Gratefulness
Perseverance and resilience I think apply today. I’m battling a common flu/cold. I think of the hard work it was for me to attend school as a child. I had to cross fields and be scared of a horse on the way. In secondary school I crossed fields, got on a bike and then got a bus in all weathers.
Be open and question my assumptions. Be curious and interested in others.
The opportunity to return to the moment, to presence, to being with what is.
Continuing my commitment to awareness and being in the moment brings these invitations along.
I look at the question and think of the sphere of influence I have today. It may be small but it touches the world because we are interconnected. By bringing awareness to my inner and outer life I can have a positive impact.
Today I talked with the person who is painting in my house. He was so considerate and a joy to work with. He did touch my life today and I am grateful for that.
With my students!.To connect with younger ones I have to bring out the play aspect of myself.
I would be happy with the passion of my co worker. She works to forge new directions for kids. She forges a trail with new programs. She questions and challenges old ideas. She is a true advocate for children. She is also kind and connects easily with people and kids.
I associate this word miraculous with healing. I have read of people who have experienced healing of physical ailments when they have healed relationships. This does not mean I believe in a simple co relation.
I value life’s lessons. They are a guide to becoming who I am meant to be.
It depends on the person and the moment. By being in tune with them. Being concerned about them. Wishing them well opens up opportunities to show that you care.
Staying in the present helps me see more roses. We are wired to look out for thorns and they are unavoidable. However life is short and while we can work with all the hard things that come our way because we can’t stop them anyway, we can turn our attention to what is good and pleasurable. I’m thinking of Awakening Joy and /maybe Rick Hanson’s book on the brain that remind us to savor the beautiful moments and those moments will increase.
People who give back, who devote their lives to a cause, little kids who raise money for others. There are countless examples and they always take my breath away,
be present for the ups and downs, the mistakes the hopes and losses. Be present for all the gifts they bring and bring kindness to the journey.
a place of kindness and respect.
Bring your full attention, Be open, listen and spend time with the person or things.
kinder to myself. More at peace.
physical needs – shelter, and food. This was no small task when I was growing up because my parents provided these at great sacrifice and I really appreciate what it took to give these to me. Especially my mom because she had a sick husband to take care of as well as be a breadwinner and take care of children. Love you mom.
Life is about art. We create all the time. I create when I knit and cook which I love to do. As an appreciator I am touched deeply by what others create which is everywhere all around us.
Most times it is early morning when I get up. Soon I will hear the birds and it will be heavenly. I usually meditate in the morning which makes it extra quiet.. However, if it is winter I sometimes worry about the roads outside for driving. So I will add another time and that is when my work is done for the day, I have the house to myself and I have the company of my dog and there’s nothing to do and nowhere to go.
