Gratefulness
I am an Essene Christian ( read as Esoteric rather then Exoteric) referencing the teachings of Dr Stylianos Atteshlis (aka Daskalos)
What can I let go of today?RUMI Says it so well! One line of poetry covers all that requires “let go” of!“
Break the Wine Glass and fall towards the Glass Blowers breath”. RUMI
Who do I tend to take for granted?
My Holy Monadic Self and its exact duplicate, my Holy Guardian Archangel.
What can I do to change this?
Continue consciously working with both towards Self-Realization.
What one word could I focus on this week that could make me show up more gratefully?
The root cause of all existence. Without it existence would not be.
“Love”
How can I best love the world?
By Visualization and Prayer……such as the following ….
We have such a beautiful home, let’s no longer spoil it. Wish that there be no more pain, no more tears, no more bloodshed, wish that there be peace on earth. See people smiling,
Visualise the light …Golden Light…the Christ Light.,.. pouring over them . . . helping them to see clearly, , , helping them to see the truth, This is the light of God, spreading love in ...
Visualise the light …Golden Light…the Christ Light.,.. pouring over them . . . helping them to see clearly, , , helping them to see the truth, This is the light of God, spreading love in their hearts and reason in their thoughts , , , healing their wounds, bringing comfort in their sorrow,
Breathe deeply and pray:
“0 Merciful One, You spread out Your hands on the cross, and you gathered together the Nations that were far from You so that they may glorify Your great goodness.”
How would I live this day, if I thought it might be my last?

Once again, as the young boy wisely advised,
” Love Life, eat ice cream and Pet the Dog!” is how to BE in every day…whether you are in a mortal / physical / body or not!
RE-Poesting From Feb 2nd question
“How could a sense of gratitude shift my perspective in this moment?”
One sure way would be to absorb the wisdom within this BBC heaith article and then Apply it to one’s own Beingness. In an age of ..”Moral grandstanding in an Echo chamber”… it does the Heart and Soul good to hear from those who’s “perspective” does not fear mortal death …as one child said …”Dad mustn’t worry, he’ll see me again soon.”……..and instead say “Yes to Life”….and “pet the Dog”.
THAT is a true sense of Gratitude!

Doctor shares dying children’s wishes: ‘Be kind and eat ice cream’ By Sherie Ryder BBC UGC and Social News 1 February 2018
When a palliative paediatrician in South Africa saw too many negative stories appear on his Twitter feed, he decided to share some positive, inspiring thoughts of the terminally ill children in his care. Alastair McAlpine, from Cape Town, tweeted: “I asked some of my terminal paediatric palliative care patients what they had enjoyed in life, and what gave it meaning. Kids can be so wise, y’know. Here are some of the responses.”
Dr McAlpine told the BBC he wanted to write something uplifting, and was overwhelmed when he saw hundreds of responses to his tweet, which has been liked more than 10,000 times. At first he tried to respond to each comment. He said: “It’s extraordinary. I believe in thanking people when they say something nice, but there were just too many for me to reply to all of them.” None of the children, aged between four and nine, NONE said they wished they’d watched more TV NONE said they should’ve spent more time on Face Book NONE said they enjoyed fighting with others NONE enjoyed hospital
Animals played a huge part in their lives as they enjoyed talking about their pets. Dr McAlpine tweeted examples: “I love Rufus, his funny bark makes me laugh; I love when Ginny snuggles up to me at night and purrs; I was happiest riding Jake on the beach.”
MANY mentioned their pets: ‘I love Rufus, his funny bark makes me laugh.’ ‘I love when Ginny snuggles up to me at night and purrs’ ‘I was happiest riding Jake on the beach.’
Dr McAlpine trained in palliative care in May 2017 after he saw a huge gap in paediatric care. “When it came to kids dying, it seemed we weren’t prepared for what to do. The best part of my job now is that I get to meet these extraordinary children and families. I walk a special road with them,” he says. “As horrible as it is when a child dies, one of the best rewards is a dignified and pain-free death. If I can make their lives slightly less bad, it’s worthwhile. That keeps me going.”
