I am grateful for presence, a good sense of humor, courage to hold the mirror up when I need a good look at myself and the ability and willingness to be a good listener.
I do prefer people who don’t stay on the surface of life and who don’t lie to their deep soul, if I have to find a common quality in my friends. But I am lucky as I can consider many people as my friends. Each one, in her/his own way, listens and sees with the heart. As life flows through right and curved paths, sometimes I need a kind of people, sometimes other ones.
Like Kevin, I don’t seek qualities in a person I call a friend. They are and have what they are and have. I try to recognize and appreciate that.
I especially treasure friends who can share space without the need to fill it with conversation.
