The question of the day here contains the words “just world”. That is a very open choice of words! It can just about mean anything! But reading it my contribution to “just” to-day was to listen and transcribe a one hour conversation between Chopra and Tolle on the current Psyche / Collective Consciousness / of the Western world. A lot is being said about certain leaders in Social media / media / religious leaders / Academics etc BUT very little is said by them about what the real source of the problem is. Both speaks to-day acknowledge that the source is not external …it is internal, meaning in the psyche of the populations. ……..here are brief quotes from both Chopra and Tolle Chopra: Ultimately the present/past political leaders are not the problem, they are but localized expressions of the Turbulence in the collective consciousness and divided minds of the population. The ideal solution…as difficult as it may seem …will be a change of Consciousness at a massive scale leading into an evolutionary direction of collective evolution…..stating with Stop ‘taking sides’ altogether. Practice and rest in “Awareness” ( this requires good skills of Observation, Concentration, Visualization, Introspection, and finally Meditation. ) Introspection is the key / active / action. Be the Change your heart (not your egoism) wants to see in the world…be it thought / action / social interactions / the service we put out into the world. …Gandi Tolle: Quoting a French proverb “Every country has the Government it deserves”. Which means, whatever you experience externally as a Political / Social / situation in your Country …it is an externalization of the collective consciousness in that country. So, therefore the problem is never “out there”, whatever conflict is happening “out there “ experienced in the external world is a reflection of the level of unconsciousness in the human psyche of its citizens. And that place (psyche) is the only place we can go to development of awareness and rise beyond the conflict. The is no Ultimate solution in the external world. Hard work and education are the keys to learning the tools for ethics, leadership, and contribution to society. My current role is that of a student, so that is the duty I must try my best at right now. Today, I set my intention to study as hard as possible. 1 Reply Aine7 years agoAineBy not turning aside from hearing a hard truth about what needs healing in our world. I am thinking very much of racism in the USA. It is human nature to want to avoid that which is painful, but we have to be willing to listen to the other, especially when it is difficult, in order to find where we can meet and heal together. 4 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelSpread the gospel of gratitude and empathy. Educate young white people/students re the system of racism in America n how we need to fix it. Educate people in America re the system of capitalism n how we need to use the tenets of grateful thinking/empathy/collective good in constructing a new and just economic system 1 Reply Gina7 years agoGinaby being a just being myself, as much as is possible…… 2 Reply Lunamagicae7 years agoLunamagicaeby being aware and open minded. By acknowledging what is really NEEDED as opposed to superficially WANTED. For all of us. 4 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelBy stepping away from the many confrontational attitudes that would put us on this side or that. The Budddhist “Verses on the Faith Mind” says , “Don’t seek the truth, simply cherish no opinions.” A worthy effort, it seems. 4 Reply Antoinette7 years agoAntoinetteI wanted to share this with you all. In the name of the sun and its mirrors and the day that embraces it and the cloud veils drawn over it and the uttermost night and the male and the female and the plants bursting with seed and the crowning seasons of the firefly and the apple, I will honor all life —wherever and in whatever form it may dwell—on Earth my home, and in the mansions of the stars.[1] Read More4 Reply Antoinette7 years agoAntoinetteI agree with Always Learning. To contribute to a more just world we must have an open heart and be able to have loving kindness for ourselves. We must be awake to recognize thoughts of anger or hate. We must be awake to question our thoughts of separateness or treating people as the “other”. Our thoughts contribute to our actions or in action and therefore it’s necessary for us to pay attention to where our minds are. Mind training is essential for the contribution of a just world. I can contribute to a more just world when I am awake and present with myself. By radiating love and compassion inside out I am contributing to making peace around me. When our thoughts are constantly on high speed we are caught up in our own storylines. This sort of turbulence creates an unbalanced mind. My contribution then needs to be to focuse on the middle path of balance between love and truth. Always Being open to the universe. Ask myself where is my mind? Acknowledge feelings whatever they are and then ask is this really true or is this a storyline my mind keeps replaying? Be awake, Be present, radiate love and truth. It might be a small thing that I can do overall, but it is at least something, to which others will do the same to make a deeper and wider impact, hopefully. That said, I usually feel like I don’t do enough, or can’t do what I would like to do to alleviate suffering when I am made aware of it. ... How much of my “wishing” is just an excuse for not taking action, or represents honest limitations, is something I think about often. – Kevin Read More4 Reply Antoinette7 years agoAntoinetteCouldn’t agree more Kevin! I often think similarly. I hope we do what we can and serve when we are able. I look up to those who give their whole lives in selfless service. These every-day people just do it without fanfare or media attention over and over again. 1 Reply Aine7 years agoAineThere is a group here called ACT (Answering the Call Together) who do just that. They loaded up and headed off to Houston after putting out a call for folks to bring donations. It was heartwarming, actually. Our area is very dependent on construction now, so thankfully, there are many who answer that call, with the help of their town behind them.
