Gratefulness
Beginning and ending each day by recalling the things for which I am grateful is my strongest tool against depression and unhappiness.
I appreciate this blog because it tells a story similar to my own. Many years ago, I helped lift myself out of depression through poetry, music, and gratitude. I recommend the same to others I know who may be suffering depression or simply not experiencing the “fullness of life” that I believe the Divine intended us to enjoy. I appreciate this blog because it tells a story similar to my own. Many years ago, I helped lift myself out of depression through poetry, music, and gratitude. I recommend the same to others I know who may be suffering depression or simply not experiencing the “fullness of life” that I believe the Divine intended us to enjoy. However, the great tragedy I often find is that some of the people who hear me recommend this remedy to their unhappiness reject it out of hand. They will often turn to prescribed anti-depressants to “treat” their depression, but reject my drug-free recommendation. In fact, I think many people would rather hang on to their depressions than cure them.
