, you take me right to this place with your beautiful description. Thank you!
Kevin, based on some of your other posts here, I think you might be interested in reading David Whyte’s recent Letter from the House on his website. He writes one of these annually. Peace to you.
“Imagine” by John Lennon came singing into my heart, reading this, Ose.
Amen.
It is good to find you here, Mavorneen! I can relate to the stair issue. I’ve been hobbling up and down my 2 flights of stairs with a hairline fracture in my foot lately. May you heal quickly!
