Gratefulness
My goal is to be a whole lot more like my dogs, able to live in the moment and just be grateful.
A number of people I regularly interact with on here! ????
At Big Sur. We were privileged to see the beach at Big Sur in 1998, and coming out of the interlacing evergreens with its soft carpet of needles below and its sweet scent surrounding us onto the sheer golden sand, the vast blue, blue sky, and the depths of the sounding ocean literally brought me to my knees in the warm sand in awe and praise of our Creator who made such glory for us to experience. We are small, but very very loved, and that indeed is humbling. For those of you with a biblical...

There are other places as well, of course, Dolly Sods in West Virginia, and many many every day sorts of places. Big Sur just stands out to me whenever I think of the majesty and yet the caring of God.
Curling up to go to sleep with my husband at night, dogs on their beds around us. Watching the chickens come running when they hear the door. And yes, a nice cup of tea! I also love my times of quiet communion with God, reading, writing, meditating, and listening.
I am currently in a situation of having to trust a way will be made where there is no way, at least none I can readily see. The key component of this is learning TO trust during the every day challenges, which is harder for me than the overall grand scheme of things sort of challenge.
Through this, I am learning that the elements of Trust and Self-Compassion, especially through times of struggle, really do have the power to change the world for the better.
Self-Compassion is r...
Self-Compassion is really Trust as well — trust that the Divine finds me lovable and worthy just as I am, which then leads me to treat myself better. That, in turn, leads me to be open to more opportunities to share that Love and compassion with others.
My talents. I have a number of things I can do but which I have not yet shared freely with a wider audience due to this very question of “enough-ness.” Part of my place in making the world a bit better is connected to these talents or I would not have been issued with them. Thus, working on learning I am indeed enough has a ripple effect outwards.
By not turning aside from hearing a hard truth about what needs healing in our world. I am thinking very much of racism in the USA. It is human nature to want to avoid that which is painful, but we have to be willing to listen to the other, especially when it is difficult, in order to find where we can meet and heal together.
Five years ago, life was so challenging that I do not even like to remember that time. I was in constant excruciating pain and was afraid I was about to lose my house, my marriage, and my health. It was a dark time, and what seemed like answers to help it actually made it worse. It took some painful, courageous changes and decisions to shift the dynamic, and a lot of hard work. Life has been a long time getting onto the upswing, and while not where I hope it will be, this is WAY better than t...

The ocean is a perfect reminder to me of how much we do not control.
I love the reminder of how many storms they have weathered and gone on thriving.
I agree. This site is a gem, an oasis on the internet! 😀
I love those Divine appointments, don’t you? 😀
Oh, ouch. Yes, you are right.
That pain is one that I am working on, too, Kevin, one of the latter holdouts of the Lyme that is a bit stubborn. I am sorry. I know the impact it can have. Perhaps acupuncture could help? I find that it reduces my pain levels a good bit. (To put your mind at ease, the needles, however, are not located precisely in the, ahem, affected spot.)
HUGS.
I agree, Kit. I do not have to feel that I am enough to give. I struggle with feeling that I am enough, true, but somehow, giving helps me learn that I am enough.
Praying. May you be held in Divine care and protection.
Kevin — no, we are not in that region. Some of our construction guys went there to help out. Our area is north central Ohio very hard hit in the recent recession but not by hurricanes, generally. 🙂
There is a group here called ACT (Answering the Call Together) who do just that. They loaded up and headed off to Houston after putting out a call for folks to bring donations. It was heartwarming, actually. By the time we got there, they had received so much, and knew more was coming, that they had to take down a semi instead of the pickups and trailer! We know a couple guys who are involved — construction workers, basic, no fanfare, just get that drill and head out guys. Our area is v...

Our area is very dependent on construction now, so thankfully, there are many who answer that call, with the help of their town behind them.
Hooray! 😀