One person who was impressed with the paediatrician’s tweets, was Canadian obstetrician, Dr Jennifer Gunter, who has frequently written about Gwyneth Paltrow’s advice on the actress’s lifestyle website.
Some people online asked how the paediatrician copes with working with terminally ill children, while others just admired both the medical staff and the children:
How on earth do you manage to keep your sanity, while working with kids who are terminally
After a child’s death, parents often continue a relationship with their child’s doctor, which Dr McAlpine says is a “huge compliment.”
From his online thread, the children also worry about their parents as one of his tweets read: “Hope mum will be OK; Dad mustn’t worry, he’ll see me again soon.”
MANY mentioned their parents, often expressing worry or concern:
‘Hope mum will be ok. She seems sad.’ ‘Dad mustn’t worry. He’ll see me again soon.’ ‘God will take care of my mum and dad when I’m gone’
MANY wished they had spent less time worrying about what others thought of them, and valued people who just treated them ‘normally’. ‘My real friends didn’t care when my hair fell out.’ ‘Jane came to visit after the surgery and didn’t even notice
It’s no surprise that kindness, laughter, toys and family were all very much valued by the children. As his threads unfolded and the comments poured in,
Dr McAlpine left this take-home message: “Be kind. Read more books. Spend time with our family. Crack jokes. Go to the beach. Hug your dog. Tell that special person you love them…
These are the things these kids wished they could’ve done more. The rest is details.
Oh… and eat ice-cream. /End
Working in palliative care can be heart-wrenching, but Dr McAlpine says he works with some “lovely people” at Paedspal Cape Town – a programme providing care for terminally ill children. “It’s an extraordinary team. We believe in a holistic approach to care. “The negativity can get me down. But I glean inspiration from the parents of these children.”

How can I cultivate peace in the midst of chaotic moments?
This was stated by Brother David in a ‘word of the day’ last week. I will post it below and also add the corresponding [Angel] and [Archangels] beside the element within the quote.

Br David is pointing to a very important universal symbol, the “cross” used long before adopted by any religions. Simply put he is referring the four elements, earth, water, fire….. ( the fourth being Ether , some traditions say ‘air’, for what ever reason Br David did mention this one ) of creation.
“Only if we become calm as earth [Shamal] , fluid as water [Gabriel], and blazing as fire [Michael] will we able to rise to the task of peacemaking.
BR. DAVID STEINDL-RAST
We Essenes perceive the symbol of the cross in detail this way………..
Gradually we will make progress through incarnation in matter, on the cross of the four elements: Earth, Water, Fire and Ether. This is the way towards real life and redemption. This is the way to the real resurrection -living in a fully awakened, Self-Aware state. This is a kind of life that cannot be compared with the life most people are living now in the shadows of their illusions instead of the light. And this light will rise from within each of us. But unless you forsake your egoistic self-you should not expect your personality self to be resurrected as the Soul-Self in Self-Realization.
“Toward what person can I open my heart, and make a needed difference for both of us?”
The best advice I have ever heard on this type of question is …
“Love all Human Beings, especially those who BELIEVE they are your enemy.”
DASKALOS ( from ‘The Gates to the Light’ exercises )
“If I let go of my complaints, what might be underneath?”
Strangely worded question!
Well it definitely won’t be a “what might be” and nor will it be anything “underneath” those attitudes which egoism uses to block off the light of ones Beingness.
What will be “there”, above all self imposed negativity, will be what some call the “Eternal Now”, that place in which the Pure radiant, colourless, non-reflect...
What will be “there”, above all self imposed negativity, will be what some call the “Eternal Now”, that place in which the Pure radiant, colourless, non-reflected Light of ones Truth Selfhood shines, unimpeded, for all to see.
( See this websites, “Stories of Grateful living” – “After the fall” by Torkin Wakefield for a wonderful example of just one aspect of the this Eternal Light.)
Dear Torkin
As I read your submission this morning I had to smile at the point where you said, “An image arises in my mind of a pile of dark, broken bones held by the most radiant nest of bright and golden light. Staring at this image intently I realize that my “soul body” is holding my broken humanness.”
