Gratefulness
actions that spring from thoughts and imagination. working through the daily interference trying to disrupt my mission. my family. the kindness of people. encouraging courage.
at 19 I was very fortunate to find my “vocation” of being an educator. at 54 I was fortunate to feel that I accumulated enough curriculum and was a good communicator to move beyond only the school I was at and share to as many schools, organizations, teams, parents, and young people as possible on how we mess up the “system” that has put our world in the spot its in. erasing anxiety “disorders”, the “achievement gap” gets me up early each morn...

wholeheartedly in action is passion, effort, kindness, love, empathy. daily prayer/meditation/breathing/positive thinking invitee invisible “help”, strength & calmness. reading, watching, observing, listening are visible “helps” towards living wholeheartedly.

I have the power to change the world. I have the power to be better than I was yesterday. and yes music!!! hahhhhhh
calmer. how does this affect the larger group as well as an individual/myself. viewing the challenge from a positive angle. know that I am doing my very best and putting maximum effort into the challenge (the process) so that the outcome will have its best opportunity to be helpful (the product). I will know that I did my best.
for me it was breaking away from organized, ritualized religion (initially Lutheran but also other “flavors” of Christianity). in no way am I disparaging it, but for me it was dampening my spirit instead of lifting. I found my spirituality when I was shown liberation theology, dove into the Bible, and learned tenets of the other paths to spirituality the world has to offer.
peace…but, with justice. the places and people that have been torn be made whole. the perpetrators of the tearing and destroying sacrifice and give up their standing/power/means to make the wholeness happen. also, smiles…the word for the day is powerful.
I can let go of some patterns of comfortable in order to deliver materials/curriculum that will assist in affecting positive change for millions.
that I put into practice daily, what I wrote down on paper. knowledge and intent are good…execution is really key.
not to get out of the question hahhhh, but truly everyone I have taken the time to listen to. I am certain I have missed out on some opportunities to grow because I didn’t listen. however, I have been pretty good since early on in life listening to educators, coaches, peers, friends, and foes and take something to apply in my life. I like Kevin’s pointing out people so I want to mention Ms Haggerty my Algebra II teacher in HS (still the smartest person I have met), All of my coache...

Kamal Hassan my peer but also my leader.
from day one on earth at home and every day since then wherever I am. I do believe that initial and subsequent kindness towards me from so many angles formed me into a kindness giving person. the cycle of kindness is powerful.
I agree w all of the overthinking comments. also, sometimes not just listening makes it more complicated than it really is.
I have a video mash up of Oprah and a foreign language w/subtitles video on my YouTube channel 2gether Tuesday. Our Legacy Is Other People. Every person I come in contact with is “my legacy”. Treating each person with respect and they are powerful with something meaningful to contribute to the world. that’s how I’d like to be remembered.
that the science of neuropsychology has caught up to our intuition. living a grateful/thankful life, exercising, using positive thinking, creating a growth mindset vs a fixed mindset all make our brain work better.
joy is fairly constant in my life. I feel daily blessed to have a vocation not a career, a family that even in turmoil or difficult times is a source of joy, that my outlook on life is positive
it really forces me to rely upon what I should be relying upon in the light. calm thinking, rational thinking, positive thinking that it is going to work out. there is a real peace in the dark.
smile, reach out, find & see the good, engage, seek more knowledge, be grateful and spread actions of gratefulness.
Whether they are coming from a positive, grateful place or a “not so positive, grateful place”…I can learn and grow.
that I have the skill and passion to help elementary school students as much as middle and high school students.
