The chaotic moments can even strengthen my confidence in the abiding nature of peace that has been carefully nurtured and well tended every day. It reminds me of how deep rooted trees can withstand even very strong storms. 2 Reply Javier Visionquest6 years agoJavier VisionquestThe practice of non-reaction. I’ve developed a lot of that emotional resilience in working with bees. Every moment of an open hive is anxious, at the very least, for the colony. 3 Reply Deb6 years agoDebVery well stated, G. B. ! I totally agree with you! 1 Reply Ed Schulte6 years agoEd SchulteHow can I cultivate peace in the midst of chaotic moments? This was stated by Brother David in a 'word of the day' last week. Br David is pointing to a very important universal symbol, the “cross” used long before adopted by any religions. Simply put he is referring the four elements, earth, water, fire….. ( the fourth being Ether , some traditions say ‘air’, for what ever reason Br David did mention this one ) of creation. “Only if we become calm as earth [Shamal] , fluid as water [Gabriel], and blazing as fire [Michael] will we able to rise to the task of peacemaking. BR. DAVID STEINDL-RAST We Essenes perceive the symbol of the cross in detail this way……….. Gradually we will make progress through incarnation in matter, on the cross of the four elements: Earth, Water, Fire and Ether. This is the way towards real life and redemption. This is the way to the real resurrection -living in a fully awakened, Self-Aware state. This is a kind of life that cannot be compared with the life most people are living now in the shadows of their illusions instead of the light. And this light will rise from within each of us. But unless you forsake your egoistic self-you should not expect your personality self to be resurrected as the Soul-Self in Self-Realization. Breathe and connect to the source, I am a keeper of the flame.. 5 Reply Doreen Nixon6 years agoDoreen NixonI can cultivate peace in the midst of chaotic moments by connecting with my breathe and my heart center. Through that balance I can think loving kindness thoughts and bring love and compassion to the moment. 4 Reply Christina6 years agoChristinaAs I’ve shared here, I’m a 12-stepper. These days, thinking how so much of what I’m taught in the recovery programs comes down to simply trusting God. I can CHOOSE to have trust, hope in my heart and “interior dialogue.” And isn’t that choosing love over fear, which I’ve heard are the only 2 emotions. 7 Reply Malag6 years agoMalagTake a moment. Breathe. Where possible slow down. Also when I accept there are always problems and chaos is part of normality, sometimes I can take comfort from that and not take it personally. 3 Reply « Previous 1 2 My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