I hope that my reaction doesn’t offend you, it arose in me because just before reading your submission I was listening to and reading ( for what must be...
I hope that my reaction doesn’t offend you, it arose in me because just before reading your submission I was listening to and reading ( for what must be the thousandth time ) the first exercise given in The Researches of Truth work which is called, “The Nine Divine Rays Exercise”.
The First Ray, The Divine Ray Number 1, ( and I provide the full text of the exercise below ) addresses this “radiant nest of bright and golden light” you experienced in fluent detail so I am intending to, hopefully, reinforce your healing progress by encouraging you apply the visualization suggested within the exercise.
I trust this will help you in you wish to decrease, or even terminate, the use of painkillers. I do know for a fact the the **divine intelligences** which are working to repair your broken hip, as well as heal all the others physical damages, will greatly appreciative of your direct attention to the Golden-While light of Divine Ray Number One. They will be rejoicing to be within it as they work within the company of your Soul!
You submission has a wonderful Spirit-Soul-Self presence within it and I hope you will up-date us with your progress and any additional experiences with that Divine Golden light.
Be Present and Be that Soul “Golden Number One”
EdS
PS Where I note **divine intelligences** , I am referring specifically to the Holy Archangels of the Elements, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel. These four work together to heal and maintain the human body as well as the Universe. This is good to know as it means your do not have to worry one bit , it means that they, together with your loving friends and family, are keeping you in good hands.
The DIVINE RAY Number One Exercise ( I am leaving the time make in to indicate this exercise must be done at a slow and relaxed pace )
Close your eyes… Relax, …………. breath deeply and comfortably
Slowly slowly….. You go deep of your being-ness… And you open the gates of the field of your consciousness………3:20… You go deep into silence and peace.
3:37…. Visualize a very bright sun with 9 rays. Nine divine rays… Of translucent colors…….. Like a rainbow.
The first divine ray In ….Golden – white light….. Flows over you, from above and baths you.
4:42… Giving you beneficial light that enlightens and energizes every sacred corner of your being. This light is pure like a newborn Soul. As the ray descends upon you and floods you it creates a triangle of gold and white light that enfolds you in its divine energy.
6:00. Breathe in deeply and slowly, slowly exhale……… In your mind visualize and create in front of you….. A golden number one…. On a strong firm base. This number symbolizes the idea, the highest principle,………. It symbolizes the soul……… That comes to incarnate on earth.
7;47… This divine ray contains, within itself, all the power and the integrity, which is needed by an incarnated human being. It is the ray of absolute being-ness… The Divine part of its divinity…..
It is the light of your own soul. Your innermost self. 9:10 Is the strength of the power within you.
9:40…. It is the seed that carries the support quality of perfect creation, of what we call “man” in his Divine form. …10:16… It is the Golden-white Divine Ray Number One, coming from the world of ideas.
10:45 … Dive deep into your consciousness………… In that part of your consciousness……….. Where the truth is. The all-knowing truth, the truth that knows all about you.
11:25…. Breathe deeply,…….. You, being the soul number one…… Ask your present-day personality………….. who is this creature within me that experiences fear?……. the creature that is sadistically enclosed within itself……. Who is this creature that flinches at each step…………. The creature that is lazy………. And that does not have the courage to have its own opinion concerning the truth.
Who is this creature that loses good opportunities in life……… What is it that egotistically torturing me? And isolates me from my divine origin? And purpose?
Let the Golden-white Divine Ray Number One flow over you and guard your being ……. Listen…. To the pan universal melody of the soul within you which says…. My beloved child….. You have self-sufficiency…………. Life…….. Creative power……. Self-control……………. Independence……… You are a Holy Monad….. Which contains everything…………. And from which everything emanates within you………16:00…… You have the willpower to express yourself…….. To express immunity in the worlds of existence…………. Discover all these things within yourself………… And live happily…………. You have always my blessings.
17:10 breath deeply…………. Slowly ….slowly…come back and feel yourself in your material body again.
