Gratefulness
I am an Essene Christian ( read as Esoteric rather then Exoteric) referencing the teachings of Dr Stylianos Atteshlis (aka Daskalos)
where can I be still and listen?
There is only One place …as Yunus so eloquently points to it.
“We entered the house of realization” by Yunus Emre
We entered the house of realization, we witnessed the body.
The whirling skies, the many-layered earth, the seventy-thousand veils, we found in the body.
The night and the day, the planets, the words inscribed on the Holy Tablets, the hill that Moses climbed, the ...
The night and the day, the planets, the words inscribed on the Holy Tablets, the hill that Moses climbed, the Temple, and Israfil’s trumpet, we observed in the body.
Torah, Psalms, Gospel, Quran — what these books have to say, we found in the body.
Everybody says these words of Yunus are true. Truth is wherever you want it. We found it all within the body.

What are the simplest things that bring me joy?
“Stay close to anything that makes you glad you are alive. HAFIZ”
My comment then s….Anything that makes me aware I am alive. ( because being reminded that I am ALIVE, makes all “anythings” simple in comparison)
The ‘Daily Word’ answered the ‘Daily question’ !
What are the riches in my life that cannot be lost?
All qualities of LIFE known as “The Kingdom of Heaven” which have been acquired during past Life experiences and those acquired during this present life time, combined. These provide the foundation for the next incarnation (including Theosis and beyond ).
Quoting Br David here, “There is no way to God’s Kingdom-God’s Kingdom IS the way. Or, as Saint Catherine of Siena put it: “All the way to ...
Quoting Br David here, “There is no way to God’s Kingdom-God’s Kingdom IS the way. Or, as Saint Catherine of Siena put it: “All the way to Heaven is Heaven”.”
Quoting Kristi here “We often begin to truly practice gratefulness once we realize that we may not have full agency over all that happens in our lives, but recognize that we have choices about how to direct our attention and actions. ”
So true and as practicing Essene Christian and a Researcher of Truth we have a prayer which I chose to repeat many, many time per day because it is one of the “practices” which maintains my Centered-ness in Being-ness. The prayer is….
...
“Absolute Infinite Being-ness; God. Everlasting Life, Love and Mercy Manifesting Yourself in Yourself, As your Total Wisdom and the Almightiness. Enlighten our minds to Understand you as the Truth, Clean our hearts to reflect Your Love towards You, and Towards all other Human beings.
Amen
For myself any form of Gratefulness comes out of the basic fact that ( and this is stated clearly in the above prayer as “manifesting yourself in yourself”) I and every Human Being IS a God, experiencing God, for God.
This being the first day after Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection, it seems appropriate to ownership of the Greatest gift of all …the experience ( yes including here all the imagined hardships ) of Being a Human Being. And “Awareness”( and in the researchers of Truth a method of developing awareness is by “Introspection” ) is indeed one one the “5 Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven”.
But without a clear understanding that we Human Beings are ‘Dual in One’ ( meaning BOTH in a Human form …bodies, physical, Psychical, Noetical …and our Divine Spirit-Soul-Self ) it is very easy to fall into the situation which, unfortunately, so many New Age practices do. They get side-tracked and diverted into ways of strengthening egoism rather then dis-energizing their egoism ( even Tollle admits 95% of material in spiritual book store is counterproductive ) rather then “enlightening” them. ( well it is true their bank accounts get “lighter” 😉 ) So it is essential to appreciate, first and foremost, what you, as a Dual existence, are working with.
But there again I return back to the prayer above …” Everlasting Life, Love and Mercy Manifesting Yourself in Yourself, As your Total Wisdom and the Almightiness.”……which maintains that even that egoism is God because God ( the source of all existence) is within it. So, gratefully, it will as the old folks say, “It will All come out in the wash”, eventually.

Revisited a part of Br David’s “Deeper then Words” this morning… the section of “Reserection”
This fits very well with this article and this point in time …Easter and the Resurrection of “Body awareness”.

