So, indeed, what’s your weakness can lead to strength! Moving forward despite weakness provides innovation. 2 Reply Hot Sauce7 years agoHot SauceFor three years now, I have been at a plateau in my running in both cross country and track. Obviously, there is something physical, mental, or both that I need to figure out, but I think once I solve the mystery, I will be at a level of mastery in manifesting what I desire. 1 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorThree years?! Now I don’t mean to criticize, but I am calling STASIS here Sauce! 0 Reply SeeAreLow7 years agoSeeAreLowI would be turning my weakness into a strength. It’s always a challenge to master things. This would be beneficial to work on. 3 Reply Aine7 years agoAineIn many ways, we never really know in the moment what is hindrance and what is furtherance. We certainly know what is pleasant or unpleasant, easy or hard, but it is generally not given to us to know where it fits in the grand scheme of our lives. There is a section in C.S. Lewis’ book, “The Horse and His Boy,” which is one of the lesser known Chronicles of Narnia but probably my favorite. All sorts of things have happened to the main characters, and one of them is discussing what had happened to him with Aslan. In that gentle conversation, the boy is shown how the very things that had terrified him had actually been for his ultimate good, his saving and not his destruction. In her book When Things Fall Apart she says: “The third method for working with chaos is to regard whatever arises as the manifestation of awakened energy. We can regard ourselves as already awake; we can regard our world as already sacred.” I have been trying this approach to things that would usually disturb me and it makes a big difference. What if that painful email from a friend contains wisdom for the whole of our relationship? What if something is ready to arise and change? What if all the images and examples of racism that seem to be on the news too often is “the manifestation of awakened energy” and is taking the veil off of truth that has existed all too long and is leading us to true change – to a different sense of community and oneness? What if the systems and structures of racism topple because of this new awareness? My head is spinning from the possibilities that arise if I look at everything as wisdom in action. Blessings, KC 0 Reply Amor fati7 years agoAmor fatiThank you for your radical hope 0 Reply Carol7 years agoCarolWe tend to think that life is not fair when a hindrance presents itself but as a friend of mine says, “It’s just part of the journey.” If we can forsake judgment, it is easier to cope because surrendering to “what is” allows me to be open and honest with myself. It dissolves the duality of good or bad and makes it easier for me to go with the flow. . “Why me?” is a waste of my energy or as my wise and witty son would say, “Why not, you?” 3 Reply Amor fati7 years agoAmor fatiTo realize that many things ‘just happen’ and are neither right or wrong or anyone’s fault is so freeing 0 Reply Gina7 years agoGinaWhy not, you?….. good perspective….leave it to a child to come up with it…. 0 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelI really feel only my mind, my blocks, my unresolved insecurities hinder me. continuing to undo anything that has been holding me back definitely moves me further forward. 1 Reply Jeff7 years agoJeffIn our weakness we find strength in Divine Providence. When we can’t do, we learn to rely on God’s Can. In this way, our personal hindrances become our furtherances, if we learn to trust Him. See 2 Cor 12:7-10. 3 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmJust listened to the talk of Mary O’Malley on the Self-Acceptance Summit, she spoke about her book “What’s in the Way Is the Way” … I felt both curious and inspired to see my challenges in a different light, and now even more reading this question 6 Reply Anna7 years agoAnnaWonderful Palm, what is in the way is the way. Ultimately, it is an invitation to be grateful, in my opinion. 1 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmI agree dear Anna, thanks for the feedback ???? 1 Reply Gina7 years agoGinaWhat’s in the way, is the way, love it… 1 Reply Always Learning7 years agoAlways LearningABSOLUTELY! ???? My challenges and obstacles are what have created my success and my character. I am wiser, more resilient, more willing to take risks, more okay with failing. I am grateful for the lessons that have made me stronger and more able to take on life’s challenges. There are many things I do not want to live through again; but, the experiences taught me invaluable lessons. 5 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorSounds like you learned your lesson. I understand what you mean by not wanting to go through a tough time again. Man, I can relate to challenges and obstacles. I think once life beats the living shit out of you badly enough, a place is reached inside where nothing phases you anymore, but not in a pessimistic and unproductive manner, it's more like well shit I've been through it all and ain't afraid of death himself so how can I use this fearless power to benefit others because nothing can...
