Gratefulness
I am grateful for our beautiful website and bow to its service in the world, and to all those who will resonate with its purpose. Go free!
Love fiercely – it is the least we can do to honor those who are no longer with us.
I love the idea of not having to move but having the rising moon cast me forward across the sea and the earth’s terrain. This image offers my soul a deep comfort, trusting that something of me will live on beyond time in both light and dark, and that without my needing to make anything happen, there is presence, movement, and transformation which are not mine to manage, but simply ARE. I am nourished by this…
One of the most powerful yet gentle 5 minutes I can spend to shift my perspective on most everything – it always works to shift me to gratefulness.
Star – As usual. you have beautifully articulated our principles. Thank you deeply. In the spirit of what you cite – “unity” and “our shared humanity.”
Thanks for your words and sentiments Matt.
Matt – Thank you for your note. I hope that staying busy loving helps to heal some of the loss for you, as it does for me.
Ella – Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your process and actions are a huge inspiration.”
Elizabeth – What a beautiful reflection and reminder about the gifts of our lives here. Thank you for helping us to keep our perspective. And welcome. We are so glad that you found us.
Thank you Roger for bringing us “back to the Earth,” our teacher. Wise words…
Thank you Kristen. You are in abundant and good company. There is comfort in this…
Eddie – thank you so much for being engaged in this dialogue, and for sharing your experience with us. Alongside millions of others, I have been through and learned a lot in these last, very full 36 hours. My intention in sharing rather raw, immediate feelings about the election results was not to make you feel excluded from the embrace of our work and I am sorry that this was the result. My hope was to convey the belief that we will all be called to attend and love “even more deeply and ...
My hope was to convey the belief that we will all be called to attend and love “even more deeply and widely” in these times. I was stating that I am called to this task as much as anyone. You have challenged me to see this mandate to love and listen in the broadest of terms. I thank you. Our mission and values guide me, our team, and the gratefulness community every day…each in our own ways. I invite you to immerse yourself in these foundational principles and join us in the daily practices which advance them in our lives, relationships, and the world. In this spirit, you are always welcome here. Warmly – Kristi http://demo.gratefulness.org/about/values-mission-vision/
Matt – You are so right. “Love and gratitude are the path itself…” not end points to seek to achieve. Thank you so much for your wisdom and commitment.
Blessings to you Anna. I am so glad for you to write about this challenge with speaking up that sometimes takes you to the “sadness valley.” One of my favorite sayings is. “don’t believe everything you think.” This is great advice when we are thinking poorly of ourselves. You are an inspiration. Kristi
Thank you Lisa. Your understanding is meaningful to me. I too had not taken any time off work this summer and was feeling uncomfortably resentful. When I switched up my attitude to take other people’s wonderful stories of time off as inspiration – with a commitment to figure out how to heed it – I got more ease around it and more clear that I HAVE to take care of myself if I don’t want to settle for incessant resentments. This is a redirect that makes a difference for ...

Annie – Thank you so much for writing. I could not be happier than to have articulated something which is resonant for you and others, and to lift up shared human experiences out of shame and into compassionate consideration. Let’s learn together to be gentle with ourselves and one another, gratefully. K
Thank YOU Seeker. It is challenging to bring these kinds of internal experiences to the public domain, but it feels important. Your words help me to know why it matters that we do so. May you continue to mine your life for these kinds of meaningful insights that you share.
Thank you Drew for your thoughtful note which expands some on what I have said in my blog, and all of which I agree with. I hope that lifting up these kinds of hidden conversations to public discourse can allow them to provoke, inform, inspire, and heal. Thank you for being a beautiful part of our world.
Kay – thank you for sharing what you are saying here. I believe that the first step is to know and speak the truth of your heart’s limitations, then to have compassion for them, then to stretch ourselves to more courageous acts of loving. You are on the path – that is what matters. Love how and where you can love – start there. Thank you.
Dear Karmit – Thank you so very much for your very lovely and meaningful praise and sharing. I would love to see this blog post move farther out into the world, and appreciate that you encourage this. Let’s see that happens. Also, I join you in your sense that growing older allows us to release our concerns about what others think about us. This is a daily practice for me!
Drew – it is so very nice to hear from you. Thank you for sharing my “age space” – I love that! And for your beautiful reflection about life and living it generously, ever aware of our fragility. I would love to imagine that we share this approach to life. The magic is alive indeed…
