Morning is the most peaceful. I have a cuppa tea and toast with my partner and we discuss any number of topics. Sometimes we don’t speak. It is the most peaceful time of the day for me.
Oh, man! That’s a tough one! I have a hard time deciding between early in the morning when the sun is out and the birds are chirping (or the snow is glistening during winter) or late at night away from cities when the stars are shining and everything, except maybe some crickets, is very quiet. These times remind me of the awe and wonder that exists in nature and in the universe.
My yoga time in the morning and my bath time at night. Both remind me to breathe and both “reset” me. I think I might try the “tea times” shared below. Can’t have enough peaceful times!
Dawn and dusk. Light comes slowly and ebbs slowly. Life begins life ends. Breathe in breathe out. It’s all part of the rhythm of life.
Dawn. The sky is always interesting. The day is still a promise. I am rested and refreshed. The cats run “happy circles” along the rafters and tne burros and dog trumpet their morning greetings to each other.
4:00am
The early morning before school when I sit in my class and I prepare for the day. When I visit the Sacre Seour in Paris and leave a prayer request, when I answer the daily question and I write in my private journal about something that I am grateful for.
The wee hours of the morning…3-4 AM. It is quiet …the world is at rest and the energies are not so chaotic. I love the peace and serenity and the promise of the day to come.
The three thresholds of my day are sweet and peaceful: morning tea in bed (brought by my husband), afternoon tea after the day’s activities, bedtime with a book (no tea).
“Most peaceful”….. I have many peaceful moments in my day and I enjoy and appreciate each one. Knowing they are impermanent I attempt to not cling to them and realizing the lack of peace many have, I attempt to share them.
I agree with those who pick the early morning. It is not only a time of energy and potential but a time when the mind can be as silent as it is possible for it to be.Thoughts have not yet “ramped up.”
Early morning as the sun comes up. The world is quiet and you can relax before the rest of the world wakes up.
What time of day is most peaceful for me? Why?
As some here like to say, "thats easy" and in this case is is easy for me too!
Re" "Why?". Well it is because that "time of day" is anytime I pause to remember and say and apply the value behind this profound prayer.
Breathe deeply. Feel the beats of your material heart. Your heart is the Holy of Holies ... keep Him there. As a present-day personality pray,
"0 God, my Father, make my footsteps upon life's path as light as they may be. ...

Dear Ed,
What do you mean by
“As a present-day personality pray,”?

Thank you. I’m glad i asked and received such a detailed response.
Most times it is early morning when I get up. Soon I will hear the birds and it will be heavenly. I usually meditate in the morning which makes it extra quiet.. However, if it is winter I sometimes worry about the roads outside for driving. So I will add another time and that is when my work is done for the day, I have the house to myself and I have the company of my dog and there’s nothing to do and nowhere to go.
I love early morning for its sense of hope and possibility.
I love bedtime for its release of the day, whether good or challenging.
I love moments when all the indoor animals are sacked out around me in all-needs-filled slumber, oblivious to all but the sensual experience of a good nap.
And I love the moment when I hear my husband pull in the driveway.
The very early and the very late – both offer unique moments for reflection.
mornings in-between patients. I get to sit or stand and gaze out my window while I reflect on the time that just went by in the shared experience of giving and receiving.
It is 3:30 a.m. because the world is quiet and I have it all to myself. And, although I am retired now I still get up at this time because it is so nice. I wish for me it could be 3:30 a.m. all day long.
Right now…6am. No one is home except me and the puppy, who is taking a morning snooze. It’s quiet. The sun will be up shortly, and I’m filled with hope for the coming day.
The early hours, just after waking (usually before dawn). It feels like a fresh start, an opening to new perspective, inklings of possibility. From Rumi:
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the door sill
Where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.
Ah….Rumi! Thank you, Pilgrim!
