What I am working on at the moment are the micro-goods: tiny things that may have a positive impact on others. I’m only starting to flex that muscle but am looking forward to what it may bring. 2 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmThe word of today particularly resonated with me, we have been made to believe that letting go will leave us with nothing but letting go gives us freedom instead… Letting go of material and non material things that don’t serve us well will make space for more meaningful things in life. 2 Reply Deb Waites7 years agoDeb WaitesAlways I begin again to live my life intentionally, which I hope and trust will result in it being meaningful. Being. Doing. At One with God. Always. All ways. 2 Reply Fei-Fei7 years agoFei-FeiDo my part well. Be grateful for my opportunity to work on this project in astrophysics, and make my small contribution and earn a PhD degree on the way; read something aloud every day so that I can speak better, which will let others get to know my thoughts more easily. 2 Reply Nina7 years agoNinabeing able to accept myself and others without judgement and with the knowledge that there is a purpose for each one of us. being able to love unconditionally. 4 Reply Antoinette7 years agoAntoinetteI can make this life more meaningful by living truthfully true to my intentions for this life. Within the next 6-18 months I have created intentions which will help me to live true to my life’s purpose. I’m excited about my desires becoming real. It’s like the metamorphosis of spring unfolding right before me. Today is Good Friday and even if we are not religious, we can be thankful for Jesus and his teachings. Today gives meaning to my life because it’s like an awakening from a challenging time of my life. Like yesterday’s question made us think about the mud of life which is necessary for growth, today we can reflect on the resurrection of life. We have the opportunity to look for ways to manifest our deep desires and come home to our true selves. Today I find meaning in the resurrection and I’m grateful for love. I can ask myself Is there a story behind any of these thoughts. Can I drop the story? If I can do that something more meaningful will emerge because I will be more in touch with my true purpose here in this life. 3 Reply Ed Schulte7 years agoEd SchulteYes Indeed Kathleen ! An example of a “Pre-so called “Sufism” Are the people of the Caucus Mountain regions. They practiced what they called “Ahmsta Kebzeh”. Maybe it might be easier to ask what does a meaningful day look like for me. A meaningful day would be one that I am awake and aware of the wonder around me. I would see and hear. I would have the will, the desire even, and the energy to contribute to the world around me. The contributions could be as simple as sharing a smile. Or testing the limits of my skills and knowledge to the tasks (opportunities!) that arise. So then... First I would ask: what does a meaningful life look like for me? So then, I can make my life more meaningful today by practicing awareness, take care of my personal physical needs for health, nutrition, rest, and exercise, and expand my consciousness beyond myself. May the lighting of this candle be a reminder of the memories we have shared, a representation of the everlasting impact you have made upon our lives. 3 Reply Ed Schulte7 years agoEd SchulteHow can I make my life more meaningful, starting today? Rumi makes good advice for this day called, “Good Friday” Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened, Don’t open the door to the study and begin reading. Take down a musical Instrument Let the beauty we love be what we do. Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and Kiss the ground. 5 Reply Pilgrim7 years agoPilgrimMy favorite words from Rumi. Day by day the bulbs in our gardens are inching upward. While at the hardware store getting supplies, I am making an effort to focus and take in the feel of the place. And while interacting with employees, I’m enjoying more of their presence as persons and not just as information funnels who will lead me to a product. Some of these things I have had to jam in between doing other duties when I was working full-time and then some. Now that I am retired, I am discovering that these “old tapes” on how to get stuff done no longer need to be heeded in the same way. It surprises me too, aware that I’ve been retired now for eighteen months, that it’s taken me this long to realize this! I took the dog out this morning and utilized all my senses to take in the breathtaking day. I felt full of gratitude for this Good Friday. 1 Reply Kevin7 years agoKevinHello Antoinette, you mentioned taking out your dog….our dog, Gracie, is blind and I oftentimes watch her take everything in with her remaining keen senses of smell, touch and hearing. She’s been blind now almost a year and maneuvers her way all around the house inside and out with ease. We’ve noticed how her remaining senses have ramped up since losing her sight and how happy she seems overall. Sometimes I look at her and think, I should be more like her day in and day out. 0 Reply Pilgrim7 years agoPilgrim🙂 0 Reply Christina7 years agoChristinaTo make my life more meaningful today, Friday, I can pursue my spiritual practices, as I do every day.
