Gratefulness
more of a realization that I have a long way to go in terms of grateful living at all times. I definitely get thru moments of anger and/or despair quickly and those moments are few. however, I need to incorporate more daily reflections/positive exercises than simply my “30 to be sturdy” in the morning. I saw Kevin’s response and yes, I am daily surprised by my children’s amazingness!!
in middle school meeting African-American and Latino peers (thru basketball) taught me my white world was not a real world. my parents taught me about family, responsibility, treating others w respect. ms haggerty my algebra II teacher taught me that the smartest person I’d met was female. my coaches taught me hard work, having each others back in a productive way, holding each other accountable to a high standard, winning and losing w equal insight gained. friends that ...

I am grateful for the entire adventure of today June 26, 2017. the beginning of another new week. “Thank God It’s Monday!!!” is a catch phrase from my favorite motivational speaker Eric Thomas. converting another ebook into iBooks and other exciting “serving others” activities.
the more we treat all aspects of our life as a gift, it becomes easier to stay in gratefulness. we have so many to help realize that they are amazing and their gifts are extraordinary. life has beat the amazing out of us. we can do it!!
there is so much greatness and beauty in nature, people, events. the “awe” moments inspire me…humble me…bring joy…remind me of collective connectedness. truly thankful
I have shelter, food, water, clothes. I have love in my life. my health is good and moving towards even better, I have a passion and a purpose. now…how to ensure that the collective, the human “race” has each of these…that’s our calling.
the word privilege as a white male in America has nothing but (in my opinion) anunearned ed ness meaning attached to it. only when I am actively working to erase (best word I could think) those privileges…or better yet…actively working to make those privileges available to everyone in this country and around the world, do I feel any sense of thankfulness. I feel gratitude towards anyone that puts into action this mission of creating “privileges”/human rights for ever...

it has helped me immensely in my personal life and in my vocation. waking up, continuing thru the day, and then in my ending of the day with gratefulness keeps me seeing situations/moments/people in the best possible light. gratefulness doesn’t equal soft…it means aware and wanting to serve.
treating others w respect. working for justice using love for people . helping others move towards happiness thru example, actions, and words.
this made me think extra hard about how do I approach each day? I definitely put together a to do list and a schedule. however, I definitely allow (ok, I’m mostly successful) each moment to be noticed and important. this is why early rising is important. the 30 to be sturdy (30 min of gratefulness, positive/motivational reading/video watching, stretching/meditation/positive self-talk) + doing as much prep work for the day as possible helps me be flexible and inviting to experiences ...

I am. I was reflecting this morning on the so many that have reached out to me in the course of my life. I have gladly worked each day to reciprocate to the world. I am truly grateful for all of the moments because they have all brought me here. amazing
I have one particular person (and many acts) that I need to fully accept and forgive. I keep convincing myself I have already but know I have not. I will continue to work on completely letting go of the past craziness perpetrated upon me.
I take today’s question the same as if today is your last day on earth. if we don’t live with passion…if we don’t appreciate each moment to its fullest…if we don’t do our best (which is definitely at different levels all the time but w the same intent) in each moment, we are missing out.
not letting past pains or disappointments affect present moments. looking at each moment as an opportunity keeps me open.
I’ve been meditating/thinking on a presentation to teachers called “vocation or profession?”. the every day journey is full of tasks that fulfill the mission/vocation. spreading connectedness…spreading gratefulness…spreading love and peace, etc… is our mission. this vocation requires tasks be undertaken including the task of putting positive and grateful energy out into the world.

the busiest times of each day are especially when gifts of the day are in action. love, connection, forward movement, thoughtfulness, breathing, positive thinking. the act of and spirit of gratefulness paves the way for any and all busiest moments to be fruitful. I try and teach young people that hard work and stress need not go hand in hand.
I do believe we are connected. when others are putting forth positive efforts I feel it benefits me. I strive to do the same each day. I am thankful for the people that do this. if we can connect more and sync it up, we will definitely make a difference.
I get “in the flow” by seeing the possibilities of life. I get in the flow when my preparation/study meet my positive outlook meet my gratitude for today’s life meet my spirit to serve.
Thank you for this!
