Gratefulness
I am an Essene Christian ( read as Esoteric rather then Exoteric) referencing the teachings of Dr Stylianos Atteshlis (aka Daskalos)
What do you most appreciate about people who are really different from you?
That THEY ARE DIFFERENT…and yet Divine Beings at the same time. Thanks to our dual nature.
How can I add beauty to life today?
Since ALL the “Beauty of Life” already exists in Absolute Beingness all I can do, as part of Absolute Beingness and its Divine Plan, is reflect that Beauty back to it, within the awareness I have. …..As it is said, “Clear our Heart to reflect your Love to you.”
and being a rather lazy and forgetful type I recite this prayer often during the day to stay within the awareness of beauty.
“O God, my Fat...
“O God, my Father, make my footsteps upon life’s path as light as they may be. Let me not raise dust, in anger or in greed, that binds my brothers and sisters. Make my steps light upon life’s path. Make my heart, O’God, my Father, a crystal-clear mirror to reflect Your Love, my Love, and to allow my fellow humans to rejoice.” ( a prayer by Dr Stylianos Atteshlis )
“Even in apparent darkness there is Ample Light.”
Dr Stylianos Ateshlis ( aka Daskalos )
What new perspectives have opened up for me recently?
No “new” but constantly “re-Newed”
From Jung’s Collected works …cw 9, i, 178
“Consciousness can exist only though continual recognition of the unconsciousness”
61 of the Ching details the importance of Introspection…know yourself first and then your reactions to ones second. Then watch for clarity to arise .

The gentle Wind ripples the Lake’s surface: The Superior Person finds common ground between points of contention, wearing away rigid perspectives that would lead to fatal error.

The subject of this hexagram discovers a key to Tranquility by first gaining insight into his own nature, then turning that vision outward. By resolving inner conflicts and being at peace with himself, he learns to gain insight into others. In effect, he enters another, sees with the other’s eyes, listens with the other’s ears, feels with the other’s heart. He then returns to his own center, with new perspective and understanding.
Taking a look back over the last few years, which friends have been truly meaningful to you?
The Sufi ones who “dropped” this poem off one morning.
At surface, speck of light In depth the Sun we are. Soul-Holy Spirit, blew through Mary, we are.
From the chalice of Sun every morning we get drunk. Drunkards of the Spirit of patience like Jesus we are.

If serpent be foe, the White Hand of Moses we are. If deluge be the whole world, the Arc of Noah we are.
O’ pious ones, you can’t see us with your earthly eyes. Look through your inner eye and see what Souls we are.

Gyani,
as one way to enrich your experience in “fatherhood” (and equally important, future “family” ) I recommend listening to James Hillman’s “The Myth of Family”. And just to be clear here, Hillman uses the word “Myth” in its proper context …not as a ‘lie’ but as its true meaning….Psyche’s vehicle into the entertaining, painful, comical, confusion etc etc journey called “life”. And just to be clear here, Hillman uses the word “Myth” in its proper context …not as a ‘lie’ but as its true meaning….Psyche’s vehicle into the entertaining, painful, comical, confusion etc etc journey called “life”. Hillman’s sharpe observation skills and rich use of humour all employed in the frame work of (his method) “Archetypal Psychology” combine to make any Father/Son relationship richer in ‘Truth of Loving Life’ and can easily be passed on to future Father/Son/plus Grandfather relationships implanting exponential growth of Joy within that expanding relationship.
( caveat here ….it isn’t always pretty but it is always powerful ! )

Re: “Anyone who’s worked on becoming happier knows that it’s not simple, and research in positive psychology is starting to reflect that. ”
It is note worthy that some in the business of Psychology ( and Psycho-therapy ) choose to add the word “Positive” in front of their profession BUT PLEASE

