I love doing a pattern e.g. lace, then watching the design emerge, row by row…. 1 Reply Sean Fargo7 years agoSean FargoI express my creativity through the design and free content of my website of mindfulness exercises, https://mindfulnessexercises.com 4 Reply Antoinette7 years agoAntoinetteI believe I express my creative side at work naturally. So, I hope to ignite the flame of creativity into my business which I started 5 years ago. Core Peace is an outreach organization devoted to mindfulness meditation awareness and yoga for a balanced life. I’m excited to reopen and by research grants I hope to help more scientific research to support and prove the health benefits behind mindfulness meditation awareness. Thanks for today’s question! I hope it infuses me with the motivation to allow the creativity to flow! When I considered this, I saw she was right, that although this place is very beautiful, it has indeed lacked the energy of Joy. We are slowly emerging from a very difficult decade, and Struggle has been far more constant a visitor than Joy. Thus, my creativity at the moment is being expressed in finding ways to decorate in Joy. I have found items at Habitat ReStore, and shopgoodwill.com, which makes me... My three boys have gone through a very hard last year with a divorce and it’s not even over yet! 12 months and more to come. I hope that the light is shining brighter and brighter for all of us! My ex included. I’m trying to drop the bag of resentment, hurt, anger, and all of the emotions that come with a divorce. I know I can’t push the feelings away, but I can try to start to change my attitude. I believe that time has... Aine, I love this idea! This is exactly what I’m looking to do! Any tips you have are greatly appreciated! Happy joy! Read More2 Reply Aine7 years agoAineAntoinette, I understand. Kudos to you for wanting to drop the heavy load and replace it with a lighter backpack! This past year has been quite trying and painful for me as well, and moving on sounds mighty good! In all honesty, when my friend said this to me, it hit me how much I had lost contact with Joy and with what brings a smile to my face. Considering that question alone was very therapeutic. I actually tried Googling Joy and Joyful and other terms to see what ideas are out there... Antoinette, I understand. In all honesty, when my friend said this to me, it hit me how much I had lost contact with Joy and with what brings a smile to my face. Considering that question alone was very therapeutic. I actually tried Googling Joy and Joyful and other terms to see what ideas are out there. There were a few blogs, but what came out most were things like light, beauty, flowers, birds, butterflies, and whatever brings a sweet smile to your face. Keeping things clean and clutter free were also mentioned, and I realized I do enjoy a good vacuum stripe in the carpet. Lol For me, I wanted to go with beautiful items AND fun items. I love animals and have three rescued dogs, one rescued cat, and a flock of happy free range chickens, so naturally I wound up with some whimsical animal pieces, including a 1950’s taxi with a llama sticking out the window and some black kitty prints that look like our cat (when he’s awake…) They made me smile! I also love flowers, wild birds, and dragons, and I picked up some of these items via resale. The core idea is to have fun rediscovering what makes you and your boys smile. That would be an awesome positive exercise. Have each person come up with ideas, you decide on a budget, then maybe you all make a trip to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore nearest you. Or poke around shopgoodwill.com looking for auctions. Then have fun shopping! Another idea I posted in the lounge to Diane re planting bulbs, if you like flowers. I love having something to look forward to during winter! May the Joy abound in your life! God-willing, it will involve an account of my life as a spirit before I descended into the body; a prophecy given to my mother by an angel of the LORD before my birth; some embellished accounts and mystical interpretations of events; and maybe some stories about the future. 3 Reply Deb7 years agoDebI express my creativity through how I live my daily life. Thru the calligraphy I do. 4 Reply Francine Marie Tolf7 years agoFrancine Marie TolfFor years it was through poetry and essays, but I no longer write these days except for my journal. I try to be creative in my gratitude, my prayer, my plant-based diet and lately my interpretation of Mark’s Gospel (I am taking a class). I am trying to shatter old, harmful concepts of “God” and trying to trust the new God that arises. 5 Reply kathleen7 years agokathleenRight now I feel my creativity is reflected in a solution based approach to problem solving at work. So little time and so much to do means being crafty and clever with time management and alsoinspiring and motivating others to be their best. 6 Reply Kit7 years agoKitwith my heart. with my mind’s eye. with my emotions. with my sadness. with my joy. with my humbleness. I create from within. 5 Reply Lunamagicae7 years agoLunamagicaeThrough all aspects of life. My clothes, the day I have planned for myself/friends/dogs. The advice I give. Through my Instagram page dedicated to spirituality. Through my little Lunamagicae shop. Through the dishes I decide to cook myself. So so many ways. 5 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmI am in a “creative” profession that, however, does not give me most joy. I feel freer to express my creativity when on my own, organising my space, cooking a meal, writing or knitting. 6 Reply Antoinette7 years agoAntoinettePalm , Wonderful that you do so many creative things. I stated knitting a few years ago! I’m not good at it at all but it’s relaxing. Almost all Norwegians are amazing at knitting! It’s something the learn at age 5! I grew up in the USA and it isn’t as common. Or at least not where I went to school! 2 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmAntoinette, I learned the basics of knitting with the nuns in primary school, I can't remember at what age (it's amazing how early the Norwegians start!), and took to knitting again recently through a charity project at my doctor's waiting rooms. I thought I had forgot but, once I asked the ladies at reception, I realized I could still do it and, as you say, I found it so relaxing... I also find it is a great way to connect with other ladies and I am planning to join a knitting group at a church... I am glad I could connect with you as well, it doesn’t matter if we are not so good at it haha!
