Gratefulness
Seeing family in a cemetery immediately creates an impulse to redouble efforts on the spiritual path and vigorously resolve to transcend the fetters of the flesh.
You describe your experience so peacefully. I guess I am not prepared to deal with having some family be distant ancestors yet, not where I am in my own spiritual cultivation. Life & death hits like a brick to my soul when it gets that close. I am glad I found a solution.

Heaven (Poem) [translate heaven to Western Pure Land for Buddhists], Harry Lyman Koopman
Out of the world of illusion into the world of truth, From the world of change and dying to the world of fadeless youth; Where the eye of man unclouded shall look on the things that are, And the heart of man unwithered be free from sorrow and care; And the life of man unfettered by bonds of time and space, Shall bloom as a god’s, unsleeping, yea, lit by God’s own face. O Father, ’tis that fair Kingdom Thy hands have wrought for men; From Thee was their beginning, to Thee they return again. But forget not, O heart anhungered, that now, and here on the earth, Mayst thou dwell in that heavenly city, mayst thou see with the soul’s new birth; For whoso liveth and striveth in service of truth and of love, To him yieldeth earth already the blessings promised above.
Complain less. Idk if not complaining at all is possible for me. Sigh. I guess I’m in the right place?
I am not able to teach others anything as I am not a Master. I would be ashamed to assert my ego so far as to try and teach (surely I have made this folly in the past) when I have not achieved utterly complete and irreversible self-mastery.
Such is my path.

I like this interpretation of comfort.
Lately I have come to view personal comfort as an enemy to my spiritual path.
But bestowing comfort upon others is glorious.
I think this quote of the Buddha’s teachings says how I feel towards this question as it relates to where I am:
“To cease from evil, to do good, and to purify the mind yourself, this is the teaching of all the Buddhas.”
~ Shakyamuni Buddha ☸️ ~
The love of my family. And the living, breathing teachings available by modern day Masters that I will approach in the flesh when the time is the right.
I have no idea. By remaining non-judgmental. I don’t think I am going to actively go around looking for people to include, as I don’t feel I am deliberately excluding anyone I guess is the way I feel about this.
Time is illusory. Money even more so. And yet this world beckons you to think they are real and substantial. So from a worldly standpoint, indeed, ⌚ is ????
Thank you for this.
Get used to these. Lol, I know what you mean. Some days I just don’t answer them as they imply you must be a certain way…
Ed your answers never fail to make me think, deeply.
I like it. I know for me, clinging to a strong sense of self = suffering.
And thank you for the encouragement!!
There is always room for growth. Inside and out. In this world, cultivation of virtue and compassion never ceases.
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” – Buddha
I understand that devas in one of those heavens communicate with light. They send out rays of light as their language, truly an otherworldly sight. Much more refined than the crude language of humans.
Granted they were once human too, and may be again.

Alas, these statements are based on Buddhist cosmology and some might find them foreign and even unbelieveable.
I strive to do this too. Sharing with someone in need is always more rewarding than keeping something for yourself.
Even sharing freely just to make others smile is more rewarding than hoarding.
You might be surprised how many people hoard things, or even energy and non-material goodnesses, that they could easily offer to others without living deprived of having ‘enough’.
Nailed it.
I allow the universe to exclude those I should not come in contact with. I think if we come into contact with someone, it is because we are meant to. As for creating a boundary, I’m fine with trusting the nation’s system of law to do that for me if it needs be done. How can I willingly create a boundary excluding a fellow human being otherwise?
Isn’t that the truth.