17:58 End Divine Ray 1
I agree that surrender, in its highest form, is opening to Life because Life is Love and Life is Light.
The Non-reflected light as it is so eloquently pointed to in to-days ‘Word of the Day’ …”How did the rose ever open its heart and give to this world all of its beauty? The Non-reflected light as it is so eloquently pointed to in to-days ‘Word of the Day’ …”How did the rose ever open its heart and give to this world all of its beauty? It felt the encouragement of Light against its being; otherwise we all remain too frightened.” HAFIZ, ( TRANSLATED BY DANIEL LADINSKY ) Hafiz confirms the Rose , ( not the physical rose which can be touched with the corporeal hand) and the intelligence(s) which create and maintain what the is behind the name, “Rose”, is the very “how” in Hafiz’s teasing question. That light is the very same light which which originated the “Rose” and its observed beauty is the true indication or its surrendering itself to itself. ( As Rumi say “I run from you to you).
Only human’s egoism has a difficultly with this truth because its habit is to preserve its identity as something separate from its Life-Love-Light origin.
As an Essene Christian and Researcher of Truth we too want to surrender courageously to our source, the Spirit-Soul-Self and consciously BE it rather then its reflection. We have many practices which are use to tame that egoism and convert it into a cooperating servant of Life-Love-Light.
One is the Seven Promises we make to yourself each day …all day long.
1) To serve, at all times and in all places, Absolute Beingness to whom I whole heartedly belong. 2) To be ready, at all times and in all places to serve the Divine Plan. 3) To make good use of the Divine Gifts of thought and word at all times, in all places and under all circumstances. 4) To endure patiently, without complaining, all forms of trials and tribulation which the most wise Divine Law may bestow upon me. 5) To love and serve my fellow human beings sincerely from the depths of my heart and Soul no matter what their behavior may be towards me. 6) To meditate and to contemplate daily Absolute Beingness, with the objective of total coordination of my thoughts, desires, words and actions with Its Divine Will. 7) To investigate and check every night whether all my thoughts, desires, words and actions are in absolute harmony with the Divine Law.
And secondly …to surrender to the courage ( the true power) of the Spirit-Soul-Self by asking the egoism of the Present-Day-Personaliy… when it is to tired to defend itself anymore these six questions.
What did I think or feel that I should not have thought or felt? What did I not think or feel that I should have thought or felt?
What did I say that I should not have said? What did I not say that I should have said?
What did I do that I should not have done? What did I not do that I should have done?
Thes question are not intended to be masochistic, only the egoism would see it that way, it is indeed the Rose of Spirit-Soul-Self acknowledging that it and the temporary egoism of the present-day-presonality, (the “thorn” IOW) ARE one.

Pope Francis on Monday recommended jettisoning life’s “useless baggage” in 2018, including what he called “empty chatter” and banal consumerism, and focusing instead on building a peaceful and welcoming world, particularly for refugees and migrants.

Francis offered his reflections on paring down non-essentials as he celebrated New Year’s Day Mass Monday in St. Peter’s Basilica and later greeted some 40,000 people in St. Peter’s Square.
His advice included setting aside a moment of silence daily to be with God. Doing so would help “keep our freedom from being corroded by the banality of consumerism, the blare of commercials, the stream of empty words and the overpowering waves of empty chatter and loud shouting,” Francis said.
“At the beginning of the year, we too, as Christians on our pilgrim way, feel the need to set out anew from the center, to leave behind the burdens of the past and to start over from the things that really matter,” he said.
The Catholic church designates Jan. 1 as World Peace Day, and in his comments after Mass to the crowd in the square outside the basilica, Francis noted that this year’s focus of the day was the search for peace by migrants and refugees.
Two pieces of advice this ( below by Pope Francis ) and the “Word of the day”
“I desire, yet again, to speak for these our brothers and sisters who invoke for their future a horizon of peace,” Francis said. “For this peace, which is the right of everyone, many of them are willing to risk their life in a voyage that is in the great majority of cases long and dangerous, willing to face hardships and suffering,” the pontiff said.
