Gratefulness
Good morning dear friends, thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. The healing power emanating from this circle of dear ones is beyond measure. Having been in the medical field for fifty years, I’ve seen the good works performed by those caring for the sick and sometimes the dying. Medicine has come a long way, managing illness without the need of surgery. But…..as I’ve aged, I’ve come to realize that the healing power of a prayer, a poem, or simply a wa...
But…..as I’ve aged, I’ve come to realize that the healing power of a prayer, a poem, or simply a warm, loving thought from a friend or loved one can do so much. I am thankful for my doctor, the nursing staff, and the antibiotics, but it is good folks like you who lift my spirit each time I step into the circle. With love and blessings to all.
We All Fall Down
At times More than we care to admit We stumble I trip over stuff Every damn day
What junk gets in your way? When you come upon the fallen tree in the road Know that He is there Don’t take the detour Plow thru
He is the light He is the way Just say yes
Even in the darkest nite Just tell him
I will follow thee

Trees
From seedling to the clouds Majestic beings Solitary, quiet guardians Keeping watch over God’s front yard
How little we know, and less We appreciate
They shield us from wind and rain Offer a hiding place For wee little ones Come out, come out……
Pups love to fetch The countless limbs fallen As these behemoths shed their skins To offer new life for those such as we
Even giants face the in...
Even giants face the inevitable Time takes its toll You have given us much Pray, we realize We must save what remains
For the sake of our children

Hi Nancy, it is good to be back. You certainly may keep a copy. The best part of writing, is the sharing.
Hi Diane, I’ve missed seeing and interacting with the good folks in the Lounge. I was hospitalized for 10 days due to a perforation in my large intestine. I developed an abscess and I’ve been on antibiotics since Jan. 22. I was released on Wednesday with the hope of healing via daily IV antibiotic (to avoid surgery) I’m no hero, it was tough for a while, but I am on the mend, albeit slowly. More tests next week and a visit with my surgeon to see where things stand. Each of us deals with pain, sometimes physical, sometimes emotional, often the emotional coming as a result of the physical burdens we face. God is with me, always. Thankful that I have you good folks to lean on. I will persevere. Blessings on everyone. Take each day as it was intended……a true gift from above.
Morning Ose, enjoy your walk. Winter can be tough at times, but also beautiful, and yes calming. We are having a big weather changes where I live, going from snow to warmer temps and rain. Not unusual for my neck of the woods. Be well this day
Morning Nancy. Love those rocks my friend. By now, you must be out the door for your walk. I am low key today, home with a bug (or maybe something I ate last night) It’s good to come to the Lounge any day, but certainly when I’m feeling a “bit off”. Lifts my spirit. Blessings one an all this day
Dear Cintia, blessings on you and your husband, that you are safe and sound. What a scare you must have had. Situations like that drive home “present in the moment” don’t they? Minus the scare, it was a wonderful day for you both and one that you will long remember.
Cintia, what a beautiful picture you describe. Light rain on the roof is poetry and a wonderful way to fall into slumber.
As evening draws nigh We brush all our troubles off our shoulders Like so many leaves falling to the ground It is a quiet time, a healing time When morning dawns, we will face a new day With the heart of a lion
Morning Nancy, on the mornings when I’m not working, I look forward to sitting in my den with coffee and my laptop. Instead of reading the daily news (too sad more often than not), I log into Gratefulness.org. Reading the posts, I feel connected and at home. It is like family when you can share the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of our lives. We rejoice collectively in the wins, and provide community hugs when one of us is down. It is like family when you can share the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of our lives. We rejoice collectively in the wins, and provide community hugs when one of us is down. You good folks are with me as I begin each day. You walk with me as I hike the forests and I find comfort in knowing you will be here tomorrow and the next day. Blessings to you Nancy and to everyone on this Sunday.
Morning Manda, your words……….”we were present in the moment” ring so true. Being in the moment can be a challenge when we are faced with heavy hearts or physical burdens. Your spirit and Jack’s exuberance is truly inspiring. Sending you & Jack Bear love and hugs. Be well this day!!
Good morning Grateful, hope for the future indeed. I thank God for my eyes and ears each & every time I venture out into the wood. Always in awe, always in love with the beauty surrounding me.
Hi Diane, thank you for sharing. I love the line….”Even the rocks and trees recite poetry”
Welcome Aria. We come here to share stories of the wonderful happenings in our lives, and to open our hearts when we are burdened with sadness, illness, and at times a loss of self worth. We do not judge. We are colorblind. We are just people, doing the best we can each and every day. Some of us have been blessed with four legged friends, whom we treasure. We are here for each other, and we welcome you. We are community. We are sanctuary.
A beautiful picture Nancy, thank you for sharing. One can almost feel the wisdom eminating from her wood. Appreciating every day, every trail I walk, every critter, tree, and footfall upon new snow. In the midst of chaos, this community is a true haven, our sanctuary. Blessings on you Nancy and on each and every one
Thank you Diane. I feel so blessed to have discovered this community. I often quote John Muir…..”Going to the woods, is going home”. I feel I am at my best when in the forest. I feel connected spiritually, and always in awe. The tall pines, like a church spire rising to Heaven’s Gate. Be well this day.
Morning Nancy, I love the rock paintings, and the sentiment is beautiful. You have talent. Several years ago, while on a hike, I came across a tall pine with many painted rocks and small branches at the base of the pine. Most were just painted with different colors, but a few had designs (a leaf or stick children). I felt as though the person or persons who left them, intended that they should be shared. So…………each time I visited that forest, I took one. :). I have man...

I have many of these scattered throughout my home, and they add warmth and make me think back on the wonderful journeys I’ve taken in the forests near my home. Blessings to you and keep painting!!
Hi Patjos, I will keep an eye on the blog and decide which poems fit well. The other option, you can always “grab” one from the Gratitude Lounge if u see one u like. 🙂
Hi Lauren, so wonderful that you could spend time with your daughter. As my daughters have grown, with children of their own, I find that I cherish the time I spend with them even more so. It’s a blessing knowing that they truly enjoy spending time with me, as your daughter clearly does with you. “I’m grateful for eyes that see my blessings and a heart that feels it.” Wonderful sentiment Lauren. Oh Manda, you are a poet………”A bald eagle and crows dancing chaperone on a forest drive ???? A bear who snuggles up on the couch. ” Your sweet heart makes me smile. Sending hugs and love.
