Gratefulness
My goal is to be a whole lot more like my dogs, able to live in the moment and just be grateful.
I am especially thankful for the person who made my fleece sweater. The weather is capricious right now, and this morning is just cool enough to need it. Aaahhhhh!
I think about these folks, sometimes, all the way on the other side of the world, often working under appalling conditions for low wages so that the people above them can prosper…and I can have my sweater. When this comes to mind, I say a little prayer for the people who made my bit of clothing and ask for their burden...

I am very blessed to have a husband who has helped nurse me through some very dark days with his patience and kindness. I am grateful for a number of friends who have shown me kindness in so many forms, for the kindness of my acupuncturist, herbalist, and counselor. I am thankful for the kindness of God who reminds me every time I am feeling down or stranded that He is with me and will not leave me; no matter how many times I falter, I am not tossed aside but encouraged to keep going.
It really helps to stop and consider deeply the many forms of kindness in our lives, whether Divine, human, or animal, even the kindness of Nature with soft spring breezes and lovely flowers. This is especially true when we are perplexed or sad and seeing the darker side of life. When we change our focus to what is right in our world rather than what is lacking, we often become aware that we are very very blessed!
My relationship with my husband and my relationships with my friends and those in my Family of Choice. I’d also have to say that my trust in the love God has for me appreciates as well. The past nine years have been rough on multiple levels, and yet, we have never been alone or friendless. Our most important needs have been met, even if we had a different idea of need priority than God did. 😉 (That’s where some trust lessons get learned!) We have some awesome people who have stuck with us all along, and my appreciation for their steadfast love just grows.
I am very very blessed.
Nature and quiet help me listen best, and when I cannot find quiet in my environment, I work to find that space within myself. I cannot function without the ability to be still and listen. Without it, everything just goes kablooey!
Love. Love that has been, Love that is, Love that will be, and of course the Source of all Eternal Love.
Practicing the deep breathing techniques in qi gong help me be more aware of my breath and its healing power.
Good for you that you walked the pathway out…it is no easy road. Blessings for continued success of your journey.
I agree!
And your words have humbled me, dear Anna. Thank you.
A lot of letting go going on here as well — isn’t it amazing how we DO appreciate the process and the result of letting go, even if it is challenging? 😉
I have wondered about trying that faith tradition myself, largely for the same reason. My idea of the perfect church would be a candlelit stone grotto in the woods somewhere. What was spoken would be only that which was necessary, and we would all leave in silence, pondering. Perhaps I have an inner hermit. 😉
