Practice writing, doing art, dancing, singing, celebrating, connecting, sharing … smiling a lot. Opening up. Surrendering to what is. Enjoying, embracing, sharing and celebrating the moments a whole lot more! ….
I would voice my gratitude to every single human, plant, animal in this crazy weird beautiful world we live in.
What people might think? Social conformity?
I would live within the direct and unimpeded connection with Creation, as in “what people might think” of as a wild animal.
No idea. I would probably start handing out flyers and copies of certain sutras everywhere. Literally everywhere. But the world does not operate this way so this question is asking one to live in fantasy land here for a moment but I prefer to strive to live according to social propriety as Confucius expounded upon!
I don’t care what people think now. When I was 13, my 40 year old sister said to me, ‘Don’t worry about what people might think. You’ll be lucky if they think about you at all.’ I took that on board. I have more problems with my tactlessness.
I would dance with abandonment. I have had opportunities to do just that and held back at church during a prayer service and while walking a labyrinth when I felt my spirit wanted to dance not walk but I held back. So when given the opportunity to express and not perform, I hope I rise to the occasion without fear of how others perceive and without self-judgement. That would be freedom and gratefulness in action for me.
Spray paint positive encouraging messages against a cheerful Hippie-esque backdrop on 4×8 sheets of plywood and post them in the front yard!
Or maybe have a cutting flower garden and invite people, especially kids, to cut a free bouquet to give to someone they love.
Terrific. I’ve never thought of doing that.
Especially kids….they “see” with their hearts, as the essential is not visible to the eyes…(remembering the amazing Little Prince…)
Is that the Oscar Wilde one, or am I remembering the name wrong?
to hug every single sentient being. on earth and then some.
HUG!
Now that I am older I don’t care what others think. I talk to myself and sing out loud wherever I might be. My granddaughter and I play Elf in any store where it strikes us…”We are in a store and we are singing!” with great joy and laughter. My most outrageous expression of gratefulness would be that I am now not afraid to be me!
In the past, I cared what people might think. But nowadays, I try to allow myself feel and express my feelings.
Some situations I most outrageous expression of gratefulness:
I speak alone on the street, I sing my favorite song alone in the car, I look at the sky and smile, jumping to cross the street, I embrace someone (I love embrace old ladies). I bought raspberries and ate alone sitting on the floor. I went the mall without my shoes and had a lot of fun, observing the people's face lookin...

I am not yet an old lady, but I would happily hug, too! Did you see the guy who was doing the Free Hugs bit? It warmed my heart.
Yes, I saw the free hugs! Very nice idea!
Lovely response. I am an old lady and I would love one of your embraces <3
Feel embraced with my fraternal love dear Nancy
Dear Cintia

(thank you)
Singing on the streets with my guitar. Or turning my front lawn into a vegetable garden inviting people to pick fresh vegetables wheneverd they like.
I love that! I always had trouble when we were selling produce at market and seedlings in spring because I always wanted to give them away rather than charging!
Dancing and singing!
Like David danced before the Lord when the Ark was returned, if I am remembering the story right.
Yes Aine, he danced…without shame! That’s the good news!
Rush a news show, take the microphone n proclaim “stop letting the bad n the evil rule ur day. Live gratefully n claim ur power u already possess! Rise up 2gether n feel our collective goodness!!”
Dance in the street with joy and abandon!
Asking the forgiveness of someone who threatened me, grateful for the opportunity to create peace. What a world it would be. Some might find that outrageous.
fun question ????
It would have to do with jumping up and down and singing I imagine.
[edited out stuff that I don’t know enough about]
Why would I care what people might think when I express my gratefulness, no matter how robustly? I would be sharing the good news, a blessing and source of joy. It’s an invitation for those within earshot to be happy.
Yes Kevin I agree, I struggle to think why I would filter out or sensor my expression of gratefulness.
dancing in the street
Do it! It’s a great feeling. I sometimes skip dance when I listen to music on my headphones when walking, it creates many smiles! and whether they are with me or at me matters not.
you’re right Debra! I’ve had my dog Alfie with me now for two and a half years and he has taught me so much about barking and dancing for joy.
Have grand celebrations for everything! With lots of laughter and joy to go around.
