Gratefulness
By pausing, breathing and allowing awareness of the moment to rise, which shows up in this space spontaneously. So what I will try to exercise today is to be pausing internally and breathing consciously as often as possible while following my daily activities and see what comes up. If by the end of the day I will have something more to contribute, I will let you know, if you don´t mind.
Limiting beliefs are all the self- restrictions we internally and painfully run against, which might be fear of being excluded, of being not allowed to… or of fear of failure for example, of of doubts. Usually, going for the opposite is helpful, like including all instead of feeling excluded, or giving ourselves permission to do …. instead of feeling being not allowed. Recently, I understood some of these mechanisms and may be it is of help here. So, a way could be to first let go ...
So, a way could be to first let go of limiting beliefs that are hinderances in our minds only and instead install the positive desired inner position. We always do have the choice to take this or that inner position, to “weigh the alternatives in our hearts” (analogue to J. Kornfield`s recent word for the day) and then we can decide to go for the better choice. It requires to be alert and aware when we fall back, so I am currently observing myself and call myself back to the track when falling back into old habits of mind.
For sure I would agree with Ed, it is both. Thich Nhat Hanh stated, that “we are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness”, which is both our task and mission, so to say. And if we can add something to help each other to experience and add to this task and mission, I feel we are helping each other to be leading a happy, peaceful, all-enclosing life, with deep gratitude and full of joy. This would be just fulfilling our life´s destination, coming back home.
Falling seven times and rising eight times. It came to my mind always in the right moment when I needed to focus on the light which always is there.
by pausing, taking one conscious deep breath and then another, giving space for silence for just one moment and then be free to follow what life asks from me, may it be being busy or what else is required. The space opens for the gifts of this day, the fresh morning, the wonderful first cup of coffee, birds singing, of being alive and being joyfully together with others. To look at all people, all living beings and all circumstances with a tender heart.
I feel very much inspired by the daily questions and your answers here, for which I am very thankful. Being part of this community is giving daily joy to me, and I hope I can pass on the gift to you in return through sharing and contributing with own reflections.

Sometimes your comments here inspire even my writing on how we can overcome suffering and may find peace and freedom. Since young age I was led by this ideal, and as we share these universal and fundamental human themes here, it is kind of unavoidable for a part to let the writing be influenced as well by this sharing in a way. Your comments help to clear my mind and are of much support to include a wider perspective. For both I am deeply grateful. I hope one day the writing will be published in German language so that through publishing it, it could be of help and support for others. Serving and may be inspiring others in this way would be great joy.
Currently it is writing about what matters most to me, which is how we can overcome suffering, which is unavoidable, but “curable”. To give my little part of support to this ideal. How to live with love, joy, peace and freedom in this world so that this may give hope and motivation for others to go for this to create a better world all together. The themes we all share here and which inspire us to grow and do our best. Probably I will not be able to write the next days, I will miss ...
Currently it is writing about what matters most to me, which is how we can overcome suffering, which is unavoidable, but “curable”. To give my little part of support to this ideal. Always! And the deeper the gratefulness, the deeper happiness unfolds inside and all around. So grateful for this path and all your help here and for these beautiful questions in this forum. Have a good day you all out there, and greetings especially to you, Kevin.
By embracing life with a big smile on my face, gratefully and wholeheartedly, and then go for it.
Gratitude lights the light inside, and gratefulness comes back as a direct reflection from all that we are grateful for. It is like a refined scent of incense that comes and gives the gift of joy and beauty to our soul.
Dear Antoinette, if I may say something concerning your question, letting go of the “contents of our little self” seems to be a bit like getting rid of old possessions that no longer serve us. May be the exercise of breathing consciously while being aware of the space in between all things and thoughts may help getting out of our heads? So making space a door to freedom of mind? May be leading to changing old habits of mind that we once installed to establish our little self? I do...

Dear Pilgrim, I wonder if you missed to read the second part of today`s question? At least since I got to know you here, you are such an inspiration and support in your presence and feed back. To me this was especially true after the pilgrimage we both shared, when you were the one to support with courage and hope. I feel like borrowing one of Ed´s favorites: “be well be present” ????
Dear Kevin, so good to hear you already feel some amelioration beyond the state of before! I press my thumbs to broad extension of re-gaining capacities and possibilities as much as possible. Thanks for sharing how you are doing. Have another good day of recovery.
Thank you, dear Antoinette, and have a good day, too!
Thank you dear Palm for your interest and kindness!
Thank you very much for explaining. It is really great how you have overcome and let go of so very difficult themes and illness. You are really a role model for us. Thanks so much!
Dear Christina, since quite some time I wonder what this 12 step recovery / growth is about. Would you mind to explain a bit more please? I could fully echo your post even up to writing and hopefully publishing about themes that matter deeply to me as well. God and deepening spiritual commitment all inclusive… Have a good day, and thank you!
Hello dear friend! So good to hear that all went well for you. All the best for the ongoing recovery and much care and joy for you!
Sending all good wishes and prayers to him as well. All good energies may support and protect him.
Echoing Pilgrim and holding you in my prayers, too. All the best for your operation and full recovery.
