Gratefulness
Ask, and it will be given to you. Many years ago I asked for being free from obsessive thoughts and a desperate sensation that I was in a dark hole. I also wanted to find a partner who loved me. I got both of them. Yet, I believe that there is a Spirit of strenght and this Spirit asked for me something I was not aware, but that was my deepest desire. Now, if I am the woman I am, I have to be grateful to this soft voice, I am on a path of awareness, gratitude, openness, kindness, together with freedom both from judgmental thoughts towards people and from fear of other judgments, from envy. And the best thing is that I’m trying to pass this freedom to my sons. Now it can happens that I struggle with anger, or fear for my future or that of my dearest. But my starting point has changed.
II’m trying to approach my tasks in gratefulness. for instance: at work it can happens that I have to check the food distribution in 3 schools, at the same time, even tasting the menu and taking a sample for microbiological analysis. It is difficult because I have to run… at the beginning of this task, I felt overwhelmed. Then I adopted the approach of gratitude, because I noticed some nice operators and the way they cope with children, then i was completely engaged in obser...
Then I adopted the approach of gratitude, because I noticed some nice operators and the way they cope with children, then i was completely engaged in observing children and teen agers, how they eat, how they laugh, how they come to me asking me for food, because they confuse me with the operators (i wear a white apron and a special hat). Now I enjoy it. Sometimes I laugh! Thank you Dr Kerry Howells for the scientific reasons you add to this matter. Anna
People who write here are from the same “star dust” of me, as Palm says. So, thinking of that and of my busy time, i wonder if dear Gina and Ed are well. I hope so, yet I have not seen their posts, in these last days. This is not because they have to write, of course, but because a common feeling grows, being here every day.
Gina! So happy to read your post! Happy for a miracle outside your home.
Dear Christina, so glad to see your icon today! I love your post, and your words “taking care of business”. They remind me brother Lawrence of the Resurrection: last year Kevin spoke about him and I was fascinated. So, your reflection helps me in my daily tasks.
Don’t worry Palm, you are in a good place here, this is a “sacred” community, as Diane always says in Gratitude Lounge. You can feel at home. You are a mother, like Antoinette, like me, and our sons are a basic part on our lives. Each of us writes his/her reflections. And our experiences often start from our sons/daughters. I always like reading your posts and see your icon, Palm.
Dear Gina I hope you are well, because I miss you. Don’t feel pressure, only my friendship. Anna
A terroristic attack Antoinette, maybe 22 people dead, among them even children.
May you find peace, Caroline. May this peace fill your heart, kindly and softly getting into those parts that now are hopeless.
Oh dear Aine, I am without words in front of you. Thank you for what you say.
Welcome again dear Deb, I am sorry for your pain, that is so intense….and I admire you for your strength. Noticing your absence in Gratitude Lounge and here, I asked about you, some months ago. May you feel support and comfort in this community.
For me your posts are never long, dear Ben, because your words are always meaningful.
well said Michael, I like your honest answer!
I agree with you Kevin, and when there is an opportunity to learn, sometimes I don’t take it. Is this part of our human nature? I believe that it is, we are not always perfect. Maybe…. I can even learn from this vulnerability, I mean from my tiredness, or my most challenging time, or my imperfection. However, I realize this learning only after the end of this experiences.
Dear Kathleen, have you read the blog by Dr Kerry Howells? I often feel overwhelmed, at work, but since I am here, things have changed, trust me. oh, it is a journey, not a quick success, and it does not end in one day, but it is worth. And you can even enjoy it.
Have a nice time Pilgrim, I believe that relax near a lake is like a balm!
You are speaking about Italy, so….I am here, dear Ursula ????.Joking apart, I am so glad for your pilgrimage, and, if you have a look into Gratitude Lounge, in my reply to your post , I speak about a poet who just said what your wise son has told you!
I am with you dear Christina, a bad cold and cough. Oh yes, we can live our spiritual journey!
I’m with you Francine, and maybe we are here at the same time! Do you remember that attack in Egypt, during Easter time, when a lot of people was killed while praying in their churches? People didn’t show hate, rather, they kept on their faith. True courage, True faith, I believe.
So true, Ben. I often noticed that something I didn’t like in other people was an aspect of my own nature that was causing me some problems. Shifting my attitude…..the miracle happened, that fellow could even be an “amicus”!
