And then there is the mystery of it how we never have to tell the grass to grow. It just does that by itself. 1 Reply Doreen Nixon6 years agoDoreen NixonNature offers me the serenity and peace of mind to become still within. It is my favorite form of meditation. I am grateful that there is nature available to remind us of who we are. 1 Reply Ariadne Miranda6 years agoAriadne MirandaNature are my cats and my back yard. I get inspiration and peace from both. 1 Reply Pav6 years agoPavNature connects me deeply to the cycle of life. 2 Reply Javier Visionquest6 years agoJavier VisionquestPipes in the house are frozen. . . Nature shows me my resilience, sometimes. Nature shows me my shortcomings, other times. Always calls me to become more 1 Reply Heather6 years agoHeatherJavier sorry to hear about this. I have recently been given a place in which frozen pipes are an on going concern. You are right nature does require us to be resilient Good luck 0 Reply Nancy Jean6 years agoNancy JeanI believe in Nature RX. Whether I am suffering physically, emotionally, or spiritually, a walk in the woods, a hike in the mountains, swimming in a lake or the ocean — all bring great healing energy. 2 Reply Paula Koppel6 years agoPaula KoppelI opened my eyes this morning to discover a fresh coating of snow over everything. The beauty of the natural world surprises me daily and opens my heart. 1 Reply John Turner6 years agoJohn TurnerAbove all else, it offers me a sense of continued humility. No matter the scenery–mountains, beaches, woods, or tall buildings–I’m reminded of the power of God, and that I’m in no way the center of the universe. 3 Reply Bree6 years agoBreeNature blesses my life no matter what scenery when looked at in the right perspective. Nature is the very reason of being. The sunlight feeds our skin, vegetables from the ground nurture our bodies, water from nature hydrates us, warm air provides a feeling of comfort, while the cooler air provides me with a sense of calmness and relaxation. 2 Reply Michael6 years agoMichaelwith capitalism in place, less and less each day. from that standpoint, nature offers me another reason to organize collectively and take actions that will benefit our children, grandchildren, and beyond. The nature we are blessed with now gives me life and energy. It gives me real faith that we will bring back as much as possible of the nature we have lost. 2 Reply Ash6 years agoAshPeace, serenity, and security. The trees show me balance and endurance and remind me to breathe. I am often overwhelmed by the beauty and sense of peace. I feel renewed each and every time. 3 Reply Michael6 years agoMichaelNature is us — you, them, me, and all the rest. We are one, we just seem to resist the fact. I don’t want to shovel it later but I am grateful to watch this peaceful scene. 2 Reply Carol6 years agoCarolI take a walk every day and yesterday I was greeted by a flock of birds flying in formation and I wanted to join them. They spoke wisdom and the importance of community to me. Just breathing the morning air on my walks refreshes my soul and makes the Spirit of Life, the spirit of wholeness real to me. I love today's quote: "A heartfelt smile gives warmth enough for three winters." Greeting others I meet on my walks always brings me joy and makes me smile for we, too, are part of nature. My atheist uncle who is 94 says that if their is a God, it is nature. Br. David compares our senses to the sense of spirit. I know this is tooting my own horm but I would love for you all to read the story I submitted “Through Santa’s Eyes” which is located on the features/blog page. My Santa experience, his take on human nature, has provided me. many a heartfelt smile over the years., Blessings, Carol Read More1 Reply Springerlady6 years agoSpringerladyThe freezing temps and snow piled high are reminders to count my blessings that NATURE is outside for us today… and to offer prayers of protection and safety for those having to negotiate their way through it today. I love to be outside to enjoy nature in all her glory – but not when it is dangerous…. The blessing is to view and not experience it today! 1 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