lets not ignore the fact that the root word for “Psychology” comes from the Greek origin, “Psyche” that aspect of our Human “Being-ness” is now / was / and always will be…. Perfect, Unchanging and Indestructible.
The English language unfortunately has a way of butchering older languages for strange reasons!
As the powerfully (anti- traditional) Psychologist James Hillman pointed out in his “We have had 100 years of Psycho-thereaphy and the world isn’t getting any better”. Psychology is the new religion of the western world and it has become as self-serving and the religions it has replaced!
Perhaps the “Well-Being-ness” industry would do a “positive” by dropping the word “Psycho-” from its vocabulary?
I make this suggestion to reinforce Hillman’s observation that,
“our ‘Ideals of how it aught to be make it so much worse. Our ideals promote the suppression of those dark parts ( within our sub-conscious) ! And they become darker because of therapy’s ( aka Therapists ) ideals!
AMEN! Brother Hillman!
I would vote to change the title of Psychologist to “Desire-ologist” and Psychotherapist to, “Desire-therapist” And add a new branch which would promote true positive-ness named “Self-Introspection-ology”.
What makes me happy? How do I know it?
By way of just what is implied by Kornfield in to-day “Word of the day”
“Those who are awake live in a constant state of amazement.” JACK KORNFIELD
But in my agreement with Kornfield “awake’ means specifically
….”Alignment and Atune-ment” between my temporary – present – day -self and my Permanent – non-changing, -Inner-Self.
Re: “the h...
Re: “the how do I know” question.
This is answered by the fact that when resonating in the “awake” state of “Alignment and Atune-ment”, there is relaxed alertness and non-judgementalness of all aspects of awareness, inner and outer. Words such as “happy”, “peaceful”, “present”, “Godly”, “balanced”, “complete”, “content”, “joyfulness” “soulfulness” etc can only point to that state of natural “Being-ness” .
How can I embody one of my deepest values today?
By living, embodied, within the Seven Promises I make to myself as a Researcher of Truth. Every moment of every day.
When I am silent, “who” do I hear?
I prefer to make the change for “what” to “who” above. “Who” better identifies the intelligences within silence. The presence of these “Super Intelligences” is the direct assurance that we Human Beings are never alone.
Be Well Present

“When you sit in meditation, in silence, you listen to this dialogue. I ask you with whom are you talking with? You think: ‘it is with myself” It is not with yourself, it is with your Guardian Angel that you are talking. That’s why I say listen to your inner voice and consult that super intelligent Archangel who loves you. ,.., Daskalos
What is the difference between feeling grateful and being grateful?
The “feeling of gratefulness” emanates out of the awareness that……“Your life is God’s gift to you.”
The “being grateful” emanates out of the awareness that…. “What you do with your life is your gift to God.”
With a “word for the day” = “YES”
What parts of my body do I treasure?
Very, very, Strange Question!
Firstly …”the body” is not mine. I am a Soul and as a Soul I am “gifted” by the Divine Intelligence who provide “the body” over my Luminous Life Light, (aka, Spirit-Soul-Self.)
Secondly…”the body” is, in actual fact, three bodies , Material, Psychical and Noetical. As it is explained by Joshua Emanuel the Christ in his parable of the “wome...
Secondly…”the body” is, in actual fact, three bodies , Material, Psychical and Noetical. As it is explained by Joshua Emanuel the Christ in his parable of the “women and the three measures of flour”
Matt 33 “I He told them another parable. The kingdom of heaven is like the leaven, which a woman took and buried in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
Since my temporary and permanent personalities are together responsible for only nourishing and keeping clean these three bodies and maintaining the correct balance between the three bodies I have no right to like or dislike any aspect of ‘the body” which is created and maintained by Great, Great Intelligence, (namely the Archangels of the Elements. Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel. And not forgetting Shamael here, he provides them necessary elements too!)
…”treasuring” one part of “the body” more then another is like wanting to like one part of the “Kingdom of Heaven” more then another part! No Thanks!
What have I offered people today?
This Essene’s Prayer, along with others.
O God, my Father, make my footsteps upon life’s path as light as they may be. Let me not raise dust, in anger or greed that blinds my brothers and sisters. Make my steps light upon life’s path. Make my heart, O God, my Father, a crystal-clear mirror to reflect Your Love, my love, and to allow my fellow humans to rejoice.

What would help me to say an unconditional “yes” to my life exactly as it is today?
By going out and amazing God/Absolute Beingness as much as God/Absolute Beingness amazes me. Then that, “Unconditional Yes!”, will be a done deal!
Ty for your honesty 🙂 …….after all is said and none , (and then on to the next question of the day)
Indeed! Is it not imposable to have a “perceived conflict” unless there is within one’s self, a vibrational resonance resonating WITH THAT perceived, ?offence?”, (be the “offender/or/?conflict-er”, internal or external? )
Lets be honest with ourselves …..these so-called “conflicts” ARE the best Teachers we have on our journey...
Lets be honest with ourselves …..these so-called “conflicts” ARE the best Teachers we have on our journey back home. The Divine Plan, (which we are in its totality) is set-up so Perfectly!
Yes. Right Action emanating out of Rational (non-egoic ) mind thinking. Observation and Intrspection are the two keys to right action.
Amen Indeed!
Both the Essene Christians and the Sufis have a very direct and accurate expression for Gratitude.
“Your life is God’s gift to you. What you do with your life is your gift to God.”
Wouldn’t it be the Ultimate state of Gratitude if all of Humanity did the same? Bringing the “Kingdom of Heaven” into awareness on the earthly realm is just that simple!
