Social conformity? I would live within the direct and unimpeded connection with Creation, as in “what people might think” of as a wild animal. 0 Reply Trevor6 years agoTrevorNo idea. I would probably start handing out flyers and copies of certain sutras everywhere. Literally everywhere. But the world does not operate this way so this question is asking one to live in fantasy land here for a moment but I prefer to strive to live according to social propriety as Confucius expounded upon! 0 Reply elizabeth ward6 years agoelizabeth wardI don’t care what people think now. When I was 13, my 40 year old sister said to me, ‘Don’t worry about what people might think. You’ll be lucky if they think about you at all.’ I took that on board. I have more problems with my tactlessness. 6 Reply Toni Roberti6 years agoToni RobertiI would dance with abandonment. I have had opportunities to do just that and held back at church during a prayer service and while walking a labyrinth when I felt my spirit wanted to dance not walk but I held back. So when given the opportunity to express and not perform, I hope I rise to the occasion without fear of how others perceive and without self-judgement. That would be freedom and gratefulness in action for me. 4 Reply Aine6 years agoAineSpray paint positive encouraging messages against a cheerful Hippie-esque backdrop on 4×8 sheets of plywood and post them in the front yard! Or maybe have a cutting flower garden and invite people, especially kids, to cut a free bouquet to give to someone they love. 4 Reply elizabeth ward6 years agoelizabeth wardTerrific. I’ve never thought of doing that. 2 Reply Anna6 years agoAnnaEspecially kids….they “see” with their hearts, as the essential is not visible to the eyes…(remembering the amazing Little Prince…) 3 Reply Aine6 years agoAineIs that the Oscar Wilde one, or am I remembering the name wrong? 1 Reply nancempath6 years agonancempathto hug every single sentient being. on earth and then some. 🙂 4 Reply Aine6 years agoAineHUG! 2 Reply Nancy6 years agoNancyNow that I am older I don’t care what others think. I talk to myself and sing out loud wherever I might be. My granddaughter and I play Elf in any store where it strikes us…”We are in a store and we are singing!” with great joy and laughter. My most outrageous expression of gratefulness would be that I am now not afraid to be me! 4 Reply Cintia6 years agoCintiaIn the past, I cared what people might think. [edited out stuff that I don’t know enough about] 4 Reply Kevin6 years agoKevinWhy would I care what people might think when I express my gratefulness, no matter how robustly? I would be sharing the good news, a blessing and source of joy. It’s an invitation for those within earshot to be happy. 8 Reply Debra Maddex6 years agoDebra MaddexYes Kevin I agree, I struggle to think why I would filter out or sensor my expression of gratefulness. 3 Reply Eva Liu6 years agoEva Liudancing in the street 7 Reply Debra Maddex6 years agoDebra MaddexDo it!
