I am grateful for the little house someone built for them to have some shelter from cold wind and snow, especially now since it became really cold outside. They don´t fly off any more when I pass like they did in the beginning, this I feel is really a gift. It is a joyful encounter every morning. 2 Reply Sonia7 years agoSoniaI am grateful for the cup of tea and the lentil soup I had for lunch. 3 Reply Patito7 years agoPatitoEl agua fresquita, el viento en verano 2 Reply Cynthia Ann Leighton7 years agoCynthia Ann LeightonBeing able to gather yourself up and begin a new day. So maybe when I do get enough and wake up before the alarm, it’d be good to be grateful. 3 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmOoh yes! 1 Reply Elizabeth M Jones7 years agoElizabeth M JonesI am so grateful that I can walk, that I can see, that I can hear, that I can talk, that my balance is right, that my heart is pumping that I can breathe. I am so grateful that I have a job and that I can pay for a little apartment with a warm, clean bed to sleep in every night. How good is GOD! God is good, all the time, all the time, all the time! 1 Reply Sonia7 years agoSoniaI just came home from vacation and visiting my home town and family and it might sound silly but I am so grateful for my life. For years, I believed in counting my blessings, trying not to take anything for granted. Recently, I have found that this led me to a sort of scarcity thinking, however. In effect, saying, “I should be glad to have food because not everybody does,” is a form of comparison, taking pleasure in having something that others do not, defining yourself by what you have or don’t have. I worried that someday I would not have these basic necessities and felt guilty that–largely through the luck of my circumstances–I had something essential that others lack. Thinking about what I am truly grateful for, the first thing that comes to mind is coffee (I am drinking some right now). I absolutely love the taste of coffee, particularly lighter roasts with savory flavors. With about 20 exceptions, I suspect I have had at least one cup of coffee everyday of my adult life. People have been drinking coffee for centuries. It is available at gas stations. It seems to be the one thing that every office provides for employees. People drink it when they feel terrible in the hopes that it will revive them. As pervasive and degraded as it is, I am truly grateful for coffee. As the seasons change, the sunsets in my area are becoming more colorful, and the other evening, I came into my living room to find it filled with orange and purple light. I acknowledge how privileged I am to even have a house about which to feel apprehensive, but I am blessed to have beautiful moments like that. 2 Reply Cintia7 years agoCintiaI’m truly grateful for drinkable water, for food on the table everyday. The “you” he is referring to has been identified by names such as …Source, Holy Spirit, Logos, Archangels, Eternal Now, …and in the current popular spiritual name such as, stillness, peace, formless, bliss…..etc I do sincerely try to think of this “you” or “source” often, but, compared to what the great Masters have conveyed I rarely have enough ability to know them as they should be known, but I can indeed still be very Grateful,, even for the ( and here is the “Catch” ) Not knowing!
