Gratefulness
I’m a recovering alcoholic. I use this site as part of my morning meditation.
*Relationships (with God, my wife, and my family) *My sobriety *Being a good writer
*Mountains *City skyline *Beautiful blue sky
MY EGO (which can be broken down): *My desire to always be right *My need for constant attention/admiration *My negative opinion of myself
*My thirst for knowledge *My ability to empathize/sympathize *My desire to cook food!
Oddly enough: when I got beaten almost to death in 2002. That was the beginning of many changes for me–a few negative ones, of course, like my physical disability which resulted from the beating. But long story short, some good things came of it: I started a new career, I eventually met the woman who became my wife, and I got sober. Suffice it to say that, despite my disability, my life is better now than it was prior to that beating.
*Being a supportive husband *Contributing to my household *Being a LEGAL DRIVER (just got my license again after many years of not having one)!
*Helps me realize I’m not as important as I often believe myself to be *Makes me feel better about myself *Aligns me with God
*My talent *My (and my wife’s) perseverance *The fact that if we do our very best, the universe will align for us
*Be honest *Try not to discriminate *RESPOND rather than react
