    Flying on an airplane, reading a good book, being in nature’s company, studying world spirituality, praying to God, being with my friends, running, and seeing the beauty and mystery all around me all make my heart sing.

    Of course I understand and respect those who find it hard to think about singing hearts today, especially if they lost a loved one. Just thinking about where I was on that terrible day makes my heart ache. Our whole nation mourns – again. But this is a lovely question and I will answer it with what came to mind immediately: happy animals! No one experiences joy more purely.     Love makes my heart sing!
    To tie this into yesterday’s question about mindfulness i have to say that mindfulness helps to come back home to love which is what makes my heart sing.
    Hellen Keller is right in saying we can look for love at every moment because it’s there all around us. Let’s just remember to be awake for it.

    Any effort which attempts to Awaken Humankind to their True potential as Gods. As it is stated in [Psalm 82:6] "You are gods. all all of you are sons of the Most High."

    It is about time humanity starts to understand those words.

    Any genuine effort, it may be as simple as holding open a physical door for another person or more ambitious ...such as offering programs with the intention of open "Other" doorway and clearing "fixed mind" ideas which block the Light ...

    What makes my heart sing?

    Like Kevin, my thoughts on this anniversary are somber and yet what I imagine I hear from within, though faintly, is still a ‘song’. No, not at all lilting or joyful today. More like the slow tolling of great bells and echoing chants weaving in and out — in all languages — full of yearning for peace to prevail on earth.

    Moments of Grace, when ‘wordly’ concerns are forgotten. In those times, a ray of sunshine, the sound of the breeze, the light playing on the leaves of the trees, the cool air of a winter morning. Simplicity presents its own song our hearts know instinctively and can sing along with.

    Many things make my heart sing. But today, on the anniversary of 9/11 in the US, my heart pauses in prayer for all the lives lost on that day, whose hearts didn’t sing, but stopped beating forever.

        Yes indeed, Pilgrim. Our oldest daughter left on a plane out of Logan Airport headed to LA with work one hour before one of the planes left that would fly into the Twin Towers.