Start Quote: To neglect either Spirit or body has detrimental consequences for both. Disembodied spirit becomes impotent. Bodily reality, separate from Spirit, loses its dignity and falls prey to abuse. Rape of the environment is shocking proof of this artificial and untenable separation. Ascetics of all traditions have often gone too far, mistreating their bodies instead of seeing them as temples of the Holy Spirit. They sought to strengthen the Spirit by weakening the body, as if the body were not a tool of the Spirit, but an enemy. The body may be hard to handle at times, but without this tool, what could we accomplish? How could we serve the crying needs around us?
On the other hand when the body is no longer the tool and expression of the Spirit within it, how can it thrive? It is one and the same life-force that drives our bodily appetites and guides us toward our loftiest goals. Deprived of this guidance, our body resembles a runaway car. It careens into abuse of every kind. In any 12-step meeting you will hear life stories that illustrate and prove this point. The same abuse we inflict on our bodies when we no longer experience them as embodiment of Spirit, we perpetrate on our environment when we forget that it, too, is alive with divine life-force. Imagine how different our world would look if we recognized Earth as our wider bodily existence. We reverence and cherish every form of life the moment we become aware that it is animated by the divine Spirit. Faith in THE RESURRECTION OF THE BODY is intimately bound up with reverence for the whole cosmos. END QUOTE
Where is there “small beauty” around me right now?
I can not say there is such a possibility in existence as a “small beauty”. “Beauty” is a dimensionless state in which we experience our Being-ness unimpeded by any form of “conceptual ” thinking””. (aka “classifying”).
Good question thought as it links in with where I happen to be re-reading Br David’s, “Deeper then Words” …specifically …”suffered under Ponticus Pilot”……….Pilot being ...
Good question thought as it links in with where I happen to be re-reading Br David’s, “Deeper then Words” …specifically …”suffered under Ponticus Pilot”……….Pilot being the “worldly classifier” playing his assigned role in this case of Mankind being reminded of who and WHAT we are, beyond name and form…….Selective quoting here to highlight what is happen to us when one opens awareness and the sensation of “Beauty” occurs……..“You may remember moments in which you were most truly yourself precisely because you lost yourself, say, looking at the starry sky or at a sleeping baby. Suddenly the sharp border by which you set yourself off from others fades away. In those peak moments we can get a taste of what the mystics call “communion with God,”….[great way of expressing “beauty” ] though all the emphasis is on limitless belonging, not on any notion of that to which we belong. [[ that is what I call “dimensionless”]]….It would seem impossible to experience this deep belonging and not to commit oneself wholeheartedly, for it fulfills our deepest desire. But for most of us the memory of our peak experience fades. [[[ yes the “Prodigal Son”, rememberer his Princehood, is the opposite of that fading/forgetting ]]] In our most genuinely alive moments [[which is “beauty”]], we become aware of a life-force within us that is not subject to decay. In these moments we experience what Maslow calls the B-values-facets of the diamond of Being-beauty, truth, goodness, and the like. You may look at (and smell) an orchard in full bloom, listen to David Whyte reciting a poem of profound truth, or watch firefighters on the evening news, and suddenly you experience with a shiver of recognition that your own life is indestructible because it is animated by the beautiful, true, good, and indestructible life-force. [[[[ AMEN to that brother David AMEN!!!]]]]This being-in-the-flow of Life, this being-accurately-set right with Being, goes also by the names of righteousness andjustice. When we catch a glimpse of it, when we get the slightest taste of it, we understand intuitively what Psalm 16:9 wants to say: “You [God] will not let your righteous one see corruption.” …………..[[[[and an as a Researcher of Truth it means that the “Pontious Pilot” (the corruptible ego-ism, in each Human Being will merge with their truth Self (the incorruptible) Christhood ……which is exactly what all experiences of “Beauty” are!

How can I make my life more meaningful, starting today?
Rumi makes good advice for this day called, “Good Friday”
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened,
Don’t open the door to the study and begin reading. Take down a musical Instrument
Let the beauty we love be what we do. Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and Kiss the ground.
This is an exceptional article and so very very timely for this day on the Christian Calendar!

