Gratefulness
Looking at the sky….13.56 …the wind moving green leaves… I’m taking my lunch. Looking outside, maybe a storm is coming before evening. The weather changing so quickly…
My life has shifted to a green valley, some years ago. So, I feel a great compassion when I see people who struggle for their past experiences and they can’t smile. I always hope that they find their way, that they have the patience that they need in these circumstances. I believe that I have a lot, my family and the peace that I can breath in it, my work, my relatives and friends, my home, food (and I can buy good food), my choir, the wonderful experience in this communit...

I always hope that they find their way, that they have the patience that they need in these circumstances. I believe that I have a lot, my family and the peace that I can breath in it, my work, my relatives and friends, my home, food (and I can buy good food), my choir, the wonderful experience in this community, …but I feel a kind of anguish because so many people don’ t have all these things, and to tell the truth a lot of these people are not so far from me.
I believe that humility is a flow which goes from top the to bottom and not in the opposite direction. During my life I learnt to be aware and grateful for this awareness: I am humble if I forgive who hurt me, either on purpose or unconsciously. I am smart and I am content of that: I am humble if I don’t use my intelligence to show an intellectual superemacy. If I got some kind of power, I am grateful for this: I can’t but be honest and don’t direct my power to any for...

During my life I learnt to be aware and grateful for this awareness: I am humble if I forgive who hurt me, either on purpose or unconsciously. I am smart and I am content of that: I am humble if I don’t use my intelligence to show an intellectual superemacy. If I got some kind of power, I am grateful for this: I can’t but be honest and don’t direct my power to any form of oppression. If I am a parent I thank my God for that and I have to use my authority with tenderness, because my sons deserve that I explain my requests.
Oh, I am aware and I believe that if measured my time with moments rather than with the clock it would be as if the Infinite Love and Beauty would come to me and win my finitude. Maybe, every faith in this world is based on the overcoming of finitude, but practically speaking, it is a challenging task.
Two days ago, during my work, I went to two centers for disabled people, for some audits. I felt a deep reverence towards educators, everyday they face painful circumstances, but they stay positive, they joke with their disabled boys. The world seems different in those places, it seems better. I feel The same reverence for teachers, and for the scientists, when their approach to knowledge is humble.
I believe that thinking of a “small” or “large” beauty is a kind of anthropocentric view. At the beginning, the whole Creation was very good, and it is good still now.
Thank you to you, for this beautiful post!
I will hold you in my prayer Kevin.
Thank you Palm and Ursula!!!
Yes Palm, next Wednesday I will meet my boss, and I know….how your advice is so important! ????
Thank you Christina, I appreciate your words, because I feel the same in some circumstances of my life. So, you are encouraging me, with your reflection.
Dear Pilgrim, I choose to answer you, but I am referring also to Kevin’s and Gina’s post. Today in Italy we celebrate the memory of the end of the II WW, (i’m simplifying the matter but it is not the place now) and thanks to that I have an extra time to reflect, because it is a holiday time. You are right, the clock is part of our lives, if we didn’t have the clock, we would look at the light and shadow, or at the way nature is transforming. So, thank...
So, thank you for reminding me I can look at the clock and at the same time, enjoying the flow of the time. And you are right, Pilgrim, also my mother-in-law doesn’t know the day and the night. Me too Pilgrim, I don’t desire a life without structure at all.
Enjoy your iced coffee Christina!
Your words are coming into my soul and giving me a glimpse of what a deep faith can believe.
Dear Palm, may the beauty and love that still exist in this world take you and your daughter and your family all your life long. ????????
Pilgrim, for me your words sound like a poem…the good that our world is holding, even when it doesn’t seem true, the memory beyond individual memories, even when we forget what has happened….I love your poem, it is a source of hope.
I admire you, Linda.
Thank you Malag and Pilgrim. I have the same doubt of Malag, and Pilgrim’s reply offers me an advice. Yet, sometimes the routine lessens .my kindness and I often think that I am not so good in my caring for my family and my parents.
Dear Kim, this is a true pain. I pray for for your inner peace, i think this is so important for your work, because the pain you are feeling can be overwhelming. Like Palm, I try to say “all shal be well”, though it has to be very hard for you and your husband. If you feel comforted here, you can speak, like now. I believe that this is a supportive community ; first of all dear Kim, don’t feel alone.
Of course Gina! Look at your kind soul, there is the sun.
