I might allow these gifts more full expression in the world through prayer, surrendered action, courage, taking baby steps, and finding and building support along the way to keep taking risks and keep going. Pushing myself to set small goals and take baby steps outside my comfort zone is a good start! 1 Reply kathleen7 years agokathleenThis is a hard question for me. I teach and I think I am good at helping kids reach their potential. Right now I am continuing investing time in grant writing so my students have more opportunity. However I see my mission in teaching as caring for the whole child. I really like creating safe places for kids and people to interact together. 4 Reply Hot Sauce7 years agoHot SauceI am good at writing, philosophy, religion/spirituality, science, psychology, singing, acting, and manifestation. I can write about topics in my interest areas that are relevant for today's world; write about my philosophy to share my values with others and challenge them to agree or disagree and share their views; use the tools that world religions and spiritualities provide to live a more ethical, wise life; help or tutor students struggling in science classes; implement psychology into my own... I’m thankful that I’m given the opportunity to serve every day (being in the medical field) and that I can try to project healing love through my work. 3 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelinspiring (especially students) to live in consciousness, gratefulness and to have "effort optimism"/"growth mindset". creating curriculum for teachers to use in their classroom that's on their desktop, easy to use, and relevant through YouTube motivational videos like at 2gether Tuesday and 2gether We Will Elementary School channels. helping parents that come to "parenting workshops" to learn how "to fix their child" leave with strategies "to fix" themselves first and then be an example of co... inspiring (especially students) to live in consciousness, gratefulness and to have “effort optimism”/”growth mindset”. creating curriculum for teachers to use in their classroom that’s on their desktop, easy to use, and relevant through YouTube motivational videos like at 2gether Tuesday and 2gether We Will Elementary School channels. helping parents that come to “parenting workshops” to learn how “to fix their child” leave with strategies “to fix” themselves first and then be an example of consciousness and gratitude for their child. And these skillsets get utilized in somewhat organic, unplanned and natural ways as I move through time in early retirement. Lately I have been holding up the thought, in prayer and in contemplation, the concept of doing “photography for good,” in ways that benefit others and brings either comfort or awareness to an issue. The concept is not new, I realize, and there exist several organizations that do this on a large scale, globally, and sometimes for profit, or personal enrichment, which I am not interested in. My thought is to bring the concept of “photography for good” into a spiritual setting, perhaps under the care of Quakers, so that those who have a passion for creating images can nurture one another, prayerfully, share ideas, and produce photographic projects that in the end benefit others in ways that might not happen if working individually. That’s my idea. I welcome comments or ideas from the good people at Gratefulness. (Thanks) Read More5 Reply Anna7 years agoAnnadear Kevin I believe that your idea is really wonderful and noble. I’ve started to write and submit to online magazines (amazing how many of them there are!) Received my first notice of publication this week: in a 12-step magazine (I’m a 12-stepper.) Fun to see my name in print again. Hope to see many more! A good day to all who stop here! 5 Reply Anna7 years agoAnnaCongratulations Christina! I wish you can see your name in others publications. What is the matter of your articles, if I am not too curious? 0 Reply Christina7 years agoChristinaI like to write on the themes they provide: one was Dating, another, What Really Matters, another, Hope. Thanks for asking, Anna! 1 Reply Kevin7 years agoKevinCongratulations Christina! I used to write a column for a small local paper some years ago and I enjoyed it greatly. I'm not sure that I'd do that again...but maybe...as my post to today's questions reveals just now! I have enjoyed the articles that I wrote for Gratefulness though, and a couple of other online sites too, but I'm not sure I'd want to get back into doing a weekly, or even a monthly gig again....and all for zero $! But really, I'm very happy to hear that you're getting back out ... Congratulations Christina! I used to write a column for a small local paper some years ago and I enjoyed it greatly.
