Gratefulness
My hot buttons. You know the ones that only take a gentle breeze to push!
General good health and mobility. At 57, I have an ache here and there but I take no medications.
Wholeheartedness from Brene Brown: “They really seem to engage with the world from this place of worthiness. You know, they say, yeah, I’m screwing things up and I’m imperfect and I’m afraid, but I’m still worthy of love and belonging, like their love and belonging wasn’t on the table, it wasn’t negotiable.”
My challenge as a consultant is to find balance and meaning in my work and life when my clients work 24×7 and even on vacation.
Happy Fathers Day Kevin
An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life…
“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.”
“One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.”
“The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindne...
“The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”
“This same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
“Which wolf will win?”
The old chief simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Maybe we can replace the word enemy with rivals. And by that, I mean those individuals with whom we “bang heads” with. If we can respect them and understand that as persons they are the sum of their life experiences we will gain a greater perspective.

I am currently in my tenth month of unemployment. I am 55 years old, have a BSEET, MSDS, PMP and an Advanced Certificate in Project Management from the University of Chicago. I am currently in my tenth month of unemployment. I am 55 years old, have a BSEET, MSDS, PMP and an Advanced Certificate in Project Management from the University of Chicago. This is my second time going through the “grinder”. I also took a hit from the 03 dot com bubble. I currently have a survival job at my friends ACE hardware store. I am grateful to a friend for giving me some some work to address some of the bills and… I am learning what it is like in retail. There is significant downward pressure on prices, some customers are really nice and others not so much. In addition I am very grateful for those individuals (sometimes complete strangers) who have tried to help me get a job
Kevin, I think you are spot on. Some people think forgiveness means you are allowing that person to hurt you again. The repairing of the relationship is another matter. The person who broke your trust has to rebuild it with you.
I second that sentiment!
Kevin, I always try to have two singles on me whenever I take the train to the city. The first is for the Salvation Army person and the second is for the first panhandler I see. I can’t help them all but I can I help one of them.
Have a speedy recovery Kevin.
Kevin, I don’t know the type of surgery you are going to have but two of my friends had herniated discs repaired with great results.
Another motivation to keep an open heart is to be ready to help her if she should become disillusioned with faith in general.
