I have never experienced anything like this. Her sweet soul, her thoughts and feelings, her creativity, receiving this is just a blessing and opens my heart forever. 3 Reply elizabeth ward6 years agoelizabeth wardA long time ago when I was very young I received words of encouragement and appreciation from a friend and work colleague. This was a new experience for me and I was blown away by her kindness, her friendship, her warmth. 2 Reply Renie from the woods6 years agoRenie from the woodsI received a collage from my girlfriend. It stood out because it was filed with pictures of times we both enjoyed together over the last year. That was a positive reinforcement to our commitment and love. 2 Reply Hot Sauce6 years agoHot SauceMy freshman year of college, I found that learning from my religious studies professor about world religions, including my own, helped me to understand them better and have much greater clarity on what kinds of questions about reality were shady before. To this day, I am now grateful to have some clarity as to what is going on, while still having a sense of awe at the mysteries I don’t know. I remember, especially, taking Introduction to New Testament and having an appreciation for a broader knowledge about texts that used to confuse and worry the heck out of me! What strikes me is their wholehearted generosity. 2 Reply Michael6 years agoMichaelI received advice n it was simultaneously direct, loving, cutting, and caring. It both freed me and gave me a mission! 2 Reply Kathleen6 years agoKathleenIt does not sound odd at all Ose. As we continue to wake up and become more aware we become well, more aware 🙂 We’re all in this together. It helps when we share. Although it might sound odd, one of the most important experiences was one where I was shown “the red flag” to stop and review my way of reacting (as I was unable to respond constructively at that time) in special situations. I had a kind of bad habit to attack someone when I felt attacked. Then I gave back instead of being able to respond with kindness and still clearly setting boundaries, if necessary. By now, I feel I am able to do so, after having undergone a very painful process of confronting myself with this and realizing the connected aspects. What this does to others. The downward influence such reacting (instead of constructive responding) takes on all concerned, while responding adequately might lead to a widened perspective in all concerned. It was an extraordinary painful experience, but non the less I feel it was needed and finally absolutely welcome, after having worked through most aspects of the hinderances located inside myself. One of the aspects was to become more open, which is on its way by now as well. And I need to use my mind much more disciplined, for to change reacting into constructive responding. Meditation on a regular base was the choice to work on the mind´s part. I am extremely grateful, as I was helped enormously by several people to overcome this, which was not at all to be taken for granted. It could have resulted in complete despair, and to have been helped in such a situation was extraordinary kind and generous. With a deep bow, I gratefully would like to express my thanks to all concerned. It’s through this experience that I found myself caring for and invested in an indifferent world. 2 Reply Kathleen6 years agoKathleenA meaningful experience for me this past week was to deeply hear and listen to my parent's voices. He told me of the calves that are being born and other aspects of his farming life. I listened, I smiled as I heard his excitement and laughter. And then listening to my mom as she spoke about and wondered about this life with all the challenges and joys and the final mystery of mortality. I am grateful to be here to share and remember the bigger picture of living. My wife leaves me small, illustrated notes each day which ground me in love no matter what stressors are about. 4 Reply Doreen Nixon6 years agoDoreen NixonThe meaningful experience that I am thinking of is standing out because I had no idea that I was inspiring another through my own healing work. It was a genuine connection of love and respect that I had not had before. Took me by surprise. 2 Reply Kevin6 years agoKevinOccasionally, people whom I do not know personally, usually parents of previous clients or adults whom I worked with when they were young and who I don’t recognize anymore, stop me and tell me how I had helped them “way back when” through a rough period in their lives. It happens totally out of the blue and always leaves me speechless, humbled and grateful. I receive these comments as precious gifts that I hold with gratitude and joy in my heart. 3 Reply Doreen Driscoll6 years agoDoreen DriscollI can so identify !!! Her mither has just passed away….. 0 Reply Kevin6 years agoKevinAh yes, Doreen, that’s how the Holy Spirit does its work, tenderly and quietly. It’s the real “payday” for those of us engaged in ministry. There are lots more hands needing holding out there too. Cheers and blessings to you. 0 Reply My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
