My 1,5 year old daughter, who wakes up every morning with a gorgeous smile and a contagious curiosity.
My cat has always been a great companion to me. He is able to sense when I am feeling stressed and gives me good loving. He is probably the sweetest cat I have ever known. Unfortunately, he cannot understand English. All I can do to show how much I love him is to care for him as best as I can and put aside some time each day I am at home to give him love and affection. Love you Hal!
My massage therapist. Glad to have found him. I haven’t had a massage in almost 8 years! I will let him know by sending him positive energy and blessings. I’ve already verbally expressed appreciation.
My Mother. I will let her know by sending her an ecard here.
A lot of people ‘make’ my day. My husband lately as I came down with something after my vacation. Now I am stuffed up and staying home to recover. He has been caring and attentive. While I think I am being appreciative I know that I was not brought up to be appreciative or had that modeled so I will be thinking of how to verbalize appreciation sincerely. “I was really good but now I am better thanks to you!!” That’s what I mean. Thanks Micheal! Makes for such a nice world.
I make it a practice to include everyone I speak with during the day in the “who has made my day” category. I let them know right then they are” making my day” with either those words or my smile and engagement. how are u today? “I was really good but now I’m even better thanks to you!!” . takes 5 seconds.
The man I share my life with. His live language and hobby is cooking. I deeply appreciate and thoroughly enjoy the meals he prepares.
My dear friend whom I could visit yesterday and who in a kind and heartfelt way sent a message that the beam of the light of God is in everything and everyone. Always. I am deeply grateful for this and just called her to say thank you so much for the lovely reminder.
my painting friend, who I call my “muse”
I will let her know again and again each time we do art together…she is incredibly talented and generous with her gift
I am a retired elementary school teacher. Yesterday, I went by school to drop off a few gifts for some special teacher friends. I saw several folks I had not seen in a while, and even met a few new folks. It did my heart good to be at school. I love it so. It did my heart good to reminisce, catch up, laugh, and feel purpose all around me. I will send follow up messages to let folks know how important that was to me. The hymn “All Is Well With My Soul” comes to mind.
Many people over as many days “make” my day actually. Some days it’s one of our grandchildren, or all of them too at other days. Other days my wife, Betty Ann, will make my day in the simplest of ways with loving gestures or actions. Even our dog, Gracie, will make my day, and often, especially when I pause to return her affection, remembering that she’s blind and that she still follows me all around the house and yard.

How do I let others know that they have made my day? By loving them in return, or, depending on the circumstances, by being fully present, making eye contact and being kind to those I meet.
