Gratefulness
So many miraculous blessings! For now, today, I am grateful for healthy eyes, ears, the felt sense of touch, the ability to smell, taste, and my whole body/ mind, through which I am able to think, feel, show up and move with relative dignity, grace and ease …
I can practice rooting, connecting and listening from a deeper place, and choosing a response from there. When/ as I lose that connection, I can practice awareness and returning…
My beloved Aunt who passed away three years ago, and my father, brother to my aunt. They accept, face and embrace whatever life offers and make the very best of it, without complaint.
They put family first, and create whatever excuses they can to gather together. As these opportunities become less frequent and more precious with age, they embrace and celebrate whatever each day offers.

My Aunt passed away quietly and peacefully as we held a large family gathering to honour her almost 100 years. The circle remains.

Thich Nhat Hanh talks about the benefits of meditation, which he describes as equal parts reflection and action.

I keep practicing to show up in the world as calm, patient, kind, open, generous, accepting, understanding, forgiving… As I learn greater compassion and acceptance of self, I have more to give to others. I hope that my quiet, peaceful and authentic presence is a positive one for others. I am grateful to Susan Cain, David Whyte and many others who teach and model that couerage does not always roar…
In the morning, sitting in my chair with feet up and fresh coffee in hand – reading, writing , meditating. In the evening, having dinner with my husband and reflecting on the day. Also yoga or a walk in nature, catching up with family or friends, wherever it fits in the day.
As I learn to connect with spirit with awareness, clear intention, gentleness and kindness, so I am more able to care for the people and world around in simple and meaningful ways. Slowing down, breathing deeply, pausing, connecting, moving …
