One special woman. She lives as loving as ones spirit could shine. To her dogs, her family, colleagues and friends; her heart lies open to those who grace her presence. Wisdom well beyond her years, she gives daily to young lives in need.. a true gift to this earth, I have so much to be thankful to have recently met this hidden gem.
Beautiful image here. Thank you.
A number of people I regularly interact with on here! ????
“Wisdom is greater than silver or gold. Nothing you want can compare with Her.” Rick has allowed me to look at race in the United States in a new way and has made me more aware of the issues surrounding it. I appreciate him because he is empowering me to be more inclusive and loving to all people, particularly people of color.
Ben is the type of person who is friendly to everyone and brings a smile to people’s faces by just saying hello. His kind demeanor and morning greetings start the day off right. Thankful for having him at the workplace.
Oh, this one is easy! A woman in her 70s who lives on the West Coast contacted me by email to tell me how much she liked my poetry book, Rain, Lilies, Luck. We began a correspondence. She is amazing. A retired school teacher who taught hundreds of kids. Now volunteers at hospices and bakes for people. Has a huge heart and an innocence that breaks me open. She is gay and had to deal with a lot of injustice. I am blessed Marcella is now in my life. She is a great spirit.
I met a lovely elderly woman at the Chautauqua Institute last week. We ate dinner with her and her husband and I thought she was remarkable and simply beautiful. I most likely will never see her again, but those moments we spent together will not be forgotten.
Recently I met a couple, both teachers, whom we had the honor to be with in a group setting. Both loving, kind and wise in heart, these very experienced teachers were guiding us with great care and oversight through psychological and spiritual realms during a seminar. It was an extraordinary experience. Such a gift they conveyed!
May they both be embedded in light and love, and may their hearts be always happy and at peace. I bow my head deeply in deep gratefulness to them.
Well, I haven’t met anyone recently… but now I will be looking for that gem.
each student I have met. especially the ones that have been beat down by either the education system, “friends”/other students, parents/family, certain teachers, the effects of capitalism/racism/sexism or any combination. encouraging their courage, teaching them accurate thinking, and helping them find their own gifts shines up their “gem qualities”. and White Sun to use as musical backdrop for meditation and positive thought practice
Loving this… Reminds me of the beginning of the school year when I would meet my kids; Often, meeting their parents was a “gem experience,” too.
Ajahn Siripañño. A laser cut heavenly diamond of a muni gem hidden in the Triple Gem. Hidden if you don’t know his name that is.
Goodness, I am sitting here stumped, realizing that I cannot recall anyone I have met recently that I would consider a “gem.” Not sure what that says about me, actually! Perhaps I need new friends or I need to expand my horizons, or just stop being so darn content with all my interactions with people in general? I guess all the people in my life at the moment just sparkle and glow without being “hidden!”
Marijo Puleo. Discovered a great set of her podcasts. Lots of angles on mindfulness and meditation and spirituality.