In the past few years, hundreds of thousands of migrants have crossed the Mediterranean from northern Africa in human traffickers’ unseaworthy boats, desperate to reach European shores. The pope’s foreign travels in 2017 included a voyage to Myanmar and Bangladesh, where the suffering of minority Rohingya Muslims, who have fled from the first country to take refuge in the second, was a central concern of his pilgrimage.
Francis in his appeal Monday said of refugees and migrants: “Let us not extinguish the hope in their hearts. Let us not suffocate their expectations for peace.” He called for all to make commitments “to assure the refugees, the migrants, everyone, a future of peace.”
The pope then prayed that people “work in this new year with generosity to realize a world that is more united and welcoming.”
When do I feel most generous?
Brother David addressed this very poignantly in “Deeper then words” so I will quote him below.
It is where he analysis Hopkins poem and focuses on “Justicing” which of course is also True generosity because it is action coming from a place where inner harmony and outer harmony resonate as ONE . It is the “YES” talked about before, it is “YES it is right to do this” act of gererostity ….and there...
It is where he analysis Hopkins poem and focuses on “Justicing” which of course is also True generosity because it is action coming from a place where inner harmony and outer harmony resonate as ONE . It is the “YES” talked about before, it is “YES it is right to do this” act of gererostity ….and there is no doubt that the giver and the receiver are the same ONE heart. This is when generosity has the most feeling.
Quote: “Yet, in Jesus, as potentially in every one of us, justicing adjusts the me-consciousness to the Christ consciousness.
Can you somehow connect “justicing” with your personal experience and consciousness? Have you noticed that justice within you (an adjustment to what is right) makes you work for justice in the world around you? I do not mean judgmental activism, but inner harmony creating outer harmony, be it in the way you furnish your room or in the political action you engage in. The latter became so central for Jesus’ justicing that he paid for it with his life. He truly was the just man who justices-and so, Christ.”
What can babies teach us about joy?
Rather then just repeat my response of a year ago ( see below) I will add to it.
Joy has the characteristics of the “thin places” which Brother David referred to in his most recent blog. He went on to say that this state, which children have naturally, is obliterated by western so-called “Education” and “conditioning”.
Quoting here
“Celtic spirituality speaks of “Thin Places,” where...
“Celtic spirituality speaks of “Thin Places,” where the veil between this world and another is translucent. There are “Thin Seasons” also – and now one has come. Can you not sense the Great Secret – the meaning of all – beyond a thin, thin veil, these days? Let’s celebrate this: Let’s play! Only when we play do we truly celebrate.” End Quote
Within that quote is a gracious way of connecting Joy to babies and to celebration!
In replying to Brother David’s point I do not wish to consider Brother David “old” in anyway But I do want to thank him for his wisdom and humbleness by quoting this poetic verse by William Blake
A child’s toys an Old man’s reasons
are the fruits of The Two Seasons.

How am I living a YES to life today?
By beginning this Holiday break by returning to the very first set of Meditations which makes up a system of meditation, study and practice in my system. So to begin “a new” and to see with fresh eyes and to realize and appreciate the process made over the last year. That is a very important “YES” to what is Life for me.
The first set of Meditations is, “The Nine Divine Rays” and the 6th of the 9 meditation...
The first set of Meditations is, “The Nine Divine Rays” and the 6th of the 9 meditations makes for a Very good Christmas Card Greeting when a voice recording is included with it.
Here it is in a brief version….( no voice recording ).
The 6th Divine Ray
Relax……..Breathe deeply and comfortably
And slowly, slowly, go deep into the center of your being-ness
And open the gates of the field of your consciousness.
Go deep into silence and peace.
…………
Visualize a very bright sun with 9 Divine Rays….
9 Divine Rays of translucent colors….. like a rainbow.
Open the gate of your Psychical world…..
…..The Divine Rosy-White light….
coming from the 6th Divine Ray …. Warms your whole existence. And awakens within you…. Very high and noble feelings……….. Which give meaning to your life.
