Gratefulness
Right now I want to thank myself. In a very difficult and demanding situation at work, I.ve taken a day of to take care of myself , breathe and spread my wings.
that my parents alway supported me to get a good education and I was one of those children who really liked to study. My interest in people , especially from other countries, cultures, religions… and a high sensitivity.
To my mind came this old german poem: Mondnacht … Und meine Seele spannte Weit Ihre Flügel aus, Flog durch die stillen Lande, Als flöge sie nach Haus. Joseph v. Eichendorff
Since I work with children and teenagers, I’m in contact with playfulness, adventures every day, as with their fears and sorrows. My own adventurous side has come short lately, and this question brought me in contact with it. Thank you.
I feel iritation in me with a question like today. It creates a gap between what is and what “should” be and that doesn’t feel good to me. It reminded me of a sign thats at the entrance to a village, it says “we’ve got it nicer here” and everytime I drive by there I feel a sting, why not say we’ve got it really nice here and you can drive on and feel, yes, its really nice here and where I live, it’s also really nice.
Dear lovely people from around the world, I’m grateful for very good neighbours, who help me and Awinchen since the flu hit me a week ago. l Lucy, neighbour on the same floor, comes from Brasil and when she enters the flat, there is music, energy, warmhearted caring.. When I came home after a doctors visit she had even decorated Awinchen, put on her nicest coat, sat her on the prominent chair in the living room with a sort of lace draped around her, …..it was really funny but also very touching. being forced to stay in bed, I treated myself to a special film every afternoon. Yesterday I saw Omu Child, a documentary about a young man man , himself coming from this tribe, who started to fight the law of the elders, to kill young children, when for example, the top teeth would show first, …with all he had, threat for his life and that of his parents,… and he succeeded.!!! I’m really in awe for this courage, perceveirance and humanity. I watched on amazon prime, on you tube there is a lecture of Lale. And isn’ t there anything more relaxing in this world, than lying in bed with the little dog next to you, chewing (with only 2 teeth left) on her stick. ? may you all have a wonderful day in the old and the new worlds????
What comes to my mind first , is a tree from my childhood that stood a bit up the hill from my parents house. When my brother and me did s.th. tricky, like pour a glas of cold water down the neck of our grandma, we would run away and climb on the tree. There we could overlook the whole village and waited until s.b. showed up at our house, to then come home.and have only a very mild complaint.
The will to survive and at the same time the trust to let go, even if it meant that I would die. And I found that in very serious situations, in hospital, or once I was in a train with a bomb right in front of it, ..my fellow human beings were always very kind, caring and build a network of helping each other. In German I gave it the name “Schicksalsgemeinschaft”. That gives me trust . And this here is also a community like that and I’m deeply grateful that I can experienc...

First comes to mind my little dog and all the other dogs I had before her. They love you the matter what and live totally in the moment. I learned that most, when they were old or very ill. I tend to worry or be scared what might happen. But when they have a good day, they just really enjoy it, without locking back or ahead. I’m getting better with that attitude.
Dear Ose, thank you very much for your response. . I had forgotten this poem by Hermann Hesse and I’m looking forward to reading it and listening to it.The pictures that these poems evoke, are so beautiful, peaceful and free …very important for my soul to breathe.and fly.
Dear Elizabeth, whenever I read your name, I get a smile on my face, because I see you traveling on a flying carpet with a bunch of kids around.Happy journey in this new year !
Dear Nancy, they are so beautiful !!!! May I ask you what type of paint you use for the stones ?
Cara Anna, grazie for your heartfelt answer.
Thank you, dear Nancy.! You know I’m still seeing your wonderful, magical trees in front of me. ????
thank you, dear grateful sea
Dear Cintia, you are also in my heart and in my prayers !
Dear Nancy, what an absolutely stunning tree. I’ve often done with myself and with my patients the visualisation of being a tree, feeling the roots, the stem, the branches… the outcome is a tree that symbolizes your life, perhaps with not enough roots…I will try to meditate your tree, it must be mindblowing. Thanks a lot for the picture ????
