By taking the time to pause & reflect on each gift as it is given & then pausing again During my busiest moments to willfully Recall them.
Remember to stop and pause. ????????…
It’s a practice for me and means slowing down even for a moment to feel and consciously acknowledge all that supports me. I recently had a bad fall and hurt my arm enough that it’s going to be awhile for it (me) to recover. In that painful and sudden situation – one moment up and the next moment down literally – I became genuinely grateful for so many things. As soon as I fell and thought “there is no one here”, people appeared and did help me. Bless their kind hearts! That fall...
That fall reminded me of the importance of pausing, slowing even in the midst of busy-ness, breathing, creating space with a deep exhalation, and feeling where I am right that moment. That is when gratefulness rises naturally for me.
I have recommitted myself to practicing an attitude of gratitude recently, and that commitment was born of crisis, fear and pain. Today, I can give thanks each time I get back in the car between clients, for the fact that I HAVE clients to work with!
Each person who has responded thus far, and those who have yet to write will contribute to my re-membering as I go about my day. Now as I read and just before sleeping for the night and throughout the day as I recall who has written what.
Re-membering.
Thank you for the reminder by asking this question. I may not be able to remember it at the busiest moments but I can set an intention to have awareness. Then it is possible this will incline my mind in that direction. Moments of awareness build closer together instead of being in an habitual mode. That is what I work on every day in some way or other. I love how this site keeps me in tune with these thoughts.
I am taking a breathe and savouring just 5 minutes of silence, after my busy morning, dealing with 3 inspections in places where people make foods for children.
I am am now in my car, and outside a storm is ending. I am in a parking, waiting the sun, slowly coming out from a cloud.
I am going to my office.
Wonderful silence! Sometimes my car is like a little home.
My energies are now in my breathe. Ready to start again.
Thank you to you all here!
to remember we are all in this together, we all need each other…….gratefulness pieces us all together……
Awareness,
the busiest times of each day are especially when gifts of the day are in action. love, connection, forward movement, thoughtfulness, breathing, positive thinking. the act of and spirit of gratefulness paves the way for any and all busiest moments to be fruitful. I try and teach young people that hard work and stress need not go hand in hand.
Beautiful Michael. I am curious, how you teach young people to separate hard work and stress. Is that possible? Warmly, KC
Having retired some 20 months ago I now get to choose what constitutes my busiest moments, so that is the first gift. Presently while I recover from surgery my movements are somewhat limited as I heal. Here in the Northeast US, it’s a rainy, cold and blustery day. As I made my way out to fetch the morning news paper I thought to myself this is all also a wonderful day to stay inside. That is the second gift and the day is still young.

Stop, Look and Go!
STOP- and become awake, alert and aware now!
LOOK- at what at life! What opportunities are there? Pay attention- awake, alert and Awareness are all part of saying yes to life’s love and truth.
GO – for what life is serving you in a grateful way!
Embrace the moment and go out of your comfort zone to follow the truth.
So today, when I’m busy, I will do what Ose also says by using my breath I will become aware of the universe.
Thank you Brother David!
by pausing, taking one conscious deep breath and then another, giving space for silence for just one moment and then be free to follow what life asks from me, may it be being busy or what else is required. The space opens for the gifts of this day, the fresh morning, the wonderful first cup of coffee, birds singing, of being alive and being joyfully together with others. To look at all people, all living beings and all circumstances with a tender heart.
Thank you dear Ose. Such a beautiful reminder. Warmly, KC
Beautifully stated, Ose!
In the first hours following my surgery using my breath, being aware of my breath, and calling on its energy was a real source of both bringing comfort and calm.
Good morning Ose,
I appreciate your thoughtful response.
What a really beautiful way to allow the wonder of life to unfold.
Stop and breath and be grateful for our gifts.
Thank you, dear Antoinette, and have a good day, too!