This day being the day of remembering of a certain Being’s body being abused….or so it is most often reported in current time. But if one is knowledgeable in the Original teaching of the Essene Christians ….then it is known not as a torcher event….. but a much much richer meaning ….It symbolizes the cross which is built in ‘The Symbol of Life’. This Symbol of Life is a complete, detailed, model of the Human Body, with its Centre column ( of light), three horizontal bars, ten major centres and many many interconnections. ( Please, This is not to be confused with the Eastern Chakra system of the Jewish “Tree of Life ) The Symbol of Life concerns all three Bodies, Noetical, Psychical and Physical as well as their corresponding Etheric Doubles ( the energy bodies which are in and around each body and interconnect the three bodies)
You are so right to say, “The mental change that took place was a change from doing actions out of fear and hatred to doing actions out of love. I used to exercise and diet out of fear of gaining weight, and out of hatred for my appearance. ”
And may I add that the Intelligence which actually DO the maintaining, the Archangels, the “Lords of the Elements”, Micheal (fire, heat), Raphael ( etheric vitality, magnetism, electric current in the nervous system) Gabriel ( water, liquids) and Urial ( the balancer of the three others) are REJOICING and welcoming you “HOME” to your body, with is the gift given to each Human and we will always have its forma , even after Theosis. These Archangels are charged with the responsibility of maintaining….(no Human mind will ever be able to comprehend the enormous complexity which is the Human bodies) …..but with Right thinking / Right Mental attitude ( as you have outlined so very well ) we can make their work easier.
We can also assist them by educating our selves in awareness of the body with the wonderfully detailed books now available “Atlas of the Human Body” by Beverly McMillan is one example. This, combined with relaxed, relaxed, relaxed meditations, and moving slowly around various points of the body ….getting acquitted with the Etheric Double of various points…IOb by isolating the Etheric Bodies feeling/giving ether at each point ( Etheric Vitality after all, IS, Mind Super Substance) you are strengthening the Etheric Double ( The material body is simply matter ..that has no sense of feeling) and there by, ALL over Heath …including Spiritual, Psychical and Noetical heath.

In the garden of life, what do the weeds teach me?
The so-called “weeds” are, in fact, my greatest teaches….they are the ones there to make sure I ,,….as the Sufi say…”don’t go back to sleep”….There is nothing in the manifest existence called “Life” which is not there to be experienced and not have a reason behind it………..as it is said in 1 Corr. 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion but of...
14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion but of Peace. This is valuable to keep in mind especially with all the “confusion” which arrises around Easter in the media and its ( all be it good intentions) reporting on the Real ( real to them anyway) Life of Joshua Emanuel the Christ.
So the “weeds” are there as visitors, visitors inviting the experiencer to go into, by Introspection, and discover what it Truly is to be a Human Being.
The Christian Mystic Daskalos sums it up in these words of wisdom.
“So this is this work of every Seeker of the Truth. Instead of being a slave of circumstances, his desires and emotions, leaving the Mind [to be as] as a slave to our desires and being even our self the slave of our personal egoism [ but rather to, instead ] wake up as a personality, controlling our behavior and know now the truth, instead of being misguided by allusions so that we will reach what I call the “Self-Consciousness” of our present-day personality. And believe me this is a great, great, day. You’ll find out that really now, you live in a better way and for you now life is precious and is getting a new value now. Something more. You start respecting that self, even as a present-day-personality, while before you had no respect for your personality.
So introspection is looking within, analyzing your present-day personality self-consciousness and making corrections. You will not losing anything! You’re gaining much!! So by trying to annihilate the egoism you gain your Ego. You assimilate your present-day personality self to your Real Ego Self, the SPIRIT, Yes!!” END QUOTE
What are some of the joys that come from being exactly the age I am right now?
That I am as old ( in earthly ‘time’ ) as I want to be… and as young as I want to be …….BOTH at the same time!
But also….as I see myself at the Psyhco-noetical realm ( iow as I witness myself in the so-salled “dream state” ) I am 25 – 27 years old. So the questioner has to be more specific about what he/she means by “right now”!!!
RUMI: “Be like melting snow. Wash yourself with yourself.”

The author here to touching on a fact of Being Human but seems to not want to go as far as it should go,…..
