Gratefulness
Burgundy. It is a mixture of red and blue, maybe a tad of gray, green or black. Combination. As far as an ode to it: i’m not a poet and don’t I know it!!
My son. After I was divorced, ALL of my money was taken by the IRS because my husband owed back taxes and he was under their radar. My son paid my rent, but he also told me I would always be taken care of. Fortunately, I found a wonderful situation that redeemed the pain and anguish, but knowing I would never be abandoned meant renewed life for me.
I have a dream that in a parallel universe I am still married to my childhood sweetheart and one daughter has not been molested and the other daughter separated from me by her fundamentalist belief in which I am condemned. Our family would be intact, we would be a source of peace, acceptance, respect and love for each other. My grandchildren would grow up surrounded by extended family.

Inspire, like ecstasy and passion are words that are intense and brilliant. My experience of life is more subdued hence grateful, content, encouraged are more expressive. Having said that, I think many people, some animals, and the years have contributed to my endeavors to live an authentic life. My answer seems non specific and all encompassing, bu...

Every one I meet and those who come to mind.

My beloved creates every meal we eat (which is two daily). That is where his creativity and passion shines forth. We have a prayer of thanksgiving before we eat. My eating mindfully is a celebration of our relationship and the food on the plate. I remember the animal whose body I am now eating and am reminded of what Gibran wrote in The Prophet; “And let your board stand an alter on which the pure and the innocent of forest and plain are sacrificed for that which is purer and still more inn...

I remember the animal whose body I am now eating and am reminded of what Gibran wrote in The Prophet; “And let your board stand an alter on which the pure and the innocent of forest and plain are sacrificed for that which is purer and still more innocent in man.” I try not to hurry through but savor and appreciate. We eat by candlelight and the time feels sacred. Afterwards, I clean up grateful to have participated in an act of love.
I read the nine comments posted thus far and agreed wholeheartedly with each one. My challenge is to maintain that awareness more often than not today, all my todays and nows.
