What am I willing to let go of in order to be a little more free and/or happy?

Accepting that ‘happy” is a time dependent emotion, none the less, I am more then willing to “let go” of all conditioning which impedes my accessing and LIVING fully in the beautiful state of “Conserved In the End” so eloquently identified Baba Dioum’s “Word of the Day”.

You really have addressed the situation of Being Human very powerfully and very well. Thank You! for this brave demonstration of “Gratefulness” because to be a Grateful Human Being is, first and foremost to acknowledge ( within all the understanding of ones existence ) that we Humans are gods within the multiplicity of the One God.

Your treatment of the concept called “time” echoes the point the powerful Christian Mystic Dr Stylianos Atteshlis ( aka Daskalos ) repeated to all those listening to him “Time is an Elusion!” we Humans are capable of living full in our Noetical – Noetic realm were motion and change exist in totality different contexts relative to “earthly” time and place. I am cheating a little here by copying and modifying the intro the gratefulness moderators used as an introduction to your book ( hope they don’t mind!)

“The book” we, each human being is writing in Cosmic memory (aka Akashic Records)right NOW… “is the result of” …our incarnations into the manifest realm called “material-earthly-life” .. “around-the” within of Circles of Possibility and Probability set for that realm…..” journey during which”…..we, as gods exercising our will-pleasure are learning to … treat the earthly….”world as if it were a single destination”, one huge”….. paradise. That “paradise” IS an extension of the Kingdom of Heaven …the inheritance of every Human Being….As Joshua Emanuel the Christ continues to remind us of.

And what a “privileged present” it is!

As I said above I enjoyed your submission very much, it contains many, many, points of daily reflections which I, as an Esoteric Christian ( Essene ) do continually renew and refresh, so that I am capable of the “privileged present”.

There is an unfortunate habit around current spiritual subjects. It is the one which considers that feelings / joy, pain, anxt, etc are directly related to Soul! I suspect it comes from the last 1600 years of Christians teaching that they offer the way to “save your Soul”. But the Soul is perfect, always was always will be. There not EVER a need to “SOS”!!!

All “despair, suffering, psychological pain, etc, etc is due to one cause …the misalignment and mis-attunement within individual human “bodies” and their Collective societies. This lack can only be seen and understood from the perspective of the third body …the Noetical body and its etheric double. IOW, To approach the dealing with “despair” by only dwelling of the “emotions” within the Psychical body will not promote healing. (True healing occur only with the complete alignment-attunement- atonement of ALL three bodies comprising one’s “Being-ness”. Focusing only on emotions only promote more and more emotions like angst ( from which all fear arises as Br David Steindl-Rast has correctly pointed out ). It is the “Knowing Who we Are, beyond name and form” IOW the shifting of the “centers of consciousness” away from the physical and Psychical and into Noetical ( and ultimately Noetic ) which will eliminate all so-called “paradoxics”.

Humans are blessed with the use of Mind-super-substance, and use it with pure Noetic ability. How we use it is up to us. And when we mis-use it, there is no one to blame but ourselves.

I ask because tin he quote provided of Brother Davis’s U.N. prayer he does not use either the words “hope” or “faith” in it.

Being an Esoteric Christian I notice and pay respect to Br David’s use of the english language. Is that opening quote from Br David?

yes or no, there can said to be some some similarity here in his U.N. prayer here…. between Esoteric and Exoteric

How can I make use of one of my privileges today?

My “privilege” , besides being blessed to experience being a Human Being on this manifestation named “Earth”, is to acquire knowledge and experiences of the very existence and bring it forward into “future” incarnation.

One such “privilege” is to live in the teachings of a very advanced teacher. The quoted words (below) describe beautifully but simply what all Human Being’s privileges are!

What can I do today to show kindness towards myself?

I will be taking and and applying the truth emanating from the “Word of the Day”. “People are like stained glass windows: They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within. ELISABETH KUBLER-ROSS

And I will doing Internal exercises which help to generate ample “light within”. And then through the day, I will be watchful to not waste this…“light within” on on egoic emotions such as anger or animosity or ..etc etc ..

That is the first step in being “kind to myself”.

And then also being ever watchful for others who are emanating their “light within”. Receiving it with silent gratitude because it is the very nature of this “light within” to apprehend other like-“light within”.

And finally, when possible, reading light emanating material and sharing it with others ..”a communion of “light within” so to speak. Such as..

