It would create peace where there was chaos.
Gratefulness would change the focus of anything to its true message of love.
One Love. Love is the Mother of the Universe. May all beings one day return to the Source of Love.
Gratefulness can transform people and living beings from the outside inward. Spreading like the candle, one person can be light for another without losing their flame. Living in the present opens the door for others to know another way to see. Humanity in action. Peace and serenity are attainable. Love and light
Light and love.
Gratefulness is a reminder of all that is gifted to us. Even ourselves. Gratefulness gives us a sense of being complete and whole. It takes our perception of inadequacy and insufficiency to completeness and sufficiency. Gratefulness makes our fear go away. Gratefulness gives us a sense of being in awe. Gratefulness makes our negative emotions also feel welcome.
Gratefulness has the wonderful ability to put light where there is darkness and joy where there is sadness and peace where there is conflict. Gratefulness, humility, compassion, mercy and joy are deeply related.
I see greatefulness as appreciation, of all including ourselves. It uplifts the giver and the receiver. I think of how one feels, for example, when our employer or our spouse shows appreciation, or better yet when we appreciate ourselves. Years ago I decided that if I didn't get praise, I would give it to mysel: "well done" I'd think, and it gradually changed everything. I can also feel the positive impact of my practice on this site and the connection found, since the beginning of the year, it'...

I can only assume it will do what it has already done for me. I feel more peaceful
What would gratefulness do? That is much like asking what would love do.
Gratefulness would be joyous and savor the moment.
Gratefulness would focus on what is beautiful, or comfortable, or delicious, or inspiring, or life affirming.
Gratefulness would make sorrow bearable.
Gratefulness could be the saving grace for all of us.
I will take a few moments now to ask God
and to ask myself for whatever help I might need
to live the precious moments of my life in gratefulness.
Yes Indeed !
And Gratefulness as an emanation becomes “Grace-full presence” when it returns to the sender .( and it always does return 10 fold ) .. and a “saving grace for all of us” because it IS a powerful method of saying… “grace” ( pray ).
Be Well Be Present

Beautiful reminder
Love everyone and find love in every moment of life, out of a desire to give that arises naturally from recognizing the beyond-value gifts that are here…
Gratefulness is mood booster. After two days of very short gratefulness practice, I feel better already about everything. Gratefulness pulls us out of the past and future and into the now. I am grateful for gratefulness…and this site. <3
My thoughts exactly.
Pausing into gratefulness halts the worry mind, if only for a moment. Enough to notice the red geraniums in clay pots, the robin in the birdbath, a sleeping dog, my legs stretched out on the chair as I type these words. To take a breath and actually feel it move in and out of the body. Thank you for bringing light to the world through this site. Thank you for the other sharings. Today I will practice enjoying. Thank you Viktor Frankel for your beautiful self.
I think gratefulness is as important as breathing. It enables a person to live fully and deeply.
Enjoy.
Enjoy the moment. Enjoy the peace, enjoy the noise. Enjoy existence, enjoy purpose. Enjoy the solitude, enjoy the companionship. Enjoy silence, enjoy cacophony.
What would gratefulness DO?
Enjoy.
What would gratefulness do?
Cause “Great-full-ness” ( just another way of spelling it )
Yes!!!
Everything can be taken…but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

The Summer Solstice occurred last night between 11 p.m. and 12 a.m. in my time zone. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the current year but if one is living in the NOW, time becomes a “moment to moment” experience in which we make choices that either enrich or impede life. Today’s quote reminds me that I’m free to choose my attitude at any given moment. I share a poem I wrote in 2014 that reminds me that my choices matter and that to choose an attitude of gratitude not only impacts my life but contributes an energy to the world and the Universe that is life giving.
God is Being
God, You are not a Being. You are Being it’s self,
ever faithful, ever present, in joy and in sorrow.
Your vulnerability humbles me beyond belief
and at times, leaves me lonely and afraid.
You see, I’ve come to know my choices matter.
They either nurture or destroy the gift of life.
For You have made us all creator
and I don’t want that responsibility!
Why don’t You change the game?
Just fix everything?
“It’s not possible,” You say.
“I have to change. It’s called free will,” You say.
“Become the peace I seek.”
“Share it with all I meet.”
“It’s an inside job,” You say,
“That begins and ends with me.”
So beautiful and heart warming.
“inside job that begins and ends with me”, that, for me , reminds me of the importance of gratitude and what gratefulness would do,
thanks for sharing your poem, Carol
it has helped me immensely in my personal life and in my vocation. waking up, continuing thru the day, and then in my ending of the day with gratefulness keeps me seeing situations/moments/people in the best possible light. gratefulness doesn’t equal soft…it means aware and wanting to serve.
Change the world for the better, maybe end Capitalism, and take one out of this desire realm possibly to realms of unsurpassed bliss with no desire. It is the key to leaving this world of suffering for places beyond what an earthly mind can fathom exist.
It seems to me that if the seeds of gratefulness are at the root of any endeavor then the possibilities are boundless and endless, period.
Gratefulness…
Turns on the light.
Opens the door.
Helps me breathe.
Gives me perspective.
Reminds me of the treasures in my life.
Gives me another chance.
Shows me love.
Beautiful, Always Learning, just beautiful.