Maybe for the first time your personality that travels in illusion begins to understand the good feelings toward your fellow human beings.
The Divine vibrations of this ray…. Awake within you… The Beauty of Harmony,….. Peace and Fullness…. in your relations with all.
The 6th Divine Ray unites the macrocosm and the microcosm…… With vibrations of Love born out of the feelings of men.
It is the first time that the traveler guided by love, will meet in his middle, in his ……Bright Rosy-White light……
…….It is brilliance of Light and Love………
And you as a human being….
You will stand in ecstasy in front of your real Self.
And there, with in the immensity of …..Divine Rosy-White light…. of the 6th Divine Ray is the seat of the teacher of teachers.
Joshua Emanual the Christ, the Lord of the 6th Divine Ray
Breathe deeply………….. comfortably, consciously………….
Concentrate on your heart center…… And visualize a six pointed star shining within you……. Like a bright, bright, sun.
…………….
The six pointed star is the symbol of the 6th Divine Ray,
It is the inner light…….. the light that enlightens every human soul…….. … All Joy the Angels.. ………..
The personality, the naughty child, has discovered itself.
It recognizes the meaning of Love, and its purpose within the universal human family.
Feel the fellow Human beings around you and send them Love.
Let every beat of your heart become a sweet note………. Observed to the sweet Jesus………. The Lord of our highest feelings……
Ask him to bring harmony into your relationships…. The whole world is made of his love.
You are Love.
……………………
The 6th Divine Ray symbolizes the reflection of the Creator in his creation.
It symbolizes the harmony of the universe.
It symbolizes the Love within the family.
It symbolizes the harmony in music, art, and healing.
It symbolizes perfection…..And Love for all.
See the reflection of the Creator in his Creation.
The whole world is made of his Love.
Wish that his Love to bring Peace on Earth.
The blessings of the Beloved Jesus….. For you…..Your family….. and the whole world.
………………….
Breathe deeply…. And slowly, slowly, come back and feel yourself and your material body against.
END 6th Divine Ray
Emptiness is Form, Form is Emptiness
So the Zen Kone goes…… I you agree with them then so called, “emptiness” is very much existence because it is and has form, not detectable by the 5 senses but very much there.
I find is much simpler to accept that all existence is Mind. Then “emptiness” is another expression for stillness ( a still mind ) ….But the Universal vibration, Mind, IS there, in the stillness, it is the ALL, because Universa...
I find is much simpler to accept that all existence is Mind. Then “emptiness” is another expression for stillness ( a still mind ) ….But the Universal vibration, Mind, IS there, in the stillness, it is the ALL, because Universal Vibration is the Unconditional Love. That which gives form within the All. So call that Universal Vibration the “Will-pleasure of God”. Sure feels that way!

and as true to the knowledge of the Mystics ….”…as one child said …”Dad mustn’t worry, he’ll see me again soon.”……”

And further, lets not forget Gibran in our mutual agreement here …” And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.”
and therefore, “Friendship is a responsibility not just some obligation”.

Your friend is your needs answered. He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. And he is your board and your fireside. For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.
When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the “nay” in your own mind, nor do you withhold the “ay.” And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.
And let your best be for your friend. If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also. For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill? Seek him always with hours to live. For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
Now this is a great breath of fresh, ozone, infused Oceanic air! I was wondering anyone was going to the clarity of Agape in this question.
Yes, friendship is indeed “the meeting of spirit” I don’t used the plural “spirits” here because there is only ONE in friendship, friendship is Spirit singular. The reflections of two personalities loose their identity when in friendship. One can’t even explain it to observers outside of this friendship because...
Yes, friendship is indeed “the meeting of spirit” I don’t used the plural “spirits” here because there is only ONE in friendship, friendship is Spirit singular. The reflections of two personalities loose their identity when in friendship. One can’t even explain it to observers outside of this friendship because there is no two separate identities “with”.
So there is no “needing” no “feeding’, no free of loss, never a change or a doubt. Friendships true name is “Agape Love” but new age lingo uses “Unconditional Love” instead.