Come to the garden in Spring.
There is light and wine, and sweethearts
in the pomegranate flowers.If you do not come, these do not matter,
If you do come, these do not matter”

Rumi’s point is very clear ….you cannot be good to others without being genuinely good to your self first. In “the garden” ( which is all light, just light ) there is no “you” and “other”.

What experiences are offering me perspective?

There is great “perspective” ( I prefer the world “Attitude” ) here in the “Word for the Day ” and it sums up ALL “experiencing” and the reason for “experiencing” very well!

“The same pain that can blemish our personality can act as a creative force, burnishing it into an object of delight. PIR VILAYAT INAYAT KHAN

this “attitude” is also mirrored in the, Psalm 119:71

” It is good for me that I have been afflicted: that I might learn thy statutes”.

Combined, these parallel wisdoms are saying that all current worldly, local and personal experiences are occurring HERE, within Divine Wisdom’s Plan, Now,and are “just as they are” no complaining necessary, to advance ITS Knowing of ITSELF through us.

We Human Being are here “experiencing” Being-ness, so that we will Know ourselves, our potential, more fully and eventually the Total (potential) Reality. ( Inayat Khan’s description, “burnishing it into an object of delight” are words so very well chosen to convey that fact!)

As brother David says it, “AMEN!!”

How can I use my blessings to improve someone else’s life?

Firstly, it is Absolutely important to be fully aware of what a blessing it to BE as a “Human BE-ing” because that “being aware” of ones own ‘Original Blessing’ is what powers the emanating blessing(s) going out to “improve” other(s). This principle applies equally to the emanating of Gratefulness.

The degree of awareness of “Original Blessing” is really the determining factor of the degree that Holy Spirit will flow through ALL conscious intentions ……this “flow” also goes by the name, “Grace”.

So my reply to to-days question is simply “ be consciously aware of BE-ing as I possibly can be.” then the Holy Spirit can detect it and flow though it to where ever “improvement” is required. It is not necessary for me to choose where the Holy Spirit’s power is required to take “form” ( see Br David quote below) . This in Sufi terminology is called “Baraka”…loosely translated into English …”being a lightening rod for Holy Spirit to flow though”.

Brother David expresses the nature of Holy Spirit very well in his
“Deeper then Words, Living the Apostle’s Creed” page 156 to 157

“Forms arise and dissolve like soap bubbles, but the Spirit brings them forth, the Breath of God shapes and fills them, and therefore every single one of them is infinitely precious and sacred. “Just to be is a blessing; just to live is holy,” said the great rabbi Abraham Heschel. Once in a while our eyes pop open and we look through the form to its holy identity. Think, for example, of young parents enthralled by every tiny toenail, every smallest hair of their first baby. In such moments we are awestruck by the vision and overwhelmed by the blessing of sheer being.

On that deepest level, Life simply IS, Being simply IS-beneath the comings and goings of forms.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus refers to this deepest level when he says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (10:10). In his own life he breathed the imperishable Life-breath of God, and this life cannot perish, not even in death. Saint Paul assures us that this is true of us, too: “If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies form a wider circle of shared faith. Moreover, AMEN is related to Aum or Om, the sacred syllable of a still wider community. Among Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists, Om also expresses assent and blessing and links the one who pronounces it in faith with the ultimate horizon of human existence, just as AMEN does.

Yes Nicos, Indeed! Daskalos was and is a TRUE MYSTIC ( regardless of what some members of the church might think of him 🙂 )

And for what you choose to call “common sense” , Daskalos used the expression “Using the gift of “Mind” for “RATIONAL thinking””. IOW ….paying attention to, observe and analyzing our desires rather that being slaves to them.

Ty for this….and the apples giving off that extra tasty smell ….as their call the the bears “come and eat me”.

I, being the worst sphelar in grade two class ( and the whole world for that matter ) I imagined that silent “n” to be the leaf proclaiming ” it now” as it touches the ground…only …it doesn’t as far as the “..ow’ before it rejoins the “silence” from which it came. And one can’t fall it for being in a hurry to get back there ether!

Patjos the key choice is to not fall for egoisms trick of trying to blame it host ( your True Self) for the so-called mistakes IT as made. Egoism is both cleaver and double in nature ….when one starts to observe it and stay separate from it games, one half pretends to be remorseful but the other half will come in with new tricks, new self punishment. I said “True Love” because when one is established in one’s True Self ( not influenced by Egoism) One is also emanating True Love and ego cannot survive in its “light”.
