Gratefulness
It has been a wonderful week of reflection on all for which I am so deeply grateful. The suggestions were just the nudge I needed to open up a bit as I go about my daily business – smile and ask how someone’s day is going, spend time talking when I planned to do some studying while waiting….things that otherwise I would not have done – being so very focused on my own agenda. I am in a period of discernment – waiting to understand what I can do with my gifts and talents to help those who do not enjoy the privileges I have always had. I am so grateful for the privilege to take time to find out what my next steps will be.
I deeply appreciate being able to spend a night with my daughter, enjoying her simple but lovely small apartment, and sharing coffee and hot soup on a cold winter day.
Time with a cherished one, sunrises, and watching a cold front move in are experiences for which I am profoundly grateful.
Simple things, noticed by trying to slow down and pay full attention to the moments of the day. My day was richer, made even more so by your posts.
The thoughts that nothing is promised, and things change are very freeing. Keeping them in mind is helping me to be flexible and present to the moment, grateful for the moment.
