It is interesting that when thinking about the question of what feelings or situations hold me back from wholeheartedness, it is that part of me that would drop everything and run that screams the loudest. As if to say Yes, yes, I am the one holding you back. But this fickle voice is also the jester, dressing truth up in the trumpery of a lie to torment and distract one from one’s deepest purpose, all the while signposting as garishly and as vividly as possible the direction that leads straight to the truth… What then is my golden grain? Where does this Pied Piper lead me? To a need for solitude and deep, extended contemplation; a need for the performance of a daily sacrament to honour the invisible life within; a need for pilgrimage across the fields and forests of settled society to distil that precious alchemical brew at the heart of life…
