Gratefulness
We did not ask for this room or this music; we were invited in. Therefore, because the dark surrounds us, let us turn our faces toward the light. Let us endure hardship to be grateful for plenty…We did not ask for this room or this music. But because we are here, let us dance.

Perfect dark author to remind us to dance no matter what! To remember that we may not always be able to choose the situation but we can always chose an attitude of gratitude and dance. When we are not scared about the future or the past we can find the good in the moment. Love and forgiveness always makes me dance.
Longing, felt fully, carries us to belonging.TARA BRACHI will use Tara’s quote to reinforce the cherished longing we all have for belonging. I cherish the culture heritage we all have in our hearts for love and connection. We long to belong and when we plant these seeds of open connection to our brothers we are all one. I cherish an attitude of gratitude, forgiveness and loving compassion. Seeing the goodness and and planting seeds of love is our best tradition.
We could say that life is all about waiting. Waiting for the first cup of coffee in the morning, waiting for the flight, waiting for Christmas, waiting for the love of our lives or the right job, waiting for the baby! The list is endless, so I believe waiting is an art. Having gratefulness while we move about in our daily lives is the key to an open heart. They saying is: Patience is a virtue. I wonder why? Waiting for the first cup of coffee in the morning, waiting for the flight, waiting for Christmas, waiting for the love of our lives or the right job, waiting for the baby! The list is endless, so I believe waiting is an art. Having gratefulness while we move about in our daily lives is the key to an open heart. They saying is: Patience is a virtue. I wonder why? Patience is a virtue because if we are not patient, we are allowing ourselves to controlled by external influences and boy there are a ton of them! our minds can be easily agitated and distracted into the negative thinking mode. We must not wait to be grateful for this precious life we have! Like the thought of the day says embarace chaos! “Whenever there is chaos, it creates wonderful thinking. I consider chaos a gift.”

I no longer need to fall into bad habits of reactivity. Just because someone has a bad day or wants to shoot arrows doesn’t mean I need to allow them to penetrate into me and come back and shoot more. I no longer need to be a sponge for politics, anger, unhappiness, others negative viewpoints or blame games. I am practicing my mind muscles and using the kid saying: i’m rubber you’re glue what you say bounces off of me and sticks to you! In other words, I’m practic...

I no longer need to be a sponge for politics, anger, unhappiness, others negative viewpoints or blame games. I am practicing my mind muscles and using the kid saying: i’m rubber you’re glue what you say bounces off of me and sticks to you! In other words, I’m practicing letting it go and choosing an attitude of gratitude in each moment.
It’s a beautiful day. It’s cold and clear. I’m grateful for a sunny day !
Even Socrates, who lived a very frugal and simple life, loved to go to the market. When his students asked about this, he replied, “I love to go and see all the things I am happy without.”

JACK KORNFIELD I just recently did a course with Jack Kornfield and Tarra it was very meaningful. I found useful ways to develop my practice. To answer the question I would say the old saying: Home is where the heart is. But I would add to that by saying I have changed deeply in many ways these past years. Like today’s quote touches on, I feel that happiness to me has much more to do with an open heart ready to give. I’m most at home in myself when I’m not clinging to the past or worried about the future. Home is this present moment and an attitude of gratitude. To be able to be like Socrates and have wisdom of the heart is Home. I’m grateful for coming home again and again by letting go over and over.
Debra I took the long way to what you said! Thanks! Live joyfully in the present moment.
Amor , That’s because you use right seeing and right mindedness. Thank you ! Beautiful!
Haha, sorry I’m laughing about the President nobody wants! Thanks Kevin!
Malag, Letting go sounds exactly like what many of us want to do here. The clouds are there in our mind and we can simply chose to notice them but not attack or push away. They just are there and the pass on by like clouds do. Thanks for sharing.
Ose, Cleaning out the “ closets “ is a wonderful way to start letting go and feeling less held back. Happy for you.
Ed , Laziness can and will prohibit our practice. It’s the sloth mind that we must keep awake! Keeping joyfulness in our practice is essential and helps the sloth mind. An antidote to this type of mind is doing visualizations while breathing. Try visualizing or imagine as you exhale the dullness in the fogginess of you mind leaving you in the form of smoke which vanishes completely. An antidote to this type of mind is doing visualizations while breathing. Try visualizing or imagine as you exhale the dullness in the fogginess of you mind leaving you in the form of smoke which vanishes completely. As you inhale think of the breath as the nature of light and this light feels your entire body and mind. If you do this for several minutes of Canda spell doll nurse. Also, not eating heavy foods also helps as well as splashing cold water on your face before you either pray or meditate. Hope it helps!
John, That’s an amazing accomplishment and a recognition for truly letting go. I have found that I no longer enjoy drinking either. I didn’t have a “problem” with it , but I agree that it’s a way of distraction and numbing the pain. When in all actuality it makes it worse! Thanks for sharing . Best to you!
Here here Aine! Lettting go is what it’s all about! What a beautiful practice. Thank you!
Sheila, your response resonates with me as well. I always want to be a people pleaser. That’s why I just shared my thoughts about what it’s like to be a sponge. Sometimes we just think that we can mop up everybody’s feelings by being a sponge. Unfortunately, it’s actually not that simple. And when that Sponge becomes overly filled then what are we left with? I am also like you practicing being able to say no. And also be able to set boundaries for myself. Good for you !
Hot sauce, Nelson Mandela was not an arrogant man. He had many insightful viewpoints about how to practice nonviolence. And I agree with you Nelson Mandela also said that we should drop pate in order to not be living in a personal prison. When he left present himself after 27 years he knew that he had to leave all the negative hatred behind otherwise he would continue to live in that prison. Thank you for sharing this I agree with you 100%.
Thank you Ed. Jesus the Buddha and any of the spiritual and or holy beings that helps us each and every day to practice opening and hearts. I rejoice in all holy and ordinary beings.
Ose, What a wise woman. Reflecting deeply within and not searching outside for a something that the ego thought was lost. Beautiful and wise. Thank you for sharing Ose.
Kathleen , Letting go over and over again of the mind that clings. Thank you for this .
Ed , Yes Home isn’t the place we never left . The oneness of beingness. Our practice to remember we are home over and over. The ego wants us to believe in separation. But as you wrote wise socrates knew that the only true one home is the original source of one’s essence. We never left there was never separation. Beautiful and I am truly grateful.
