Watching the chickens come running when they hear the door. And yes, a nice cup of tea! I also love my times of quiet communion with God, reading, writing, meditating, and listening. 2 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelthe entire 24 hours. for real! each everyday is truly somehow different. 3 Reply Ose7 years agoOseLike so many others here, I cherish the first cup of coffee, sitting at dawn outside on the bench and listen to the slow waking of the world, followed by meditating, and writing. In the evening, having dinner with my husband and reflecting on the day. Also yoga or a walk in nature, catching up with family or friends, wherever it fits in the day. 2 Reply kathleen7 years agokathleenI like my cup of tea at breakfast and after dinner. I do enjoy the changing weather whatever it is. Also whatever meditation time I have or journaling or reading that uplifts and revives me I really cherish that. 2 Reply Ed Schulte7 years agoEd SchulteWhat everyday happenings do I most cherish? The everyday “Happening” (which is the precursor to all other happenings in a day) the moment I re-enter consciousness, out from of the state of sleep. Immediately I Give Thanks and show Gratitude to the Intelligences which have been doing their works, repairing and re-vitalizing my 3- bodies with the Etheric Vitality needed to sustain good physical, psychical and Noetical heath. The words recited in prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread” are to often thought of as the kind of “bread” bought at a bakery! No, Please don’t think that! “Etheric Vitality / Daily bread” is the subject of the “more given” referred to in Matt; 13:12. “those who have, more will be given”. It is saying …if I respect the 3- bodies on loan to you, resting properly, avoiding stress/ anger/ guilt etc and wasteful mind thinking…..so that I have left-over Etheric Vitality……then I WILL be given more to do Loving / Creative / Self-awareness / living. This point occurs also in Matt: 25 14-30. If I have done well with the “talents” (Etheric Vitality) allotted daily … the “Master” will rewarded” me with more. And beyond that initial conscious “Thanks and Gratitude” giving I have learned and use directed breathing techniques which allow me to take in Etheric Vitality ( this vitality is not constrained by physical boundaries within the physical body) and direct it to where ever I wish, Feet, Hands, Lungs, Liver, etc, etc, to provided additional health benefits to those areas. All in all, Being a Human Being is a truly amazing “Happening”! And you bet I “Cherish” it!! Read More2 Reply Gina7 years agoGinabeing alive is a miraculous everyday happening…. 2 Reply Deb S. I love the times early in the morning outside on our front porch with bird song, their sweet visits to our feeders in the trees, hummingbirds’ antics, and fresh air that is becoming slightly cooler each day. Sunset is the other time I seek and find home to catch day’s end with Jim 99% of the ones when we are at the beach house. There we walk a few blocks to our old Whaler skiff, pointing her bow slowly to the southwest in fading light, toward our beloved protected island for a walk along the shore, in solitude most days. Often we are simply slipping quietly through the water seeking what the low-cast rays of light will catch in the circling ripples, maybe seeing porpoise families off the beam, our seabirds heading home to estuaries while we talk about our lives that moment, that day . It’s carried over now as late afternoon ritual when we are sitting outside together at our farmhouse, where sundown is a delightful, quiet, time to take stock, watching the changing light around the distant hills and farms, as we always make it home knowing of the sheer comfort and love it holds , and a priority to be back sharing this time. Clouds are puffing up as if snowy ridges toward the SE, others catching the late day’s brilliant colors of sun rays pink, orange, and red, as they reflect the light. Despite the day’s events, the world’s Hurricanes at our doors lately, though spared, yet not so for our distant friends in Texas, Florida, and more recently the Virgin Islands, this time spent well surrounded by nature’s power and beauty always brings the finest form of comfort in the solitude of the day’s end, knowing that all happens as intended, and that we have done all that can be done for this moment. Jim and I each find our favorite part of the day, whether it’s alone or together . First thing in the morning, if lucky, we are witness to unusual sights, while the silent, cooler air on soft drafts moving it upward around our house creates an incredibly fleeting meditative time. The shift in temperatures those days brings a surprise by a vision of pre-dawn fog that lies low in the fields until the sun’s rays become dominant , with their sudden disappearance that moves like a wave across the view slowly, escaping our camera’s view. By evening, all are blessed even on our “bluest” days, as we are seemingly cleansed by moon rise upon a new evening of rising stars speaking of better times to come. All feels right within. It uplifts and inspires me so much! 2 Reply Hot Sauce7 years agoHot SauceI cherish when I hear the birds sing, crickets chirp, bugs hum; when I find myself in harmony with the Tao and improving while running; when I learn something new in a class and gain wisdom; when I eat a delicious food; when I look up and see the stars and moon; and when I see a storm and view it as Source’s immense power! All these things are beautiful to me. 1 Reply Philip och Alexander7 years agoPhilip och AlexanderAtt kunna kliva ur sängen och ta dagen som den kommer. 1 Reply Ed Schulte7 years agoEd SchulteRumi says…. “Doe wat je liefde bent, wat je doet. Sitting in the porch swing, listening to the birds awaken, watching as the sky slowly fills with light. And once I can see well enough, writing in my gratitude journal. My daily practice. 3 Reply Gina7 years agoGinainspiring….thanks! 0 Reply Patjos7 years agoPatjosWow, sounds like bliss! :))) 1 Reply grateful sea7 years agograteful seaYes, thank you. 0 Reply Francine Marie Tolf7 years agoFrancine Marie TolfLike just about everybody else, I delight in my morning rituals. I also love my lunch walks through the park just outside where I work, talking every day with Marc (who is in assisted living), coming home to my cat, Lillly, and watching good TV shows from Netflix. (I get the dvds thru the mail and people at work tease me: “Wow, I didn’t know they still did it the old-fashioned way!” 5 Reply Patjos7 years agoPatjosI’m with you on the daily walk through the park, after quietly rejoicing that a parking space was there waiting for me, I get a 5 minute stroll through the park which is always so refreshing for my mind. And I agree that there is something about waiting for the dvd to arrive and much of the time, for me anyway, having forgotten which one I’d ordered! :))) 1 Reply Deb7 years agoDebThe nice thing about the dvds is you get the option to watch special features or commentary! It’s almost like a reality check to make me realize that life is all about the experiences that make me happy. 2 Reply Kit7 years agoKitI cherish the solitude of early mornings. I welcome the sunrise and the simple joy of a brand new day. I relish the quiet time sitting on the deck and offering prayers of thanksgiving for the freedom to pray and worship. To witness the new day awakening all around me is beyond words. This opens my heart each and every day. 2 Reply Mary Agnes Leonard7 years agoMary Agnes LeonardThe dawn gently revealing that the Universe…and my precious morning birds, my trees, my prayers…are still here…and so am I! Earlier up is better, giving us more time for reflection, meditation, prayer, writing, leading to next hours of working- which means several different things to me including planning a list for the day, *(” a ten-minute, tops ,”must”), feeding creatures awakening, starting laundry and such, selecting a time for a yoga practice in town, then doing my best to achieve the list as the morning and day progress. It’s a lovely, flexible concept which is why I still love it, and with the best of intentions I have a list in hand, timing planned allowing hopefully for time to “smell the flowers” in passing as well as talking to people along the way throughout the day. I LOVE it that each day is indeed different! I wouldn’t swap it for the world, but it doesn’t stop me sometimes dreaming of a meditation in a certain place every day, or watching a sunrise (what are they again?) :))) Lots of love Deb, P. 0 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