As an Essene Christian I will add that…yes we as accumulator ( or ragpickers if you prefer ) and we AS Human Beings being Human, are doing so over many, many incarnation in one continuous, never ending never beginning Life.
Yes we accumulate what Essence call “Elemental” Human in Nature Demons and Human in Nature Angels as well as generate/strengthen them by the way we live.
When around topic of “Live” it must be clearly understood that a Human Being is ‘Dual in One’…..as ‘time and place’ temporary personality self …..and Divine ….Permanent ‘Soul-Self’. Only the latter is Incarnated (not Reincarnated) into Human form to gain experiences ( that which this author is energetically pointing to ) It is up to the reader here to decide Who/What decides which “rags” are kept and which are dropped after each Earthly life cycle. 🙂 Happy picking!!
As the Sufis point out ..”it is not true to say, “Thank You”, it must be “Thank Us!”/…..because all we Humans Beings truly ever have… is each other.”
This point of theirs also identifies the Christhood which Joshua Emmanuel the Christ’s words within Matt 18;22, it is there now, waiting to be the active element in all of humanities actions. It is then we begin to use the potential we have been gifted to its true potential.
As Dr Lipson has confirmed, there i...
As Dr Lipson has confirmed, there is a tremendous ‘accumulative effect’ when that happens, “there emerges from our interaction a quality to the purpose itself that we could not have invoked alone.”
From “Br D.’s “Love your enemies” …Gratitude summed up in a nut shell
Love in every one of its forms is a lived “yes” to belonging. I call it a “lived yes”, because the very way loving people live and act says loudly and clearly: “Yes, I affirm and respect you and I wish you well. As members of the cosmic family we belong together, and this belonging goes far deeper than anything that can ever divide us.” In an upside-down way, a “Yes” to ...
Love in every one of its forms is a lived “yes” to belonging. I call it a “lived yes”, because the very way loving people live and act says loudly and clearly: “Yes, I affirm and respect you and I wish you well. As members of the cosmic family we belong together, and this belonging goes far deeper than anything that can ever divide us.” In an upside-down way, a “Yes” to belonging is even present in hatred. While love says this yes joyfully and with fondness, hatred says it grudgingly with animosity, gall. Still, even one who hates acknowledges mutual belonging. Have there not been moments in your life when you couldn’t say whether you loved or hated someone close to your heart? This shows that hatred is not the opposite of love. The opposite of love (and of hatred) is indifference.
Cut quoting the article here……
“Then …… Here is what Campbell was really saying: “I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality…” He was talking about all our experiences on the physical plane, not just the happy ones. He was talking about finding “resonances with our own innermost reality” even in the midst of total darkness. End Quote
I will borrow an often used expression which has been used in the world of “New Age” talk around spirituality……..
“Life is the dancer and you are the dance”
This expression is a only a half truth of course, one can sense that right away …or…if not…. your Guardian Archangel will soon be giving you a big scolding …saying something like …….”What? You are going to buy that?…No, you are not! because YOU are “Dual in ONE” You ARE the Life and you Are the dancer dancing in yourself. ….YOU are both Human ( are gifted with a physical body) AND you are Divine ( Psalm 82;6), God, at the same time!”
The pursuit of “meaning”, “happiness”, etc etc is simply the intellectual mind’s weakness of forgetting . Forgetting the “What you are beyond name and form”. And that is fine. It is well within the Divine Plan, because Divine Wisdom knew that weakness of “forgetting” would happen when the human experience was manifested. It is(in fact) one of the reasons for this human manifestation to Be. Be-ing-ness is getting experiences of “forgetfulness”! This is why Divine Wisdom has assigned a Guardian Archangel to each one of us, an over seer, just for when the human intellect gets way too for out of control and too close to destroying the temporary self. ( The Soul of course cannot be destroyed, or altered in any way, it is perfect and everlasting ).
All this doubt, anxiety and fear will be put to rest when the true teaching of Joshua Emanuel the Christ will be listened to and lived. It is all just simply, John 10;34 revisited.
White I can agree with the sentiments of this article I would respectfully suggest caution mixing the the word “Joy” with “happiness”. Yes, it is common in western society’s use of the English language…… but that is misleading.
