The first promise I make to my self every day.
“To serve at all times and all place absolute Being-ness to whom I wholeheartedly belong”.
Connectedness with other human beings.

Happiness and Peace
In the words of the Dalai Lama – what matters is very simple, what matters is kindness.
love and social justice
I was asked if I saw Br. David on Oprah last Sunday by Sparrow. I tried to reply directly to Sparrow but the computer kept freezing up so I shall put out a general message to all that I did watch the interview and it was wonderful and full of wisdom. Hope all of you saw it. If you did not, I’m sure you can find it on this website. Sincerely, Carol
I noticed that something happened when I tried to post a link,
but could not go back in and edit,
dear Carol…
I am happy that you found the interview
and got something out of it.
Your previous post made me think you’d like it.
Living in this precious human existence means that suffering is part of the package.
What matters right now is being healthy. Without my health it’s very challenging to live and love
. I’m grateful for November 1st for many reasons, and one is it’s the start of a new month with wide open possibilities!
What matters when we have only suffering or a lot of it?
Hope and the strength to be able to cultivate a joyful life.

Thank you Antoinette, you are so wise. If there was more people like you in the world it would be a much better place.
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
A lot of people, a lot of creatures are my treasure.
I can’t say who is “the most”, immediatly I find myself thinking of another “most”, then another and so on…
Love and Compassion to all beings. Knowledge that we are all connected. That we continue to witness the good that surrounds us.
*Relationships (with God, my wife, and my family)
*My sobriety
*Being a good writer
These are immutable priorities: my family and friends including our pets; all of our physical, mental and spiritual health; our home, garden and financial security; spreading love and kindness; saving our Mother Earth.
Fulfilling my dharma is ultimately the one priority that matters to me. Nothing else really matters except fulfilling the mission I came to fulfill. Anything else is a waste of time.
What matters most to me is the grace to always be willing to trust Life, to be open to Life, to engage the mystery that it is moment to moment no matter what is going on inside and/or outside. Blessings always and all ways, Carol.
Dear Carol . . .
Did you see Oprah’s talk with Brother David?
He talks about trusting Life and Gratitude . . .
Living and loving the best I can right now.
Love Deb!
Be here now! Thank you!
Getting the hell out of Saṃsāra.
I mean I could speak of other things but that would deepen my bonds keeping me in this world.
Sorry for going there.
Ok I will tone it down a notch, my hopes and dreams while still here matter very much to me.
Why be sorry for wanting to be out of samsara? If we practice bodichitta we have nothing to be sorry about. We wish for all beings everywhere to be free from suffering and what a beautiful meaningful way to spend our precious human life.
My family, my spiritual practice, my friends, my health, our democracy, conservation of energy, social justice
My faith and my family.
When asked a ‘most’ question,
I am frequently a little irritated,
as the answer is more complex than a simple ‘most’ . . .
there are so many layers to what is important to me,
and each has value and importance in its own way.
I don’t love one of my cats more than the others,
I love them in different ways . . .
I don’t love sunny days better than rainy ones–
I love them both . . .
but if I have to peel off all of the layers,
the nugget at the center
would be ‘Love’.
So true the grasping mind wants to judge and find value in everything.
When we let go we know so much more and it’s amazing to surrender to what is truly important.
I am ashamed to attempt to answer after reading this. I don’t mean to attempt flattery or trespass with enticing speech, but A+
