Gratefulness
Smiles as we pass each other. It’s always smiles for me.
Would love to write a card to Brother David to thank him for being him and for his teachings!
Probably take it easy, go slow. I’m a little under the weather plus there have been some tough-to-take temperature changes here. It’s so hard for me to slow down! But I work 7-3 tomorrow, with a 45-minute commute so showing kindness toward myself by slowing down is indicated.
I’m afraid I can’t speak on this one. Too often, a hangnail upsets me as much being ill. Look forward to the wisdom others can offer in this regard. Would love to have perspective, to be, that lovely word: right-sized.
I like to make a friend and my mother laugh, and I’m generally pretty successful. I enjoy this. I may be a little too sarcastic in my humor but they enjoy it. I like to make them laugh and hope I add a bit of joy to their day. (Feeling a little peaked today: adverse reaction to the flu and pneumonia shots I got last week. 🙁
I’m trying to heal a deep-seated hurt from long ago. A friend gave me a beautiful prayer of forgiveness that is helping. It’s funny, my life is so much better today, for which I am so grateful, that this old, old hurt needs to be attended to. It’s long overdue; I’ve carried it for many, many years–and it hurts!
That it is good and pleasant. Sometimes I’m amazed at how much so. For a very long time, this wasn’t the case for me, so it’s a continuing revelation.
The beautiful weather we’re experiencing in the east. To tell the truth, I’m a little weary of summer, and yes, even of beautiful weather But the long grey days of winter are coming; and I would be well advised to treasure these jewels of days.
Yesterday, I visited Mom. I brought her clean laundry and took down her garbage and recyclables. She gave me three large Greek yogurts, a bag of sweet potatoes, broths for my cat Lucy, and a package of toilet paper. We do this exchange every Wednesday.
I too, Susan, cherish early mornings. I’m a morning person through and through! My cat is usually at the foot of my bed watching me when I awake. I stretch loudly and welcome the new day. I feel so grateful for it. Then it’s on to the glorious first cup of coffee of the day and my morning daily meditation books.
The awareness of God, of God in everything.
The wind in the trees – I think the most beautiful music in the world. It speaks to me of change, of things moving. Heard a lot of it yesterday (the remnants of Hurricane Jose.)
It is exponentially better through surrender to God’s plan for my life. Case in point: this weekend, I plan to visit the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy in New York. I am open and opening to life and its gifts.
Nice, Trevor!
Thanks, Always!
