Gratefulness
Connection with God makes me happy. I know it because I feel so damn grateful for it! A gathering with friends to eat, talk & laugh makes me happy. I know it because I’m “high” for the rest of the day. My plans for today make me happy: a concert and overnight road trip to Albany with my sister & two friends. I know it makes me happy because I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks! It’s my vacation! Cheers all!
I guess one of my “deepest values” is that it is people that matter in this life. When I go to Shop Rite to do my food shopping today maybe I can be a little kinder, “softer” towards others.
Had it just the other evening: not reading or coloring–just being. It was delicious. Can hear God when I’m silent or can open myself to hear Him/Her.
A dogged determination to advance and I guess, faith.
By being endlessly grateful for it–which I am. It’s a prayer of the heart. As Brother David said, “Gratefulness is the heart of prayer.”
As with Kevin, I too believe I have everything I need, except maybe for approval, which seems to be a bottomless pit!
My mind – because it opens me up to the precious gifts of the spirit, which I receive – like just this morning – by reading my beloved daily meditation books!
I am supported by this very community – and it’s a lovely thing!
There have been a lot of bad years. Through it all there was a voice deep inside that said “There’s gotta be something better than this.” And there was & is!!
The music of the wind in the trees–the sound of change.
I’m offering the gift of my work…it’s funny how important it is to me. I’m entering demographic data into electronic medical records & it can be tedious, but it helps the company so I’m glad about that.
I hope through living it, the fear of losing my job and economic insecurity is ending, or at least transmogrifying. I am glad to see it go!.
Yeah, it’s really somethin’, isn’t it?!
Thanks so much, Deb.!
And to you, too!
Smile.
It’s true, Palm..very hard to do, especially at work where “There’s no communication!” is such a frequent complaint!
Thanks, Kev!!
Me, too.
I need a city-fix every once in awhile. How are you feeling, Kevin?
