Becca6 years agoBeccawhen I’m playing my guitar beside the little girl I do music therapy with, and she’s jamming out and I’m jamming out…it’s total bliss. I feel totally connected to her and something bigger than myself. 1 Reply KC6 years agoKCBeing with dear friends in a warm condo overlooking a still, cold, snowy ski hill on Winter Solstice. With lights low, we passed around and read Coyote Solstice, a Thomas King picture story about a small gathering of animals and a young girl deep in the forest, sharing an unexpected encounter and a simple meal… 0 Reply Springerlady6 years agoSpringerladyWalking through the muddy waters on Holy Island…. everything dropped away…. 0 Reply Eva Liu6 years agoEva Liuyes. when I lived in a high rise in Shanghai once. every afternoon around 10am and 4 pm, a man would climb up to his rooftop in the hutongs (traditional houses) to let his pigeons out. it was his rest and it became my rest.. watching the pigeons fly in figure 8s. 0 Reply Christina6 years agoChristinaI think I’ve felt – once – “the peace which surpasses all understanding.” I knew it was that. I can’t describe it; it indeed “surpasses understanding” and description. Suffice to have felt it? 1 Reply Palm6 years agoPalmI am feeling serenity more and more often in my daily life, in spite of the ups and downs, something new for me, I used to think anxiety was the normality. I can only guess it’s thanks to the practice of gratitude and meditation 2 Reply Sylvie6 years agoSylvieClimbing up a mountain in the alps with my 2 dogs then, I reached the summit, nobody else around, a spectacular view, and suddenly there was a feeling of no past, no future, no “I”, just being connected with erverything and deep gratitude. 4 Reply Nancy6 years agoNancyI have never been to the Alps but I know the feeling you express when reaching the summit when hiking up a mountain. For me it makes all my earthly problems so small and insignificant. It brings into focus what really matters ❤️ 1 Reply Anna6 years agoAnnaI Love the Alps! 1 Reply Bill R6 years agoBill RToday…..even in the midst of reconfiguring the tv/stereo (what a mess) my Golden Retriever laid down next to me and we had that moment of nonverbal communication of mutual appreciation. 4 Reply elizabeth ward6 years agoelizabeth wardYes, but describing it is another matter. I felt a sense of oneness that I wanted to hold on to. But I couldn’t. It is like watching a sunset. Look away and the colours fade leaving grey clouds. 1 Reply Carol6 years agoCarolWalking through the ancient forests of the Upper Peninsula has always been a serene experience for me. Deep in the woods there are only the sounds of nature – and I also realize that I am walking on land that has probably not been changed for hundreds, if not thousands, of years – long before the U.S. became a country. I am walking on land that rightfully belongs to the Native Americans, and I feel the connection with these true forebears deeply. 3 Reply Aria_Cardona016 years agoAria_Cardona01I remember feeling serenity when I went up to the mountains, the fresh air and the smell of pine trees, the small coffee shops and the sound of birds, the light coming through the leaves on the trees. It was relaxing and it was really nice. 1 Reply kathleen6 years agokathleenI felt serene after my first son was born. It felt different. I felt completely full with Spirit or a joy that seemed out of this world. That moment seemed to belong to my soul. 4 Reply elizabeth ward6 years agoelizabeth wardI felt serene when I read your words and a great reverence for life. 1 Reply Val DeBruno6 years agoVal DeBrunoLast year, I went to Bermuda for my birthday. Each moment, I was able to spend looking out on the horizon felt like a serene moment I’d never be able to get back. 1 Reply Melissa6 years agoMelissaAlways at the gulf or the shore, the water coming in off the waves. 0 Reply GT6 years agoGTI felt serene when I gazed at the shoreline from Kualoa Ranch on Oahu. The land and the ocean were vast in comparison to me. 0 Reply Michael6 years agoMichaelserenity...hmmmmm serenity for me is "in the zone" like at my calmest yet doing something/performing an action. I plan to answer question, but not participate in gratitude lounge. 😉 0 Reply Ose6 years agoOseOh, I thought we could share there! I just decided to be present more often in that space, where there is more room for exchange of our personal experiences and ideas. But anyway, so nice to see you here again! 0 Reply Debbie D6 years agoDebbie DYes, Ose,I think the Gratitude Lounge is a place where more info and personal exchange takes place. You are right. I just prefer to answer question. I may write onetime in Gratitude Lounge for an update of what’s happening in my life. But as a rule, I prefer to simply answer Daily Question, just a personal choice. You can ask others if it is still unclear. 🙂 0 Reply Anna6 years agoAnna❤????????????????!!!! 1 Reply Debbie D6 years agoDebbie DThanks Anna. You have kind words for everyone ❤️❤️❤️ (and now I know where to find my emojis for hearts :)) 1 Reply Trevor6 years agoTrevorRight now. I feel light and full of it. Full of light I mean, and I also feel light in my body. Light as in energy is flowing freely and nothing is weighing it down that should not be for the most part. 1 Reply Barbara Morris6 years agoBarbara MorrisI often take breaks throughout my week to commune with nature…hike in the woods, sit by the ocean, have “coffee with the birds” as my husband and I call it. But the most serene I ever felt was holding my babies while they slept…I did nothing else but hold them, feel their miraculous tiny bodies breathing, and watch them sleep. 4 Reply elizabeth ward6 years agoelizabeth wardHave you ever read Psalm 131 (or 130): ‘…I have stilled and quieted my soul like a child in its mother’s arms…’ 2 Reply niels6 years agonielsmy favorite psalm… 0 Reply Anna6 years agoAnnaWonderful, Barbara! 2 Reply Springerlady6 years agoSpringerladyWalking on the Island of Iona, sitting on the bench outside the Abby. 2 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