Joy, just as is Gratefulness, is directly under the wing of Divine Love. These do not have an opposites. (IWO these vibrate at the level of conscious energy called “Non-Separateness.”)
“Happiness...
“Happiness” is not at that level of energy of consciousness. Happiness is driven by the temporary personality’s “desires” and therefore, once that desire is (having material, possessing power etc, ect ) fulfilled, it is soon forgotten or no longer satisfying. Happiness vibrates in the so-called “dualistic” realm of our Being-ness and cannot be compared to, or treated the same as, “Joy”.
These gestures will never become old or outdated …such is the nature of genuine Truth!
Although I agree with the sentiments of this article I wish to also expand the topic by referring to the opening pages of “Faith Beyond Belief” where Anselm Grun quotes C.J. Jung
…..In the first place, the ego is always present. C. G. Jung says that in the first half of life it is important to develop a strong ego; in the second half one centers on the Self. But that does not mean that the ego is entirely gone. Jesus says: “Deny yourself,” which means: distance yourself fr...
…..In the first place, the ego is always present. C. G. Jung says that in the first half of life it is important to develop a strong ego; in the second half one centers on the Self. But that does not mean that the ego is entirely gone. Jesus says: “Deny yourself,” which means: distance yourself from your ego. Get free of your ego. But I am skeptical when someone who is on a spiritual path says: I am altogether free of my ego. I am nothing but a self. The danger is that in saying this, one inflates one’s ego, feeling oneself to be something special and placing oneself above others”
and …In the same reference… Brother David continues,
…..”I think we need three concepts: Self, I, and ego. At the moment we are only using two: the Self and the ego. I find Ego, Fear, and Nothingness it more helpful to say that the Self expresses itself through the I. Sometimes we say “I” and sometimes, when we want to be emphatic, “I myself.” That is something totally positive: “I myself.” But the “I” can forget the Self. The “I” becomes fearful because it is only a single, isolated “I” among so many others. And out of that fear arises the ego. In the moment in which the “I” forgets the Self, it collapses in on itself, and that is what I call the ego. Ego is characterized by fear, and from fear come aggression, competitiveness, and meanness.”
For myself …..a westerner who has had to put-up with the products of western educations methods and its products ….I applaud Br David’s call out to conclude an addressing of Self, I, and Ego in ALL education systems for the primary purpose of ‘Common awareness of WHO, WHAT, and HOW we Humans are’.
Ego is not the main problem, lack of understanding of it is!!! As a practicing Essene Christian I differentiate ‘Ego’ from “egoism”. I am An ‘Egofied Archangel’ and I came into existence in this Being-ness accompanied by another Egofied Archangel , my Guardian Archangel. So I absolutely cannot demonize the Ego. There would be no Humans experiencing Being-ness with out it!!!
It is fine for those who Jung identified in the above quote … “in the second half one centers on the Self” those now set, (perhaps), in security materially, to begin saying “non’t hurry” but youth has equal value in developing their “Ego” BUT it would be helpful for them to do so without the danger of being taken over by worldly “egoism” habits. ( Commercialism, Advertising, Nationalism, etc) This is the ‘What and Were’ a Global education program is desperately required. BUT at the same time, please try to avoid the condescending aloofness so prevalent in the western Baby-boomer culture!!! 😉
I would called the Program, “Balance first…and then Simplicity…then Fun”

You are most welcome Patjos and thank you for adding the Liewllyn quote. I have sat with him, in his Sufi sohbets, when he visited Vancouver. I am an Essene Christian and the Sufi ( prior to it branching under religion) are our brothers. So much of their teachings are echoed in the teaching of Joshua Emmanuel the Christ. The “Love” Llewellyn is referring to in that quote is, of course, Divine Love. it is original Essence of all manifestation and therefore, our “Being-ness” as Humans, as he has so graciously described it.
A common Sufi expression which the Sufi ( Rumi, Hafiz, Shalms ) use is “I run from you, to you”. It is saying, “there is no escaping Divine Love”, because, “we are in IT and IT is in us”. To have the lower mind deny that is like a fish trying to deny water!
